    Thanks for beginning the video with “before” and “after”, demonstration. Very important step, to show your viewers why they should spend 5 minutes watching the video. Besides that, very informative content, you also provided an acronym to remember the process. Keep these posts coming up.

    Hello Mike Russell. May I say THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! I have a Pro sound man who sets up my sound in my closet/booth for my different mics. I moved a while ago and he couldn't seem to get it 100%. It was definitely good enough to put out broadcast quality, but something was missing. It just didn't have the punch. I stumbled upon one of your vids about your ENCN and I totally absorbed the video. I have figured out that If I apply the ENCN after my sound setup, IT FREAKIN ROCKS IT!!! It now has that punch that I am lacking. But for some reason that I can't figure out, I can not save my history of these settings. I have tried to find a solution on UA-cam but can't find one. I would really like to have these four settings on a hotkey but get a message stating that history can't be saved. If you can help me can you send me a note at joewieseavoicetalent@gmail.com? I would really appreciate it.

    • @MikeRussell
      @MikeRussell  4 роки тому +1

      Hi, thanks for the compliment. At this point in time the sometimes unnatural sound of text to speech is a limitation of the technology. What you can do is to try and work with changing the rhythm of the speech by inserting or reducing space between words to try and create a more natural flow.

    Might have asked this in another one of your videos - where in this chain would you throw in the noise reduction, and once or twice?
    We should use our ears, but what's good practice? Use-case: voiceover with a good USB mic (Rode) with unfortunately little gain in a well-treated space. Appreciate it. 👍

    • @MikeRussell
      @MikeRussell  Рік тому

      Ideally you wouldn't use noise reduction at all as any noise reduction is going to reduce the quality of the audio. If you have to use it then you want to use it at the start before processing. There are two schools of thought on this, some say use it once, others say run two passes with lower reduction.

Just curious the ins and outs of what you show vs the ER workflow... also, I noticed that some of the effects are NOT in the ER, so is that why? Is it because you don't have to apply, they just do when used from the top menu? Just a student looking to learn... Cheers.

    How can I use the "Normalize -1" in a Multitrack-Session? (it its greyed out)

    • @MikeRussell
      @MikeRussell  Рік тому

      Normalise only works in the waveform, not in multitrack. Multitrack is non destructive editing.

    So where would things like noise reduction and restoration techniques fit into this process, for example if I am running a noise suppressor plugin?

    • @MikeRussell
      @MikeRussell  3 роки тому +1

      The idea is that these wouldn’t be needed by getting a decent quality recording. The use of any noise reduction technique degrades the quality of the audio.
      If they absolutely must be used then they would go at the start of the process.

    @MIKE i have not got anything in my favorites menu: I'm guessing normalizing is this root> Effects > Amplitude & compression > Normalize (process)
    then set setting to -0.10db and apply?

    Sir can you do some live streaming preset tutorial for Audition? I want to add a filter mic boost using a virtual audio cable that would be so much to me sir thank you so much!

    • @MikeRussell
      @MikeRussell  4 роки тому

      I wouldn't recommend this as it will add terrible latency. You'd be much better with a hardware processor ua-cam.com/video/iBBKFlw01qo/v-deo.html

      I managed to fix the latency to my stream and its like no latency at all I've watched some of your vids and mix it up all together and I have some good mic audio in my stream now!

    my audio is quiet. And is still quiet after all of this.
    I thought normalize made everything around normally the right amount of loudness.

    • @MikeRussell
      @MikeRussell  3 роки тому

      Normalise takes the loudest part of the audio and matches it to the target you set. The rest of the audio is either increased or decreased by the same amount.

    Hello! I have this audio clip from the phone of my late grandmother and I'm having a hard time hearing all of it because it isn't audible bc I think she recorded a lil bit far away from the speaker(person talking). Can you help me? I have no means to edit the audio clip since I don't have the appropriate gadget and application. Thanks! I hope this will get noticed. God bless!
