I consider perhaps the most explanatory and detailed channel in the technical solution of the problem. Congratulations! I hope you continue with your new videos on this method! Thank you very much!
Great video and troubleshooting, I used your method on flooding the EEPROM with flux and solder and then sliding it away to a bare spot on the pc board, worked very well. Thanks
Very well done! Unfortunately it was not clear to me, if when replacing the EEPROM, is it necessary to reprogram the new chip? -Visio E320-A0. i have 5 all with thsame trouble - no picture, no sound - power ok
I am impressed with how well you diagnose the problems and share your knowledge with everyone. I need to find a shop that will troubleshoot at the component level. Do you accept a tv that is sent to you and if not can you recommend a shop in the Orange County California area?
Hello. My tv just recently died out the other day. I'm getting power from the main power supply to the board, but I'm not getting anything from the connectors around 1:37. Any idea what I should do? Thanks
So I replaced the Power Supply and the main board I get a light but no light both boards are the exact match for the TV but the power cord is not an original power cord any suggestions on what else I can do ?
awesome bud. i have a samsung, backlights work, all voltages are coming out of power supply board. whats your thoughts on Tcon or video card bad? i have no sound either.
Thank you for the video. My son checked all of the components. We have the Vizio logo light when the set is first plugged in then that fades and the screen never turns on. Everything is similar to yours on his meter. Does anyone know what else to check?
You most likely have a bad led in the tv and the defective led would have to be replaced. This is a hard to do repair and would not recommend trying this unless you feel comfortable doing it.
and would not recommend trying this unless you feel comfortable doing it. That is a silly thing to say, there TV all ready does not work what do they have to loose?
ok power board looks good testing it, testing the main board its getting power from the power board, so the power board and the wire from the power board to the main board works, so i did the button test that he did and i got nothing, then i tested the few points he said to and nothing, then i tested the e promp points all of them and all of them were zero but one and it was about 0.3 0.4 volts, so correct me if im wrong so im guessing the main board is fried ?
I have a dead 320i-a0 and I would love to see a quick video explaining how to remove the back panel without damaging the plastic. I removed the 15 screws but it is snapped together, too.
Update. I got it apart without damage to the plastic by wedging in some plastic shopper id cards (similar to credit cards but disposable) between the front and back panels. It was not easy and required a bit of patience.
I plan on buying my tv parts from your website and would like a clue as to what my be causing my tv to not power up. I have the Vizio E320-A0 hooked up to a Ruko3. When pressing my home 🏡 button on the ruko remote it use to power up the tv normally, but now it momentarily powers the white LED at the front of the tv before fading out, tv will remain off. Tv remote doesn't seem to turn it on, nor does it even power the led. About the only thing that seems to power the tv on (sometimes) is unplugging and replugging the power cord. Any ideas would be appreciated.
JVC uses this same board in some of their flat screens and the same problem exist.I actually put a main board from a Vizio and put in a JVC. The only problem was the Vizio screen shows up when the tv first comes on .
I'm looking at a Vizio E421VO. When you turn it on, you can see the Vizio splash screen, then it goes to the source menu, but it's all distorted and it starts flashing on and off, along with popping noises each time. A bolt of lightning hit the ground outside my friends house and went up through the coax cable. Can that be the EEPROM? Thank you Mike
I have a Vizio E420-A0 that has a power light comes on then fades away. I replaced the main board and no luck. I have tried unplugging the LEDs and hope that would make the TV come back on so at least I can determine if its a LED strip or Power Supply problem. Please help
Hi northcal i have an e322vl... I have amber vizio lgo but tv wont power on...i have 5 v stndby but no other voltages on ps.....it does seem common issue is eeprom u18....should. Try an replace the chip?
i have a different tv, Element. I have no backlight so i changed out the power board and still no backlight. any troubleshooting suggestions as to what i should look at next? main board, t-con,etc....
With a high powered LED flashlight press the light right up to the screen while the set is on and pressing menu and see if you can see a menu in the background that will tell you if it is a backlight or main board problem let me know how it goes
@@norcal715 Thanks Man. I tried the flashlight, nothing showing and when I check voltages going to LED strips (5 connectors) I get 120vts on first connector, 87 on second, 55 on third, 24 on fourth and 2 volts on fifth. Could the main board be causing these problems? This is an Element ELEFT502. Thank you again!
Wow it sounds like maybe a main board problem. Does the power supply on command stay active? PS ON or STB? Do you ever get any backlight flash at all? What model is your Element? I will do what I can to help you.
@@norcal715 Maybe best to take this off line and I can send yuo an email from start to where I now am and what I have done? Do you mind posting your email? I greatly appreciate your help.
@@norcal715 Here is a run down. I see Red light when plugged in. When I press power, the light turns blue, there is no sound, no backlight, no picture. I did the 'flashlight' test and I do not see a picture. I have replaced the power board and no change after that. I was wondering if I had a back light issue, but I would still have sound even if that was the problem. So do we suspect the main board to be faulty? Model is an ELEMENT Model # ELEFT502
when I plug in it it there is no led power light then I press it and it goes dim then I press it again and it goes bright then off should I just return the main board since I just got it today
Usually they are VERY set specific even to the extent that 2 of the same models may have subtle differences like a different panel manufacturer and may have different eeproms.
i have same tv but when i plug in power cord the white led light on front lowwer corner comes on and fades away and no power when turing turn on you think this is same chip problem

When you plug in a set with this particular issue, does the led, indicator, light up then fade out?
I would love to see you rewrite an Eprom.and what you use to do so.
+DizzzyKipper that's my question too...
In college we used an Apple computer to wite to our eeprom
I bought mine over 6 years ago refurbished and still works amazing.. maybe i just got lucky but i think thier great sets

Are the voltage checks at at the end of the video with the unit powered on, or just plugged in?

Is the eeprom empty or you had already writed data on it? If empty can we erease the defect one and re-use it?
So you had already written data to the eeprom that you soldered in?

Great video. I just got in a Vizio e320-a1 and i'm pretty sure it's the common eeprom issue. This was a good tutorial on how to replace it. Thanks.
