Nice, I'll be trying the jump move today. I'm still fine tuning my 180's. Can we talk about those sunglasses though?? what brand / model are those?????
My 76 year old dad got a EUC recently in an attempt to keep up with me on the Onewheel, he's already killing it doing long rides. He fell a lot in the beginning, but he's built like a tank and just stuck to it.
76! Your dad is a MACHINE! Tell him I hope to be as cool as him when I'm his age!
@@freshlycharged His response, "Well, I've got 'em fooled. Being crazy and OCD and learning new things seems to have a benefits besides delaying Alzheimer's! Ha ha! Thank God I'm crazy, it keeps me from going insane."
Yeah, he's a little different than your average 76 year old.
Edit: Follow up comments: "I checked out part of the UA-cam for your UA-camr and his learning curve with his EUC. The only difference is it took me 40 to 50 hours over two months to do what he can do in an hour; but who cares I can do it. In spite of slow reaction time is due to the aging carcass. I'm glad to see he's wearing helmet and wrist guards pretty good idea to avoid serious pain."
And I get shit for being "too old" at 38 years old!! Float on Gandolf!
Yes I’m 62 and worry I look too old for riding my pint around my neighborhood but it’s so much fun I do it anyway. But your Dad is the man and my new hero. It s had so many benefits (270 miles) weight loss, increased balance, strength and flexibility and the occasional admiring glances from the females. Float on old geezers!
Daaaaaang! Sweet.
EUC..? Electric Uni-Cycle? Right?
That's seriously cool tho. Adventure is worth a bit of pain. Scars are life experience! (To a limit, obviously... lol)
Thanks Jimmy, I learned the 2 tricks this morning before i left for work! The jump mount always seemed risky but actually was pretty easy the way you described it.
It's great to see you learning, sharing and teaching your experience with other's. You have a great personality and attitude, that goes along way! Great video!
Thanks for the Shout out and update! My XR has been mia for past 3 wks getting repaired by FM (battery temp sensor malfunction), but returns next week and I’m stoked to ride 🙌 Have been substituting with the Loaded Icarus longboard during the wait, which has proved itself to be amazing!
Thanks Cody. Keep that stoke high and I'll keep washing dirty dishes ASAP!
All of this stuff I was able to do on my 1st attempt. You did a great job of explaining everything. Thank you.
Hey Jimmy, love your channel! I’m 60 years old and received my XR on February 1st, I’m addicted! Thank you for all the good info that you share in your videos, it’s helped me big time. I just returned from Moab and had a great time riding :-)
BRET! 60! MOAB! You ROCK! Be safe out there and have fun!
You ROCK, Bret. I'm 62 and just got my XR a couple of weeks ago. Got a whole 6 miles on it. I still vacillate between wondering if I've completely lost my mind and thinking that I may eventually overcome the NOOB fear of DEATH syndrome and start figuring the board out... FLOAT ON....
Biker Bob I know it’s easy to think that you’ve lost your mind and second guess your decision to own and ride a OW. Having thoughts like- “I’m too old” or “what will people think”..... Put those thoughts out of your mind. I encourage you to keep on FLOAT’N, it gets a whole lot funnier once you get the hang of it. It takes a lot of guts to try something new like this at our age. You are a hero in my book!
Im feel so late at all this stuff like I’ve been under a rock, saw a dude couple of months ago on a xr, I looked into it but I figured it was to mutch money, then I saw and order a meepo v3 a month ago because of the price and realized I’m not getting that thing for a while, so I got my lady to watch sum of your videos and I convinced her to get a one wheel pint with me sense you can do payments on it, we ended up getting our son one too, can’t wait till Monday. I appreciate your passion making these videos giving ppl better ideas of electronics out there, and thanks for confirming that you don’t get paid by them as well I think this is very important for ppl to know so you can be viewed in a respectable way... you are very appreciated, keep the videos coming...
I just took the plunge and purchased a OneWheel Pint... mostly due to your videos. :) I'm hoping I enjoy it and find it as fun as you make it look. I'm 53 years old, and part of me worries with the "you're too old to be on one of those!" thing, but it looks like a really fun and smooth ride, and I loved skateboarding in my teens and twenties, so I'm hoping some of that old muscle-memory balance will come back to me. Anyway, I love your videos man. Keep them coming! :)
Great videos. I’ve got my first one wheel coming this week. I purchased a used XR and am so pumped to ride it. I also listen to your videos while I make artwork, as I am self employed. Appreciate ya, I’ll be tuning into more.
Awesome - everytime I watch your videos I really want the Onewheel.
I just bought my xr. I will be receiving it tomorrow in the mail. Thank you for all your advice. Been watching your vids like a mad man lolol
Love the moves! I'm still technically within my 1st week with the OneWheel, but I'll practice these tips tonight since they look handy, but also... so I can look like a pro! Looking forward to a future part 2 video with your take on how to do the curb bump up.
You got it! Let me know how these moves go for you.
Got the jump mount going. So cool! The 180 is taking some time. May need to do some core strengthening, but I’m betting it’s more jump, shoulder and body rotation timing. Gonna get there! Being able to do a 180 will be useful instead of having to dismount and readjust.
@@euc_sharkman Strong work! Keep it up. These are low risk, high reward moves... my favorite!
Dude. I been practicing my jump mount. Its all about trust. Kinda weird the first few times.
Yeah. These one wheeled gadgets are all about trust, especially when you are cruising fast on a busy street. I'm always saying a little prayer... Board, please don't fail me now!
Jimmy Chang haha
@@freshlycharged 🤣🤣😂 me too.
Glad to see some more instructional onewheel videos. I just got my XR a couple of weeks ago and have 6 whole miles on it. Still at the NOOB fear of death stage, but these instructional videos are really helpful. Looks like your EUC riding is getting pretty good. Float hard or go home...
I have them all (pint - EUC & evolve gtx skateboard - ninebot scooter) The EUC is the best. Ask why if you’re interested. I been riding a EUC for around five years!
Another great video Jimmy. Thanks for the shoutout. I like and use the "slydog" jump mount technique you teach at the beginning. It is much easier to float in traffic where you are forced to stop often. I have to try the 180s. Also, nice smooth riding on the KS16s. Look forward to your full review/comparison once you break it in. Just ordered another EUC, the Nikola which is Gotway's latest addition. Looks like it is going to be a blast. I will give you the deets once I put a hundred miles on it but it will not be here until the end of April. You will buy a Gotway someday. I gotta buy those flatlands full fingered gloves. They look slick. Cheers!
Thanks Jorge. I hope I'm pronouncing your name okay. For a minute right after I published the video I thought maybe it was pronounced George.
Jimmy Chang Hey Jimmy. Both you and my mom pronounce my name perfectly. It is the rest of the world that pronounces it George. Thanks for caring and taking the time to appreciate and respect Hispanic culture. 🇵🇷
I have watched all of your OW videos and they are great! Just bought a used plus and was able to ride within minutes! Keep up the good work!
i havent been watching for too long but this is like my 15 video watching you so i subbed. I got a onewheel about a week ago and im loving my first weekend with it, i get memorial day off from work so extra long weekend. YES!
Love your attitude about negative comments. Keep on brother!
Re: 180 turns: Also tilt the board (evenly between the front and back of the board) in the direction you're going to spin. I still can't do a full 180, but this tip got me from 90 to, like, 150.
Re: jump mount: Today I got pretty good at giving the tail of my board a flick, letting it spin 360, stopping it with the same foot, and then jump mounting. It's a super easy progression to the jump mount and looks that much more impressive.
The spinning jump mount!
Just got my onewheel XR. Amazing. Started on grass and just got my full pavement ride. Still learning how to get off properly one foot at a time without doing the beginner both feet at once technique. That being said I already scuffed up the sides....so I ordered Rail Guards for extra protection. Can't wait to get out again I can see the addiction.
Ive only had my xr for three days now and I am addicted to this thing. Im suposed to be studying for a physics final but all I can do is zip around my neighborhood. Ive already put about 20 miles on it. Im cutting across people's lawns at night and just ripping through the neighborhood and the parks. Im going to try delirium tonight :) My poor little skateboard is just sitting in the corner getting lonely.
Fantastic! Good luck on the physics final?
Good vid Jimmy. I've had my Onewheel for about a month and a half now and I find myself looking to go faster and try other little "tricks" like the ones you showed in this vid. Still trying to remind myself to take it easy though, haha! I really want to get up the nerve to hop off curbs. That is such a practical move when traveling around in the city.
You've made it this far without major injury! As for curb drops, find low curbs to practice on then build up from there!
I'm a new subscriber and I'm really enjoying your videos, Jimmy. I have ordered a OneWheel Pint (sorry) and am extremely excited to ride it when it finally gets to me by 2021. Haha. As a longtime Surfer and Skateboarder, the OneWheel really appeals to me as another fun Board-sport. The EUC looks like fun, but I can't imagine it taking off like the OW. Similar to how In-Line Skating became significantly less popular and almost "nerdy" to do, It seems to me like the EUC falls into that category. I'm all for people having fun and I wouldn't be against trying it, but it doesn't speak to the hip, socal boardriding lifestyle. I could obviously be wrong, but the OneWheel just seems cooler. Keep up the videos. All the best, Greg.
Thanks for the support, Greg. No need to apologize for the Pint. I'm looking forward to getting mine and testing it. I just checked and mine will ship on June 1st. Yes, for some reason our culture values standing sideways. I wonder where that comes from.
Ha. You're right. I know that it's more comfortable for me, personally. But to each, their own. I spend a lot of time on an Evolve Carbon GT. That was a blast too.
Nice the jump mount was an instant change for me I love it. Try also showing the quick stop!
Great video... just got an XR a couple days ago, so nice to see these rider tips. Thanks for you videos. I've watched many and they've all been great.
Are you loving it? I'ma get one at some point in my life.
@@pewwbz9647 too early to tell. I only floated around in our parking garage a little last night. It was fun though. Turning is something I'll need to work on.
@@cdgf-X for sure. I'm sure once you get comfy you will love it. Then biff it and start all over again lol.
DeGraaf, thanks for the support. Hope you stay safe and keep practicing. It only gets better as you get better.
cool, i just recently realized i could turn off the park assist allowing me to ride switch, and it really has helped me out a lot with doing cooler stuff with my pint. Your video helped me figure out the jump mount a lot. Ive been wanting to just run up and jump on my board for a while. Getting foot placement right in the jump is tricky, but the technique worked great, i got it right away.
Another cool move I seen recently on another channel is the step off to stop. It might not be new, but it will be handy to do instead of a full jump off or the offside pad lift to stop. What do you think?
I see Slydog doing that a lot in his videos but I've never really tried. It's always fun to challenge myself with low risk moves that hopefully won't result in injury.
@@freshlycharged You are talking about slydogtroh? Yeah I watch his videos a bunch!
You should try the step off stop! It’s actually super easy - I haven’t really tried to learn any tricks yet, but I’ve been trying that and it’s very easy doesn’t seem to have any injury risk 👍🏻
@@RachieGrace Thanks! I will try it too. I think that when I first received my OneWheel Plus, I wore strong shoes to not hurt my feet when I fell(So many times, lol). But The Grip tpe on the board gripped too much to those shoes and made me fall more when I tried to jump off with both feet. The board would stay attached to my front foot and I found myself doing the split and usually the wheel would follow and pull my shoe off. lol
RickMelges oof... I have done that same split - not fun at all!
love your videos man you helped make my decision on buying the one wheel xr! keep up the great vids!
First time I saw your logo, I thought of Jimmy Deans breakfast sandwiches 😂.
Another Jimmy!
Enjoying your videos. The unicycle looks fun. Really enjoying my onewheel and ebike
Jimmy! Major props on all the progress with your channel. I’m eager to start creating content and get immersed in the local OW community myself. I will admit I’m finding it challenging deciding on a consistent theme for content that’s in line with my personal brand. I have had my XR for about a month and clocked just below 200 miles. Slowly but surely I’m getting even more comfortable and progressing my jump mounts, curb drops/nudges, 180’s, switch-ups and shove-it’s. Any suggestions for someone just starting out on the “tube” would be greatly appreciated. Happy Floating!
yessss the jump mount!! I have been meaning to learn this, I cant wait to try!
Do it John! Do it and then have all those nephews of yours do it too!
Jimmy Chang yea Man U got it!
What make shoes do you wear? Good videos thanks👍
Another great training video Jimmy!! Keep it up!
Killin' It! 🔥
Thanks for the content buddy! Just ordered a XR can’t wait to practice carving and doing tricks.
Cool go pro tricks
Nice! I've done a million 180s and I still screw it up occasionally. I think I've always just winged it - I think some careful evaluation of my technique would be a good idea - this video is a good place to start.
My flatland gloves have huge holes at that seam now. I need to sew em up.
But it's getting warmer out. Maybe I'll wait a year.
Adam, if it's within the year warranty, have them send you the updated version of the gloves. Let me know if you have any issues. I'd love to hear how you do your 180s.
Oh, Chris Richardson has a great video where he breaks down 180s. He goes to a molecular level... Even talking about rubber molecules!
Jimmy Chang I've watched Richardson's videos they are so good! But not at a moment where I'm actively going out to ride, I should do that.
I've already gotten a replacement of my flatland gloves but I guess it was early enough that the replacement lacks the upgrade. I feel badly asking for a third frigg'n pair. I'd rather just buy another set and support them if it really starts bothering me.
Happy to see you rocking on the onewheel. How are you enjoying the uni?
Bill, the EUC is great fun!
i ordered a pint and am still waiting for it. But i wanted to ask, if im riding and notice my feet are not in a comfortable spot or are slipping or getting close to the tire. can i re-position my foot while riding. ive done segway tours in the past and one thing that really bothered me is that you cannot pick up a foot or even really pick up part of your foot to move it, shift it, release pressure. On a onewheel is there a way to re position your foot after your already on it. If im riding and notice my foot hurts or has slipped. can i shift my weight or hop my foot forward or backwards while still riding?
Good question. I can't speak for the Pint but if it's like the other Onewheels if you are going faster than 1 mph you can lift your foot from the pad briefly and it won't stop on you. I like to either wiggle/slide my feet or do little mini hops to reposition my feet while riding.
@@freshlycharged awesome thanks. Eases my fears. I hate having to have my feet planted in the exact spot for long periods of time. Gotta shift.
Jimmy you have lost all credibility highlighting a comment talking about losing credibility. Regarding the tips, the jump mount does look cool indeed however the old frugal man in me doesn't like the idea of the wheel electronics having to surge like that to "catch" me. I have wanted to practice the 180 and seeing this encourages me more to do so. I'm not sure if I agree with Jorge's prediction, unless you have a unsustainable desire for speed that an EUC can offer.
Compared to what I've seen others do on group rides and what McCosker does on his channel, I feel the jump mount is pretty tame, but I see where you're coming from. We'll see what happens with the EUC. I just ordered a full face helmet so I can feel better about going faster. I'll keep you posted.
Hey Duf. An unsustainable desire for speed is not necessary. All it takes is the need to go just bit faster since you get used to the max speed very quickly. Also, most people like a bit of variety or they get bored. Combine those ingredients with a little disposable income and you end up with lots of wheels and other toys. Case in point, Marty Backe, you, chooch, Chris (house of job), Eddie Moy, Tishawn Fahie, me just to name a few. I think Jimmy already has three Onewheels. He can surely justify three EUCs of differing speeds and models. I stand by my prediction :)
@@jorgebatista425 Haha ok time will tell!
Hello Jimmy, After try Onewheel and wheel ,. You prefer which machine and which or the two ?
And for you which do you find the least dangerous in its us ?
Onewheel and nosedives , it's really vicious !
Wheel is more technical to take in hand but looks more reliable in its us
I feel the EUC is more safe but harder to ride than the Onewheel. Check it my blog for more... Oneradwheel.com
Since u did the jump mount, definitely should also do the one foot slide off dismount as well
It's on the list!
What is the brand of your helmet and EUC?
Did you waterproof your board???
I did not. I just make sure not to go too crazy around H2O.
@@freshlycharged Cant wait to see how you enjoy the EUC in comparison to the OW. I have an XR and sometimes want to try an EUC but if the fun factor isn't there, i might get a pint to add to the XR.....
What handle is that on that orange Onewheel?
It's the bone handle by Land Surf. Very comfy and adds a level of protection to the board during rollovers.
@@freshlycharged cool! Which would you recommend between this and the Craft & Ride Silver handle?
awesome video as always sir, whats the green helmet (your son?) is wearing? i really dig it, thanks!
Can't remember where I got that helmet. Knowing my shopping habits, Probably some Amazon sale.
Do you need simple stop off when doing the 180 on a pint?
im new to the one wheel community and been riding but after like 10 minutes my calfs are burning a lot. does this have anything to do with my shoes or stance or just not being in shape?
I see some people teach 180s a bit differently, more like a very very tight edge turn on steroids. What do you think?
I'm sure there are many techniques out there. Things then become more difficult when you try to do it while moving. This is just what worked for us. What's your favorite method?
@@freshlycharged I'm still learning, going to try your method tonight
Think positive very good.
Do u any any t-shirt for EUC??
What's easier to ride one wheel or the v12
News just in, there was a secret onewheel giveaway in this video. And the winner is me! Address will be given when confirmed.
I'm a freeloader. Sorry
Is that a yes or a dismissive smirk?
The 180 is what destroyed my elbow. You lift up, the friction lessened, the wheel spunn up (cuz I wasn't leveled I think), and when you land the Onewheel rockets away leaving you behind... Be careful with that one
What size battery is the EUC? Can you travel with it?
Way bigger than XR most likely. No can't travel.
Can you even carve on an EUC?
Cheers man
Which EUC do you enjoy the most?
I dont think jumping on the board is good for the durability of the board and the wheel. Sure, the onewheel passes trough way worse stuff but why risk it when you can get on it nicely without pushing it?
So I can look cool. 😎
1900th subscriber yay
This day will forever live in history!
pro con of your e vehics pls
Great videos, but both of those moves look like they’re hard on the board (the jump mount) and the wheel (the 180).
My gloves ripped stitch in same place
One year warranty. Send them an email. They will probably just send you a new pair. You could ask for their fingerless version instead and just fix the ripped ones with some needle and thread.
A horse is a horse, of course of course... #Mr. Ed
... the FAMOUS MR. ED! You got the reference!
the thing i still cant get used to is riding on grass. nothing works on grass. it just sucks you in.
Im getting a onewheel pint!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi
Bro, you look like a pro as you get on your board and turn to point the right way...then, as soon as you start going forward, you fall off because you decided to practice 180’s instead of learning the basics.😂😂😂
T-pose haha
Do a kickflip
I skipped this and came back to make sure and dislike the video. It’s stupid
First move, ditch the sissy helmet
Jorge Batista's prediction wasn't aimed at me but after only 6 months, I've upgraded my EUC, sold my e-skateboard and one e-scooter. I'm contemplating canceling my Pint order in favor of saving for whatever new wheel I may want in the future.
Update: My Pint has shipped, so I can't cancel it now.
I would add a quick stop to the list. It makes you look like you've been riding for ages, it is amazing safety maneuver and it looks cool because you can sometimes ride the tail for a bit. It's IMO the best move on onewheel as it combines safety, style and usefulness.
Awesome stuff Mr. Chang!! I need to practice that jump mount.
Do it!
Thanks for sharing this video Jimmy. I have wanted to attempt doing those two tricks, but I’ve been too scared the board would slip from my feet. Since you and son have mastered it, I should try it too. 🙏🏽😊
Wear safety gear and go in baby steps! Let me know how it goes!
I just got my onewheel and put 42 miles on it in the first 3 days and in surprised by people's reactions to the price and what they would have bought instead lol. Whatever. I have fun!! I love it. Nose dived a few times and learning real quick.
Thanks for sharing
I learned that my riding style wasn't appropriate for the speeds I was riding at. I leaned over the board with my hips when i'm going fast because my legs start to give out and shake. The board drops my weight forward and that's when I start to nosedive. Keeping that s shape stance with t rex arms fluid and ready to go is going to be my next stance when I recover from my injuries and feel safe enough to get back on.
Jimmy, some great tips. I've been wanting to learn the 'jump mount' technique but I'll be honest. I'm a bigger buy and I haven't' seen any guys around 210-215lbs use that technique regularly. I'm guessing your around 160-170lbs (camera may add a few pounds...LOL). I'm actually afraid I might break the board so steer clear of a lot of this stuff....I'm more of a cruiser anyway...but good stuff. If anyone here is around my weight and does the jump mount 'regularly' would love to hear your experience as well.
Will do! You are a good weight guesser.
That EUC is cool and all but I don't think it comes close to the OW and the joy it brings by riding (floating)... good stuff as always.
Cheers!
Thanks for the tips on the 180 Turns. #onewheel
My XR came in the mail today! First float was great 🤙🏼
The first time I saw a Onewheel was on one of your videos, After watching you, I just had to get one for myself, the best thing that I could possibly do, it’s amazing the feeling of freedom that you get when riding one of this, thank you for sharing your videos , I really love my Onewheel , and I don’t think I would have noticed it before, if it wasn’t for your work .
hey jimmy thank you for all your insight on the one wheel and i just recently bought a one wheel pint and i watched almost all of your videos lol. It’s nice to have a good youtuber i can trust when it comes to one wheel products thank you jimmy much love
Literally laughed out loud about the dishes. Story of my life.
It should be sad... but it's funny because it's true!
Jimmy Chang I get told almost everyday how I don’t do this or don’t do that, they ignore the stuff that we do and highlight what wasn’t done 🙄🙄. Happy wife, happy life as they say. Also, can’t wait to get my first Onewheel soon.
Looks like the front range where I live. Wanna roll a ride? Do you find cold temperature affects battery life?
you know youve done good when you only have 21.5k but get famous viewers like seth rogen
Great videos Jimmy, I've watched a few now, Onewheel just getting going here in theUK, I tried an XR and loved it, now deciding between an XR or a Pint.
Good luck!
Great work Ethan 😉
Your videos are awesome Jimmy,
Don't sweat the haters! Do you, I love your videos. XR and Pint owner here.
I recently ordered a OW Pint, I like that magnetic fender. Did you make that? Or buy that? If you made it can you please send me a picture or DIY? Thank you
Edward Portillo, MSBIT, PMP the magnetic fender is made by Craft and Ride
Jorge was correct about the Euc as far as I’m concerned.
I just got a onewheel can't stop watching ur videos
I'm 14 years old should I buy a onewheel pint?
As with most board sports, spins are as much science as they are art. The mechanics of 180s and 360s are 3 factors used in conjuction with each other in 5 or more possible combinations. The mechanics of your particular 180 is (rotation + counter rotation) Rotation: The process of deweighting the board while you are rotating your upper body, pulling the board in the same direction. Counter rotation: The process of rotating your upper body after deweighting the board, pushing the board in the opposite direction. Something to consider: (turn + counter rotation) may require more cerebellar training but requires less than half the physical effort of a rotational 180. A rough surface results in a larger radius with an inertial but no additional effort would be spent.
Are you really Bill Nye?
Not at all. I'm just parroting age old snowboard mechanics :)
What’s the best place to buy a used onewheel?
Those onewheel xrs look sick
Why not just ride switch?
