Почему бы не вырыть в полный рост , обязательно сгибаться ? Всего - то надо на 25 см вверх поднять свод , плотно усилить , подпереть подпоркой и порядок . Или что - то недосказано ? А каким образом образовался этот овраг ( просел , промыло , обвалился ) , снова это не произойдёт ? В плане , так сказать , безопасности ( хорошее укрытие не должно укрыть навсегда ) , вода всегда возвращается туда , где хоть раз побывала !
В овраге делать норы очень опасно, тем более в мягком грунте! В любой момент может рухнуть и придавить! Можно сделать на верху оврага выемку а крышу застелить жердями, ветками и полиэтиленом, застелить дерном. Так будет безопаснее! Удачи.☺

i always get a laugh when i read these kind of questions in the comments. they are always english and western. We seem to think we can't do anything without a licence (and in fact - we can't in the Allies country) however, each county has their own laws and thankfully what we often think of as third world they have more freedom than we do in a lot of ways.

Интересная затея, но очень опасная. Я работал на шахте, и знаю, что без подпорок почва рано, или поздно, рухнет на голову. Если она рухнет, никто тебя не откапает. А если и откапает, то только для того, что бы закапать по новому на кладбище.

i've worked in mining as well and i think that stuff that looks like white pain is what we call a 'mud' here.. its layered on and having said that . in the mines over here it has the mesh reinforcement as well but the walls are a lot bigger. maybe a small cave the mud is enough? (quick google - i think its called shotcrete?).

@darlenecollins2522 no he doesn't I work for a company that puts gas pipeline in the ground every day and if we dig more than 6 foot straight down with no overhang we need a boxed unit to keep it from caving in and killing us. He has thousands of pounds of soft soil right above his head with no bracing if that were to come down he is a dead man. 💀

I always say two requirements for building a bushcraft dwelling. High enough to stand up in and long/wide enough to lay down in stretched out. You get 5 stars for the latter, but failed at the height. But hey… it's your head you'll be banging on that low sealing. (grins) Otherwise well done.

the 1st thing he did was remove grass and dirt, but he never combined them into air-drying adobe-bricks: if 2/3of the process was making & laying adobe-blocks arching over the dig-out, then 1/3of the process is maximized, digging; as deep as the progress continues underground, proceeds extending overhead; it'd be a waste of digging-effort not making the adobe-fort extension.

When we were kids, we did exactly the same thing and it stopped immediately when one of the caves we dug collapsed and 2 boys.......... we were only about 10 years old and we dug as hard as we could but it was too late, I still think about it everyday. Never let your kids do these kind of things it is very dangerous.
