  • SUPboarder reviews the Starboard Touring in the bigger 12'6'' x 31'' Pine Tex construction. A wide touring board that is set up to carry a serious amount of weight, but still offers the paddler a good amount of glide and speed. The Starboard Touring is super stable because of its bottom shape design, and with its easy to use tie bungees and large fin it will make a great touring board for heavier paddlers who want to find out what's around the next corner.

This sounds like a good board for you at your size to progress with. Thanks, Beau

    I'm 1.89m 120kg
would the 14" be a good match for me? if not, could you recommend me an alternative?

Hey Flint. Yeah it could be a great board for you. If you are a fairly confident paddler the size of the board will offer you good speed and enough stability. If you are wanting a board that is even easier to paddle a wider board around 31/32" would be better, but this will be a slower board to paddle though! Thanks Reuben

    Thanks for a great review!
I'm 5ft7 weighting at 155lbs, should I consider the smaller 11.6? Won't have much to carry too.

Either will work well for your weight. The 11'6" will be a tiny bit easier to carry / maneuver, but the 12'6" will track better because of the longer water line.

Would this board be suitable for a 5'10", 145 pound novice paddler?

Hey John, like always it all depends on you confidence and what type of conditions you will be paddling in. But for your weight this board will have plenty of float. So it could be suitable for you. And if you want to paddle that bit further then its a great board. thanks Reuben SUPboarder

If I'm 180 and want to do 2 to 3 day trips, do you recommend this or the 14 x 30 ? Thanks in advance for your response

They are both really great boards. But if you are looking at doing multi day long paddles, maybe look towards the 14 x30.
