Most people would say that Lysandre died. In Pokémon Y he probably did. But Xerneas has the ability to share eternal life. Lysandre even told the player, Shauna, and Serena to join him in eternal life. Lysandre now suffers a fate even worse than death: immortality. The world will never be in his ideal image, and he will suffer the pain of endlessly waiting for his type of world to be built.
What's funny about this situation is just how doomed to failure Lysandre's plan was in the first place. Think of who Lysandre has chosen to repopulate the world for his "utopia." A bunch of thugs and self-centered idiots! Even if Lysandre succeeded in blowing up the world, I could guarantee that Team Flare's grunts would have overthrown Lysandre and his so-called "perfect" world would have turned into an even bigger crap-hole than it was before Lysandre destroyed it. A perfect exercise in futility and a testament to Lysandre's great big folly.
The virgin Lysandre - Tries to kill everyone/give everyone immortality - Fires a blast out of his headquarters - The blast barely makes it out of the thermosphere before falling down on his headquarters with him in it
Anxious Mircat / Bisnek :Why Lysandre is so evil that he’s actually a ginger hitler trying to wipe out all of humanity for the sole purpose of creating a beautiful world!!!
What if the firing of the ultimate weapon created the great crater of Paldea, and awakened, created, or powered up some sort of Pokémon to bring Pokémon from the distant past or future
Can someone explain how Lysander was gonna use Xerneas’ power of life to commit genocide on the planet? Wouldn’t that make everyone live forever? Or just like in game he intended to launch it on his own base just to give his team eternal life. But then how would he go about killing everyone he opposed off?
Yeah Lysandre is definitely a ginger version of hitler of Pokémon trying to blow up the whole Kalos Region just by using the ultimate weapon of AZ’s to create a perfect beautiful world of his.

I hate how the game forces you to leave him behind to commit suicide
It really makes me cry

I can't belive lysandre is fucking dead
I'm glad Team Flare died when the ultimate weapon fired and destroyed itself!
Perfect scene
Wasn’t firing the ultimate weapon originally how the timelines split? If they fired it again... wouldn’t that make a whole new timeline?
No, because the legendary Pokémon dragged too much of its energy here, that's the reason it didn't even destroyed the little town it was in.

Pretty much he was killed while everyone else escaped.
[FaZe] XxX_1080_Noscoper_Shrek_XxX Or in X, the machine failed to give him immortality and exploded instead, thus killing him.
