- Super easy DIY How To Install WESTERN FILTERS ProVent 200 CATCH CAN in a 2021 Isuzu DMAX & BT50 4JJ3. We install a @westernfilters1 MANN + HUMMEL Provent 200 IV catch can into the DMAX & BT50 4JJ3 as part of their full install kit. It's an easy DIY catch can install. This is the new style Provent 200 IV with the OP Valve Integration.
Highly efficient oil separation providing ideal protection for the turbocharger and other components installed downstream. A ProVent 200 will stop all contaminates going back into your air intake manifold and we believe remove the need to block off your EGR valve, as there will be no oily residue in the system.

😀 About VideoShowMeHow
-----------------------------------------------
⏩ Where did this start?
I really enjoy tinkering with different projects - they usually require a whole bunch of research and learning along the way. It's satisfying on doing a thing and standing back and going 'Yeah! Totally did that!'. I had a bunch of mates asking 'how did you know how to do that?' and 'I couldn't never do that myself so I thought; I need to start something where I can help others that might be thinking the same thing :)
⏩ What will you find here?
The purpose is simply to make these videos as top quality and helpful as I can. They will always be free, there's ZERO agenda and the only motive is to try and upload what I would want to watch to help with that particular project. I'm also keen to keep building this little community and will try to answer all questions when asked - fire away :)
⏩ What's with the gloves?
Not after any UA-cam fame here which is why I'm not in the vids - they're not about me they're about the how-to! I used the gloves for the first couple of projects I filmed which just happened to be messy ones and it kinda just became a thing. Plus adds a little more personality I guess :)
New videos are being uploaded regularly so if there's something you'd like to see, have Questions and/or Comments drop me a line.
Cheers guys.
Adam

G'DAY Adam,
Just picked up the BT50 and will be doing most of the mods you've shown here. Thanks heaps mate for the videos you make I'm sure they not only help me visualise what's required but many many more people. Great job.
Oh and just fitted the same catch can.
Great Video Adam well done mate, Pre Filter kit would be a good thing to do a Video on.. You are the only guy on the internet who does this for the new Dmax and it bloody awesome, keep up the good content.
Thanks mate, pre filter vid already done, out in a fortnight 👍
Hey Adam. Huge thank you for the videos. I've done 5 of your mods and the videos help no end. Looking forward to feul review. Don't be afraid to show basics every time for us first timers. Cheers Troy
Cheers mate 👍👍
Catch can definitely a must have with modern engines with direct injection and EGR 's. Will be fitting one when mine arrives!
Agree!
Would love to see an installation of a catch can for an Ford Everest 2023. Thanks .
Just picked up my21 bt50 and the catch can is on my list of reliability mods. Great to see a how to vid to help prepare. Keep up the great work 👍
Congrats on the pickup 👍
Excellent video Adam, very informative and easy to follow. I feel very confident that I can now install my own catch can. Thanks mate.
Glad it was helpful
Never ever done any mechanics or mods but you have inspired me to have a go. I'll let you know how I go as you certainly make it look easy - I hope!!!
Music to my ears, you've got this 😉😁
Another great video mate, I've already fitted same catch can along with pre fuel filter from WesternFilters, long range tank, grunt tailgate assist, tjm snorkel and waiting for off-road animal bullbar. More to come.
Sounds awesome 👌
Good day Adam I’ve fitted a Provent filter and the fuel extra filter to my ripper 2021 dmax twincab ute love their products 💪🏼👌🏼🇦🇺👍🏽🏆
Great stuff mate! getting one put in soon, just did the rhino roof racks with the back bone on mine looks mint, they just released them. I recommended it 👍
Awesome video Adam. Should be getting our PV 200 this week.
Best reliable thing I’ll be doing to our Dmax is changing the oil in between services.
hello Adam im just about to ibuy and install a catch can to my 2018 mitsubishi triton ute thank you for the video ..... then in the near future will be looking at a tune up for fuel ecomy and a bit more power.....
I'll be getting one !!
Great video mate, just ordered my kit using the code. Thanks legend 👍
🤘
Gotta say, the DIY raptor liner is the top of my list so far.
Keen to do this also. Raptored a bunch on Jeep and did a vid for a the channel a while ago, keep to do the tub on the dmax now
Done, cheers Adam… I just fitted the drain hose to catch can first 👍
Another great vid, ordered mine and arrived today 👍, install on the weekend.
Discount was niiice ✌️.
Cheers 🍻 georgie boy 😎.
Great stuff! Enjoy 👍
Can't wait to put one on my MUX! When I get it sometime this year!
With the 19 or so videos that you have posted I am probably going to do about 7 or 8 of them when my 22 X Terrain finally turns up. Cheers
nice vid mate
Catch can and secondary fuel filter on my 79. Just gotta wait for the dmax to arrive to do the same to that.👍Thanks
Is far away now? Hopefully the wait isn't too long!
@@VideoShowMeHow Another 3-5 months.🤞
Had EGR go on my navara at 4 am towing boat to go fishing….not fun. Wish had known at catch cans before that. 3,500km into mu Isuzu and loving it and this channel. Provent is on the way!!
👍👍
Get my Dmax this month! Woohoo!!
Haha nice!!
Generally I think, having no mods is most reliable.. However I do think this one is a must, and have been procrastinating about it since I bought my dmax in April. I just used your code and ordered one in so thanks again for doing the hard work for us. P.s. no mods is also boring.
Cheers Phil
Bought one of these from Western Filters a week ago, thanks
Hope you were able to use the code in the vid for some extra bucks off 👍
Sure did thanks
I got the direction plus can and preline kit that mounts up front, if your getting cold weather it's good to drain often as it seems to build a bit of condensation in the drain line. Although yours might get less as it's closer to the motor. Yours definately has better/easier installation though. Spring clips drove me nuts.
Good tip!
Really solid video. Upside down ChrisFix, haha.
Great video mate! Wish you are still doing 'VideoShowMeHow' in your JKU 2008 CRD!! 😃
Mate, me too! I miss that beast 😥
Done same mod only thing I cut the drain hose shorter rather than zip tie it to the brake line
Like to see a video to install on the Ford F150 3.5 eco-boost system.
Thanks
Thanks for yr great presentation once again. Just installed mine. What are your thoughts on installing Munji egr delete?
Not a fan personally as want to keep things legal but each to their own
Awesome Vid mate🤙just intalled one on ma Dmax while its still new. Would you reccomend changing the intercooler piping from rubber to hard piping?
Nah no real need, maybe down the track as the factory ones age etc unless you're keen for a bit of bling
Need to install drain hose before install. Much easier
Hello i from Malaysia
Nice one, I already did mine but good to see I got it right ;). I installed the drain hose to the filter first though. Also where you installed the clamp for the hose be careful there is a brake line on the other side you don't want to screw into :). When are you doing the fuel filter??
Already done, vid out week after next :)
sweet buying one now for my dmax that is due for delivery in January!
Hi Jarred, when did you order your Dmax? I'm still waiting on mine ordered it in March and still no ETA.
@@ahmad6453 july an january is just the estimated time could take longer or could get it earlier
@@ahmad6453 Ordered mine September 2020 got delivery in March 2021.. All I can say is, it is worth the wait.
Yeah nice nice least you get the 22!
@@rajahhindi3921 I hope I'm in the same boat. The dealer told me the same .. looking forward to the heated seats lol and red stitching.
The best reliability mod I've done is to take the lead out of the right foot.
Hey @Benny you've won the merch pack mate! Shoot me an email videoshowmehow@gmail.com and I can get out to you!
I know this video was a while ago but I just installed my western filter catch can and unsure where to attach the drainage hose as it seems quite long… thank you
hey hey - connects to the bottom of the catch can, check-out step 10 in the video
Hey Adam 100% is the secondary fuel filter from Western Filters. Real easy to install and comes with everything. Just like the catch can does.
Just ordered Both which is pretty handy from Western Filters.
Yeah agree mate, have I've installed as well, that vid is filmed and will be live in a fortnight 🤘
Hello friend good joob
Ironman commercial deluxe bullbar & gvm upgrade. The next one is a uhf & catch can. Should a catch can be installed straight away? I just got a 2021 my19 mux
In my opinion, yep
Hello Adam . A mate has just installed a Provent 200 kit into his 2022 D Max . The position is different as it is mounted in front of the battery and beside the radiator. Is this an option or just maybe another company/branded kit ? Ta . Enjoyed your video by the way .
Different kit, I prefer it on the hot side as the hose runs simply aren't as long
hihi, want to ask what is the diameter of the factory PCV hose, thanks
Hola. Instale el mismo sistema. Pero al pasar los 90 km/h produce ruidos
I'll give you all a clue why the installation of the drain hose was mysteriously skipped.... No matter what the instructions say - CONNECT THE DRAIN HOSE TO THE CC FIRST!! Feed it down through the chassis as you place the CC on the bracket.
Hey Adam
I've got a new Dmax coming in a couple of weeks. I've already ordered a few things for it, one being a catch can. I've just recently seen a vid on youtube about the possibility that it can cause a pressure build up in the crankcase and start to leak oil out the rear main seal. The vid i seen, the filter was only about 10k into its 40k life. Was just wondering if you've had any issues with your catch can?
Cheers
Chris
No issues at all. I do know there's some fake units out there without the pressure relief valves. So far so good for me, ran one for years on my JK crd not issues either.
Would you consider adding the Munji EGR delete cable in addition to the catch can?
They're not for me, keeping the rig legal
What is the size of the hose? Is it 1 inch?
Hi Adam, do you have a link for the catch can you used on your jeep wrangler crd?
Is the same catch can as this, sorry don't have a link other than the one in this vid description
Im from indonesia.
Alot of mixed reviews on dmax + catch cans alot of people saying it causes gasket leaks due to high pressures being restricted with the can
A genuine provent has pressure relief built in. As with anything, needs to be maintained to work, eg emptying every 5k or so,
Hey Adam, what do you think about a 2nd fuel filter?
Think they're a great idea, have one installed and filmed, vid up in a fortnight :)
Hi, did you have the drainage tap zip tied to the ABS lines?
Hi, no have loosely attached to a bolt behind fender. Not really needed but just want to have a backup in case of weird angles offroad
Hi Adam,
Awesome video ,I was waiting for this install. Just shows how easy its to install with proper guidance, will order one today and will be installing myself. Cant believe this video saved me $350 as that's how much TJM charges for install.
On My D-Max I've got snorkel and electronic rust prevention installed.
Also question : looks like you got A/T tyres , that is something I need , what make ant type are they ?
Hey mate, easy save of $350! You can total do yourself. Tyres are Maxxis Razr AT-811 - an agressive all terrain tyre. They're 285/65/18. If you're doin any sort of offroading but particularly dirt/rocks I would recommend upgrading from the factory tyres yes, they're just road tyres (not very strong offroad).
Have you got a kit for the 1.9 rg dmax yet please
Best to speak with @Western Filters on this 👍
Do u have any link to buy this stuff? Gonna install to my D-Max
Yep in the video description 👍
To be honest the provent 200 and my after market provent look identical in every way.
Hi just wondering what engine oil are you using in your D Max for top ups
I'm running 15/40 from the dealer, if you're topping up needs to be the same as what's in there
I have a catch can and prefilter, on there way from western filters.
They're good kits 👌 Have the pre filter also (vid up 15/8 😊)
hey mate, noticed you said you previously had a jeep. what jeep did you have if you don’t mind me asking? and how does it compare to the dmax?
cheers, Lachie
Yep sure did, checkout the channel for the full walk around vid I did for the sale (and for me to look back on to be honest 🥲) Can't really compare, the Jeep (Turbo diesel JK) was a totally different build, super capable off-road, not really a daily. DMax is much much more refined, much better engine, much more comfy etc. My Jeep was a rock crawl type build, jeep is a super comfy tourer/tow vehicle is kinda how I see it
@@VideoShowMeHow thanks for your reply mate.
I’m coming out of a 3.8L Wrangler and into an X-Terrain but am still pretty uncertain.
I sold the Jeep and have been pretty bummed about it ever since, i loved it, never had an issue with it.
I’m torn again between keeping the Dmax order or getting another wrangler but your message has helped me out a little.
I’m in need of better economy, comfort and reliability.
cheers again.
Yeah mate still miss my rig, but the dmax is a whole different world. Zero regrets. If I'd kept would only take the Jeep on real hardcore tracks but would prefer the dmax for everything else, it really is a great do it all vehicle. Get the dmax mate, you won't know yourself. Besides, I need the support bringing the jeep wave over!! 😜🤘
@@VideoShowMeHow loved the jeep wave, will definitely try start up the dmax wave with ya 🕺🏽
Can this model be used on a 1.9 rz4e engine as well?
Yep
Can these be bought in the UK? I've had a google but can't see them sold anywhere
Does the link in the description work for you? Unsure if they ship international? Otherwise could try an approved ebay distributor?
@@VideoShowMeHow Thanks for the reply! It says they don't ship to the UK unfortunately. I think I may have found them now doing a bit more digging on eBay
Whats the difference between these and the cheap ebay copy ones apart from the rip off price ?
These have proper pressure relief built in and a filter that actually works
I would do mods that voids the warranty til the warranty ends because the best thing about the warranty is if something breaks the dealer will replace it for free!!
Catch can doesn't void warranty
@@VideoShowMeHow Oh ok thx for the info
Going in for the 3000 look over not really a service will see if the say anything about catch can
Take the warranty book with you and show them the bit under 'your responsibility' where carbon build up isn't covered
Just picked the D max up nothing said about catch can or fuel filter all good.
is this necessary on the new dmax?
In my opinion, all new diesel 4wd should have them
@@VideoShowMeHow why though ? And what will go wrong without it
@@jkpisces talk about it in the first 2 mins of the video... To give you an example I recently drained mine and got 155ml of oil from the catch can after around 5k... Without the catch can catching this it would have been all through the intake system and over time clogging EGR, sensors etc. There's LOTS of info out there on catch cans on diesels, worth a look 👍
@@VideoShowMeHow just wonder why not many install it here in my country but will research it out .thanks a bunch
@@jkpisces checkout the short I just uploaded, gives you an idea of just how much oil vapour it catches
I'm surprised you have to cut/trim hoses on a 'vehicle specific' kit?
Could get away without, I was just keen for it to be a little tighter if that makes sense 👍😊
The replacement filters are expensive.
They're about $60-70 AUD but are good for around 35k so depends how you look at it :)
Can you add the replacement link? Also the 2nd fuel filter aswell?
@@MP-hf3jn hey mate sure can do, will update shortly
I know this video was a while ago but I just installed my western filter catch can and unsure where to attach the drainage hose as it seems quite long… thank you
I show this in the video?
