I don't think this justifies its price tag. The Boss LS-2 has as many or more signal routing options and the EHX Tri Parallel Mixer has one more channel, phase inversion toggles, EQ, and individual send/return levels.
What would happen if you would cross-connect send A to return B and send B to return A? Any mixing tricks to be achieved like that? Create a feedback loop in a way?
Hi there, great video! But I realize that the blender is only mono. I don't have a stereo signal through the FX channels A/B - always is a left ear, any chance this to be sorted? I read a lot about this, and I found that there's no chance for stereo signaling if I want to use it as stereo FX mixer Am I missing something? cheers
I’m trying to find something like this pedal but for stereo pedals. But I don’t think it exist. I’m attempting putting a mono pedal in the mix of a stereo chain without loosing the stereo image.
@@Hamppzah that actually looks like it would work for what I'm trying to do. Its only got the single RTS input but with a splitter you could plug in L&R. But geez these signal blenders are more than the pedal im trying to cheese in 🙄
Great! I am thinking in using it to split mi signal into two amps. Wondering this, and see if it could work: a combination of scenario 1 and scenario 3 , having Chanel A with the dry signal and sending it from send A to one amp (scenario 3). Chanel B with delay , scenario 2; and output to another amp. Could it work? Also.... have you tried putting any effects before the signal blender ?
Yes, what you described should work just fine! If you check out my video on my pedalboard you'll see that I keep my whole board before the signal blender and have just one pedal after. Play around with the placement though! It just makes sense for my current setup to have it at the end of my chain. :)
I think so… I would have one output of the zoia be the full wet and one output the dry so you could mix with the signal blender. I think that is possible! I might give it a try sometime.
I'm not super familiar with the LS-2, but with just some quick research it seems different to me. I don't think you can do parallel effects with the LS-2. It looks like you can change the order, but they remain in series. Whereas the Signal Blender allows effects to be parallel from each other.
I have the Boss line selector. Sometimes when I use it I hear either a radio or television coming thru my amp. Therefore I wouldn't recommend the Boss LS2 to anyone.
@@kevwyxin Well, you can mix the A and B channels together - that is possible with the Line Selector. If, you mean, parallel as a way of mixing both channels.
Awesome video! It helped me a lot. I don't know if I'll be asking too much, but do you think you could make a video about parallel drive pedals using the Signal Blender? I'm tempted to implement that into my sound, but I just cannot find enough examples on the web.
Do you experience any noise clicks or pops when using the signal blender ? ie when switching between loops or turning on and add A/B ? Also do you ever experience ground hum? Or additional noise ?
I’ve noticed some ground hum yes. I haven’t noticed any clicks or pops when engaging the loops or switching between them. Just the ground hum. But it fluctuates as to how bad or noticeable it is. Sometimes not an issue, sometimes it’s pretty annoying. But I just attribute it to having my whole board plugged into a different outlet. 🤷♂️ Some in my house seem to make it worse than others.
kevwyxin gotcha - thanks - just wanted to make sure before purchasing - also super appreciate your vids - they’re easy to follow and perfect for non-technical dummies like me
Hum.....somewhat similar to Boss' Line Selector, but a tad more complex - if I were to get a signal blender it would be Spaceman's Mission Control - that one is incredibly impressive!
@@kevwyxin Haven't tested MC yet, but from the demos I did find it quite interesting - as for the Signal Blender, seems fine - OBNE make excelent pedals (I have their classic Dark Star and Flatlight) - but I really fail to see anything here to make me want to try one. Nice demo, though.
I love this pedal except for one major drawback: the 1/4" jacks on the top are way too close together. It's impossible to wire this up with any combination of Eminence pancake jacks and Neutrik jacks. They can't all fit. All the demos I've seen using this are using straight cables, which are completely impractical for a pedal board set up. It seems as though this was designed and released without sufficient use-case testing. If I want to put this on my pedal board, I'll have to replace all my cables to accommodate it.
I use the EBS flat patch cables and it’s tight, but possible. That’s what I use for my pedalboard at least. I do agree they are quite close together though.
@@kevwyxin There appears to be a newer model of this pedal (at least the other has a different color design). Do you happen to know what the difference is between this one and the other model?
Scenario 3 at about 11:15 is my example of this. It's the same concept and setup, only you would have three amps instead of how I routed the audio into Right channel only, Left channel only, and a single mono channel.
This is your best RTM manual yet! Great pace, personality, mustache density...
Thank you! I put a significant amount of time and thought into it, so I'm glad it shows.
Just got a Signal Blender, great demo of what it can do thanks 🤟🏽

I haven’t tried that yet! I’ll give it a go (carefully) and see what happens!
I use this as a distortion channel, delay/reverb channel and dry channel. It’s the other lesser thought of use.
Now I’ve been using it as a chorus channel delay/reverb channel and then distortion into dry. Also it works as a limiter.
very nice video man, it helped a lot, greetings from spain..
Glad it helped!

IMO Lehle's D.Loop SGoS does it better, because the ins and outs are TRS.
I’ll have to check that out! I haven’t heard of it before!
Can I run this into a powered speaker and monitor?
As long as the speakers accept a TS (unbalanced) cable then I don’t see why not.
