Another fan art series of mine is going! This is the episode 14 of Pokemon Gold! Finally whitney and miltank are defeated in this pokemon normal gym battle! Kris will get the sun stone in the bug catch contest in national park, and then Gold and Kris will leave goldenrod city, fight sudowoodo and continue their journey!

Ethan is his official name and Lyra was originally planned to be in the game before being replaced by Kris.
@Sora Song his official English name is Ethan, his original official name is Gold just as Kris is based off of Crys, which is the abbreviation of Chrystal. Lyra does not appear anywhere until heart gold/soul silver and is a separate character from Kris. You might as well call them Jimmy and Marina like the English dub of the anime does.

I had to rewind a few times
The bits of unique characterisation that we never thought about before were very nice touches! The idea that Whitney is strong because she was motivated by Red and her friendship with blue's sister are very interesting. And I Loved that return of blue as this older but still rowdy guy despite being a gym leader. This series just adds so much to the characters its fantastic!
Omg, I love Whitney's tragic backstory (yooooo get some, Gold!) This was an amazing episode as always, and a fantastic way to show why Whitney hates to lose. She promised herself never to lose again. You said last time that you had a backstory for her and YOU DELIVERED! As always, love your videos. These inbetween videos are fantastic! I love how you flesh out the world. Also, damn, Cris, playing dirty with those pinsir lol.
I'm also VERY happy to see Blue coming into his own and not only showing immense self-esteem (letting his sister borrow his literal second Pokemon) but also showing that he still has that spark, getting himself hyped for this new up-and-comer "Johto Boy". I'm so excited to see where you take the rest of the series and I can't wait for the next one!

I love how you take the existing games & create new stories, relations & lore and yet still stay true to the games’ events. Your videos have made replaying HGSS so much more fun now that I can imagine these kinds of things happening during my playthroughs.
Also, the bug-catching contest was so on point. So many times I caught Beedrill, Pinsir or Scyther yet a guy with Caterpie or Weedle won.

The best way to win the contest was the amount of HP the Pokémon you caught has left. I tried catching any pokemon when they were a sleep or paralyzed and won first place every time
You put more effort into Whitney’s character than Gamefreak ever bothered to give her
That's probably because they each had different goals. Gamefreak makes the Pokemon games mostly for children so a story that gets too complex could may turn away their
target audience. Pedro on the other hand is telling the story of the Pokemon games (and probably other media too) to an adult audience who grew up with the games.
Since we have grown to have more complex tastes so has the story.
@@mrsticky005 Honestly I wouldn't mind more complex games for an adult Pokemon audience like with Legends Arceus. I felt that had some of the more darker themes to Pokemon with a lot of complex characters too.

Getting a gym badge is great, but getting is kiss is awesome! Good for Gold. I wonder what’s next for Gold and Kris. I’m excited to see them at the burned tower and take on Team Rocket.

Not only should we see Whitney confronting team rocket, but we should see Gold, Kris and Silver all teaming up to take them down.

I am glad that I saw Blue and that his music style is still good
Very beautiful story. I love how much depth you have to the reason behind Whitney's crying. Rather than being naive about losing and throwing a fit over it, the poor girl is still traumatized by the actions of Team Rocket attacking her farm, but seeing Red defeat them and being undefeatable at that gives her hope to be the same, hence why she dominates over everyone. So when she lost again, that brought all the bad memories back to the front.
However, this will be good for Whitney's growth. She may have become strong, but even if you remain undefeatable, you may meet another undefeatable trainer one day, then what? Someone has to lose. But her loss to Gold here and his help allowed her to finally start moving past her trauma and can accept defeat. As well as get a new relationship. The kiss was both hilarious and adorable, and seeing their dates in the coming days as well as how Crys took advantage of it for bug catching were great!
And seeing Blue rocking out the gym for Gold has me pumped for that point! Let's make it to the end together!

I like how Whitney’s and Gold’s romance is a lot more charged and intense than Red and Misty’s. Really shows the differences in personalities.
Red is soft-spoken and traditional, whereas Gold is hot-headed and passionate.

Damn I didn’t think you could top last episode’s masterpiece but you did again!!! Sure this wasn’t battle heavy but I love the emotional character arc you gave to Whitney on her background and reasoning for why she never wants to be defeated again after the trauma she went through with the OP Giovanni Team Rocket boss! Gotta also love our boy Gold getting some of that Whitney moomoo milk action hot damn! So many cool/funny moments like Kris shoving Whitney into him so she can capture all the Pinsirs while they’re busy in their make out session lmao or her eyes squinting when she hears all the banging in the closed door room and peeks inside to see Gold getting it. I also appreciate the glimpse to the future with Blue calling Gold “Johto boy” and being the final boss/gym leader hurdle in Kanto for when Gold finally travels across regions. So many good moments & here’s to hoping for more!
Pedro, you went step up on this animation. Not only did you incorporate nostalgia, but fantasy. I'll proudly say that when I was playing the old gold and silver games. I would think about banging Whitney....Clair too. Anyways, props.
I know how Whitney and Chris feel one time I lost to an npc in the bug catching contest who caught a kakuka and one who caught a venonat which put me in third place even though I caught scythed

My prediction came true! And it's nice to see why Whitney has been determined to be undefeatable, like Red.
Now, for Kris, I am curious to see what's in store for her in the later chapters and if we will see more of her battling and her relationship with Silver because (spoilers!) if anyone recalls from the Red movie, Kris and Silver end up together.
There's a good chance we will see that coming soon. The next time the two protags meet silver should be in the ecruteak tower, with the legendary dogs.
Eventually silver is gonna need to crack and let himself be vulnerable to at least her. And from there, we shall see the seeds of their relationship

There will never be a tome where Blue blasting his theme isnt funny and awesome. Gotta say i wasnt expecting romance but now I'M ALL FOR IT. I loved the added backstory for Whitney, you just keep adding more to this story and it just keeps getting more and more in depth and its just so cool.
If I have nickel for every times the main protagonist of a Pokémon series made by Pedro get into a relationship with the first female gym leader, I would have 2 nickel, which isn’t a lot, but it just weird that it happened twice.

OMG, I'm so mad that I'm late to this! I usually glance over Johto's gym leaders, but holy hell. The thumbnail gave their ship away, but not even Red and Misty were THAT aggressive. You do intimacy in these kind of scenes well. Good work.

i like seeing how the characters interact with the gym leaders on more the one occasions rather than just beating them and moving on, amazing video!
This videos are a ton of fun.
I especially love how the characters keep on coming back. I know Gen 5 did a little with its Gym Leaders, but it has always shocked me how poorly utilised most of Pokemon's mainline series games treat their characters.
Maybe this part of the series was a little "breathtaking", but the end on Blue taking control up on viridian's gym was awesome...... can't wait to see more

Love the usage of the theory which is about Blue catching every gen2 non legendary pokemon stored inside his gym (the first looking green lego puzzle bricks were told to be boxes full of pokeballs). Also the romance between gold and whitney while kris stays a good friend is very cool
