I totally agree with the comments about this not being the original Big Country but if it brings their music to a new audience that can only be a good thing. I took my little boy to see them at a free festival in our home town when he was only 5 years old and he loved it. Stuart’s been gone for nearly 23 years now. Those days aren’t coming back. U2 will never be a good band again but does that stop us listening to the Joshua Tree? I do however, think it would be much better if Bruce took the lead and BC got rid of the guest singers.
There's too.much guitars going on . Tommy is good, however, when I first heard about this collaboration, I was concerned 3 guitars would be a mess . Listening to this unfortunately I've been proved correct . Jamie is a decent rhythm guitarist but should never let anywhere near lead . This is really awful 😢
The only way forward now IMO is to try to get Tony back , and continue with Mark,Bruce and Tommy . That really would be closest we'll get to the real thing. Tommy's tribute band are better than this line up .
Time to call it a day . This is not the Big country I grow up with and loved . Lead singer from a tribute band fair play on him .I like Restless natives but first Mike then Simon. How many bass players 4 now 😪
Without a front man and new songs it doesn't seem much like a band, let alone "the" band. There's 2024 shows of Jobson's Skids on UA-cam and they're full of life, fun & some tributes to Adamson. I'd have thought Jobson would have a far harder time putting a band together, but he's done ok. Brezezicki on drums isn't enough to make Watson & Watson jnr. playing together seem like a band.
As a life long fan since seeing them with Stuart in 1983 - this pains me, but this isn't great.. normally so tight and on the money, this is painful and for me, unless there's a major rethink, it's maybe time to hang up the guitars
Time to knock it on the head Chaps! Woeful methinks! This is 'Just a Shadow' of the original Big Country. (Pun intentional). Bruce and Mark are doing their best, but there was only one Stuart Adamson, and he's been gone for many a year, and cannot be replaced. This Muppet looks like he spends more time studying hair dye, than actually rehearsing! Mike Peters came close, but then again, Tony Butler was still playing bass, and he was a massive part of the Big Country sound. I was lucky enough to see the original Big Country many times over some twenty years, and this performance is farcical!......Rant over!
@@Holygasoline A great drummer, very underrated....He'd be better off sacking this pub standard, second rate tribute band & sticking to session work IMO.
@HumGuitar 100% - It's sad & quite tragic. The jerk in glasses, clowning around & unpracticed playing just adds to this travesty, and makes it a piss take.
Thanks for posting this, 40 years after this came out it still sends a shiver down my spine.
i loved BC back in the 80s and saw them twice, you can't carry on with one original member
@@The.Last.Guitar.Hero. yep, that’s true. But I see them as a tribute band now. Not sure why Mark B has now left though.
Decent anything that keeps Stuart alive
It’s good,following in the footsteps of Stuart,love it ❤
Tommie Paxton - just amazing !! How good did he sound !! Swindon - 21st Sept 2024. 😍
Jamie should have let Tommie take that lead, like in the wring key and confused everyone
SUUUPER BIG COUNTRY RULES😎💖🍺🍺🍺🍺🇩🇪👍

Sorry this is shite, almost a parody... Big Country were a seminal band. Probably time to knock it on it's head now, and remember those great anthems.
Doesn’t sound right….

Funny that thier sold out can’t get a ticket anywhere near me.

Garbage, the Watsons just not good enough,no wonder Mark left, hes far too good for this farce

Bruce plus Jamie are usually so tight, but what the hell is going on here. Tommie needs to stop the theatrics.
I’m sorry, I love Big Country, but this is not good.
Agreed
Full of mistakes, should have left it in the past
I don't understand why Mark isn't playing with massive international bands , should have been with the cult
