As a club100 regular tips for Whilton
1 no braking turn 1/2
Turn 3 brake later
Ashby brake later
Use more kerb on entry into boot to carry more speed
Lift for monster kerb corner or stab brakes don’t lift off throttle
Hi Gavin, great video and was good to meet you that day.
Btw, I'm the guy you're following in the black suit / white helmet. I've posted a UA-cam video of my fastest lap that day but your video of my fastest lap is much better :)
Ah awesome man, you guys were so much quicker than me, towards the end I was getting in a groove and starting to keep up/not get dropped as quickly haha
good luck with your karting next season if you're up north sometime maybe we could race in the Manchester, Liverpool or Warrington tracks :)
Great video!
when will the endurance race be coming up mate?
It's gonna be a couple of weeks, it's a tonne of footage to go through and put together then do the narration etc
when can we expect the next club 100 vid? loving the content BTW
It'll be next year now when the new season starts I'm afraid
Just subscribed. I've recently just started karting at the grand old age of 30. Do you have any tips for getting your kart to rotate for hairpins? Specifically for indoor Team sport karts
Thanks for the sub, what's your local teamsport track? Hey don't worry about your age though, Im 33 and only started lass than 2 years ago.
As for the getting the rotation through hairpins, I initiate it with the brakes. Come upto the corner and brake as late as you can and HRD as you can without locking the wheels, obviously in these karts all the braking is done on the rear wheels only, then as I start to turn in I give the brakes a quick stab to lock the rear wheels and then straight off the brakes from there, you wanna get the back end to step out a little but not so much that youre drifting, if you get me? basically what I aim to do is have over half the rotation done by the time I'm halfway through the corner, so when I'm 90° through the corner I want the kart to be at say 100-110° throught the 180° if rotation, that's what works for me anyway and I hope it makes a little sense to you?
Just bear in mind though that all happens in a very short space of time and distance so just keep practicing it'll come with experience the more you're out in a kart, I still get it wrong plenty of times hah
@@LearnToRace Local one is team sport west london but visit team sport Edmonton more as they have deals.
I get what you mean. The angles make sense. Thanks very much. The only other approach I've seen is some drivers looked like they quickly turn the steering wheel in the opposite direction to the the corner and then quickly turn into the corner to get the back end loose. Like a flick.
@@tylerdurden786 yeah that's another option, have a play around with it see which one works for you, it's all about trial and error. Theonly time I've had to use that flick option was at teamsport in Stoke, check that video out if you want, but apart from that it's never been a technique I'm any good at or comfortable with.
@@LearnToRace appreciate all the advice mate 👌
We need more videos!! :)
Have you ever raced teamsport Warrington? It’s my home track and the only teamsport I have raced at but I’ve heard that it is the best teamsport track in the UK ! :)
I've been to it, to watch the bikc finals earlier this year, but haven't races on it yet but I'm planning on going early next year
@@LearnToRace I wound really recommend it, it’s incredibly quick to drive.
My fastest is only a 1:01.8 but some people can do a 58 second lap!
@@mvx_m2341 how many times have you been? I want to try Warrington, heard it’s good
I look forward to seeing you at a few rounds next year!
Yeah I'm looking forward to it too, just waiting for registration to open up
@@LearnToRace which tracks are you looking to race at next year?
@@tomtom3195. Im hoping to do shennington, WM, buckmore and Llyd, I'm gonna do the c100 experience championship, not planning on doing the full calender unless by some miracle I end up doing well in those races haha
Im going to do club 100 next year aswell
@@sinyo06 have you registered for the season yet? Which race series are you entering within the club 100?
Nice session man! Looking forward to seeing more Club 100 on your channel!
you're too polite. it feel like you are asking the kart to turn, stop and go. where you needs to be way more forceful with hitting the brakes getting it to turn in and powering out. but obviously not overly aggressive..
You're right, I think I try to be too smooth, I need to be more aggressive like you say, that'll come with experience in these karts. Do you do club100?
@@LearnToRace I do yeah. my 2nd full season. what championship are you looking to enter next year?
@@StefThe0 I'm gonna do the experience championship in the novice class (obviously), get some experience under my belt and see how I fare and go from there really
Here it is 🙏👍😉
Hello from Canada... enjoyed the video
Hello from the UK...thanks for watching 👍
Can I ask when are you next going to Leeds teamsport thanks
To be honest I'm not sure
