I heard somewhere that Kaitlyn Dever was considered for the role of Ellie. And sadly, I can't help but feel she would have been a better pick for Ellie as a whole. Don't get me wrong: Bella did an awesome job portraying the young Ellie, the innocent cute Ellie. But the only problem is this next season needs a much older, darker, hostile version of Ellie. Part 2 Ellie is masculine and edgy, and sadly I just think Kaitlyn would have been a better pick. Otherwise, Bella looks great and I'm sure she'll do an awesome job in this next season.
I 100% agree that Kaitlyn would have matched Ellie perfectly; a lot of fans would agree too. She was up to play Ellie for the movie version of the game, which was going to be directed by Sam Rami (Tobey McGuire Spider-Man director), but that got scrapped. So I think her playing as Abby is a way for Neil & Craig to say, “yeah we could’ve, but why not put her in the opposite role and see what’s she is capable of!?” I think in the auditions they may have saw something in Kaitlyn that really spoke to the crew to decide that she’s the one to play brute force Abby! It’s exciting, nonetheless! We’ll see!
Seeing the live action part 2 Ellie confirms my theory that older ellies haircut is inspired by Tess. In the first game Tess has the same exact hair Ellie goes with in part 2. But the live action Tess has a different hairstyle than in the game but it just so happens to be that the live action older Ellie has the same exact hairstyle as live action Tess. To me that’s confirmation that it has always been done intentionally in game and live action
100% I think it's inspired by Tess' hairstyle for sure! In the show Tess has the same hairstyle but longer, and now Ellie's in the show is longer as well.

I was born in Vancouver WA, and lived there until I was 12. I used to frequent the downtown area a lot. In Chinatown they had this Chinese restaurant that served THE BEST cream cheese wantons and there was a Mexican restaurant nearby called Juanita's. I knew her personally, she absolutely adored me. I went back back to Vancouver a few years ago and I found out that my old house is now a Barber shop, which is pretty cool. Seeing them shooting here makes me so nostalgic..
I agree! I think the only reason it's longer is because it's supposed to be exactly like Tess' haircut, which is shorter in the games but longer in the show. So I believe that's why Bella's is longer in the show. But yes I agree I think it should be a little shorter.

This show is really good…the acting is good…the creature effects are good, the post-apocalyptic atmosphere is good…the music is good. The only thing I can’t get over is how downright depressing it is. Nothing happy ever happens, and whenever the characters have a brief moment of happiness, it usually turns to shit not long after. It’s like with each episode the writers went, “How can we make this episode more depressing than the last?” I legit can only watch one episode at a time because it’s so depressing.

So it does make a large difference when crediting someone vs just assuming people will google it. If you had removed the watermarks btw, I wouldnt have sent a warning. You just would have woke up 1 day with this video taken down. I am aware that people do use my photos elsewhere with minimal to zero credits as well. UA-cam though is the only platform where monetization of that content exists, so its the only platform where I rigorously enforce it as much as I can.

I've been making these types of videos for almost 3 years now, and 99% of the photos I use aren't professionally shot with specific owners that would normally make money off of the pictures. It's a word of mouth type thing. You can find these other photos on tiktoks, twitter, and other UA-cam channels. I'm not the only one making content like this, and I'm simply just trying to hype up one of my favourite pieces of media. I don't make money from this. With your logic, I can claim that your profile picture is "stealing content" 2. It was a simple mistake/misunderstanding that I immediately rectified after being made aware of the fact that Canadagraphs has a UA-cam channel, and would like to be given credit for their photos via a link in the description box or video. They were polite enough to make me aware of what my mistake was, and gave me a chance to give them credit where credit is due. I even left the watermarks in on purpose when other people would erase them. There was absolutely no malicious intent behind this simple mistake. 3. If you would even bother checking the description box, you would see that I immediately posted their channel, and claimed to not own any of the photos in the video. I also said in WRITING in THIS comment chain that going forward, I would be more vigilant of this sort of thing, and will always make sure to give them credit/ask permission if I use their photos or any other professional photos again. Long story short, I take this sort of thing very seriously. People make mistakes. I recognized that I made one, immediately fixed it, and learned my lesson for next time. I don’t like the fact that Bella is the s2 Ellie although I enjoyed her in s1 and I personally feel she should look older (depression, stress, post apocalyptic world, u get it) but whatever, she’s a great actress they could’ve put some make up or whatever, personally not a problem I enjoy the series for what it is not for fashion or good looking characters

TLoU is probably my favourite game of all time and I cannot not say anything.. Bella Ramsay is a terrible choice for an 19yr old Ellie. Videogame Ellie is skinny and gaunt, short haired and looks like a young woman. The scene where she's topless her back facing us and Dina is treating her wounds is a good example. Bella Ramsey looks like a 14 yr old, with long hair and a slightly chubby seal pup physique in comparison. This is her biggest role as a young actress by a country mile. Think of the sacrifices Joaquin Phoenix went through as a WORLD CLASS actor to became Joker.. He looked/was skinny as hell, literally lived the role for god knows how long. And went and smashed out one of the performances of the decade... Arguably matching or surpassed another World class performance of the late great Heath Ledger. I hate to be so brutal and it's only my honest opinion. I'm sure she's a lovely young lady and for what it's worth I thought she was ok in season one as a 14yr old , but ultimately I was still gutted they cast her in the first place. Bella Ramsey doesn't even begin to stack up to this role as. 19yr old Ellie. The young girl as Dina doesn't work either. I would've rather seen the real Dina voice actor tbh True TLoU fans tell me I'm wrong??? I don't think I'm being too harsh?, but maybe I'm just cynical in my older age considering this game series has been 10yrs of videogame history now.
A fictional character has physical and non-physical aspects and both are important. When a character doesn't look the role, it breaks immersion and it deters the audience from believing they are real in the world of the story. So it's completely valid for people to be upset over this, I don't get those who think it's weird? This isn't about Bella'a looks in general, it's about whether she fits the role or not and she clearly doesn't. I also don't get why everyone's clothes are so clean, another point that breaks immersion.

I think the hair is longer because in the game she does her hair similar to how Tess does it. In the show Tess's hair is longer than it is in the game, so that's why Ellie's hair is longer in the show! I'm not sure about her sneakers though. Usually she's wearing a pair of Converse but she's wearing boots this time around so I'm not sure why they've done that.

Btw i can’t take these two seriously, they look like they are 14 wandering around on the streets like little kids with the guns they don’t know how to use. In the game despite them being 19 they were looking more mature. Also i think Ellie (Bella) needed to have a fitter, more muscular look due to this world they live in rn. I don’t know it lacks in so many things im not satisfied. I have big expectations from Abby tho. God i hope they don’t fuck up on Abby (as one of my fav characters). She HAS TO be built like an OX. Otherwise i’ll be sooooooo disappointed 😢

To be fair, any photo that belongs to you specifically has your watermark on it, and I never went out of my way to remove any watermarks. In your case, the original source is there for anyone who wants to research that further, and I am in no way taking credit. Honestly had no clue that you had a UA-cam or anything of that matter until right now so in the future I can put your channel in the description.
I get most of my photos from sites like twitter and tik tok, where they are doing something similar. If there is a specific mention of a photographer I can once again put it in the description, but for the most part there never is.

@@T-D1ZZLE11 I can tell you, as someone that runs analytics on incoming traffic on my website, and my youtube, less than 1% of people get to either through a google search, over 80% through links on others content. So it does make a large difference when crediting someone vs just assuming people will google it.

I am aware that people do use my photos elsewhere with minimal to zero credits as well. UA-cam though is the only platform where monetization of that content exists, so its the only platform where I rigorously enforce it as much as I can.

1. I'm not "stealing" anything. I've been making these types of videos for almost 3 years now, and 99% of the photos I use aren't professionally shot with specific owners that would normally make money off of the pictures. It's a word of mouth type thing. You can find these other photos on tiktoks, twitter, and other UA-cam channels. I'm not the only one making content like this, and I'm simply just trying to hype up one of my favourite pieces of media. I don't make money from this. With your logic, I can claim that your profile picture is "stealing content"
2. It was a simple mistake/misunderstanding that I immediately rectified after being made aware of the fact that Canadagraphs has a UA-cam channel, and would like to be given credit for their photos via a link in the description box or video. They were polite enough to make me aware of what my mistake was, and gave me a chance to give them credit where credit is due. I even left the watermarks in on purpose when other people would erase them. There was absolutely no malicious intent behind this simple mistake.
3. If you would even bother checking the description box, you would see that I immediately posted their channel, and claimed to not own any of the photos in the video. I also said in WRITING in THIS comment chain that going forward, I would be more vigilant of this sort of thing, and will always make sure to give them credit/ask permission if I use their photos or any other professional photos again.
Long story short, I take this sort of thing very seriously. People make mistakes. I recognized that I made one, immediately fixed it, and learned my lesson for next time. Don't hop into my comment section and ignorantly claim that I'm stealing content when that is very clearly not the case.
One thing that is pissing me off is that they didn’t even try and make Dina the same. 😢 I do love how they made sure to include Ellie’s tattoo tho!

Videogame Ellie is skinny and gaunt, short haired and looks like a young woman.

This is her biggest role as a young actress by a country mile.
Think of the sacrifices Joaquin Phoenix went through as a WORLD CLASS actor to became Joker..

A fictional character has physical and non-physical aspects and both are important. When a character doesn't look the role, it breaks immersion and it deters the audience from believing they are real in the world of the story. So it's completely valid for people to be upset over this, I don't get those who think it's weird? This isn't about Bella'a looks in general, it's about whether she fits the role or not and she clearly doesn't.
I also don't get why everyone's clothes are so clean, another point that breaks immersion.

I think the hair is longer because in the game she does her hair similar to how Tess does it. In the show Tess's hair is longer than it is in the game, so that's why Ellie's hair is longer in the show!
I'm not sure about her sneakers though. Usually she's wearing a pair of Converse but she's wearing boots this time around so I'm not sure why they've done that.

I mean Ellie is not a real woman but tlou is pretty realistic as aside from a few small things, Ellie looks older despite being 18-19? that is due to depression stress and anxiety, covered in dirt/blood, eye bags bruises, not to mention being in a post APOCALYPTIC world, I don’t EVEN think they really ate or drank like that, it’s EXTREMELY realistic so why they couldn’t put a little make up to make her look older due to those circumstances is beyond me. Ellie changed a lot but it looks like there’s not even a little change besides her hair and a little tattoo. Now I loved her in s1 she was great but s2 should’ve been someone who was 19-24/25 and resembles Ellie, no hate she does look too young to play tlou2 Ellie. they could’ve done better with the casting or makeup imho. it’s gonna be great regardless I have faith it’s gonna be faithful to the game

In the game despite them being 19 they were looking more mature. Also i think Ellie (Bella) needed to have a fitter, more muscular look due to this world they live in rn.
