very informative, i had to remove my big pond for a house extension and sewer lines about 6 yrs ago i do miss it but your video just kick started me to get my tape measure out.dont tell the wife though ,cant wait for part 2,realy enjoying it

my pond or large puddle as my family call it needs an upgrade so this video is really helpful. Thanx for making this and i look forward to the progress you make. I live in the UK so sympathise with the bloomin weather difficulties. Im sure Digby will give you some much needed comfort.

Ha ha! Indeed! I started this project in September last year and trying to fit it in around work obligations-not an easy task and frustrating that I’ve not been able to focus solely on my pond in its entirety! Documenting it and posting this first video is great motivation for me to keep going-having put this out there for all to see I HAVE to complete the project😉 I’m much further ahead then this vid depicts-so I’ll be posting part 2 in a few weeks! Thank you very much for watching and for your kind words!

I am curious if you have since wished that you had made it larger? It’s beautiful, the stone ( I am watching part 2) is truly gorgeous with that creamy color and the great stone work, I just kept thinking it would be nice if it was twice as large. Of course, I didn’t have to do the work or pay for it so it’s easy for me to imagine it even larger. 😀 in any case, it is fantastic!
Hi there, thanks for watching and commenting. Absolutely, I wish I could have made it match larger, or incorporated more then one pond together. Also really fancied a stream flowing across my garden, but unfortunately I had to keep my wife and kids happy (mostly my wife😂) and was allocated a space to work in. However for my garden the size works well although certainly wouldn’t want it any smaller however!

Good to have another one of your video series. Great tip on the laser, I was wondering if I would need to be doing the stonework on my project at night :) As my "pond" has filled with rain water and I would like to keep it what do you can the flexible bowser / water containers that you use in your other videos and is it possible to hire them from somewhere?
Hi there, apologies for the slow response- these water bowsers are fantastic! There’s lots of flexible water storage tank solution- onion tanks, water pillows etc- the ones I use are intended for emptying swimming pools into for pool maintenance and are called Portapools. Not cheap- but a worthwhile investment for the sort of work I do! No idea if they can be rented out I’m afraid….would happily do so if you were local!

@@CrystalClearAquatics great, thanks for the tip :). We ended up buying an 8' paddling pool :). But it's useful to know the correct things if we ever need to completely empty the pond :)
Wish our ground was like that when I stated dogging my pond it kept caving in.
Soil structure makes a huge difference to excavating a pond- sandy gritty soils are a nightmare!! Easy to dig but impossible to create a nice neat shell!

Ha! Must of been a trick of the light- I can assure you the amount of tea I consume my teeth are not white!😉
