Nice to see those that are still passionate about the craft especially when everything is either smaller or in a throw away society. Good job from a tech who has been repairing since the vacuum tube days and still going.
i agree--i try to fix what i can before chucking it out (dont like the idea that something usable would unnecessarily end up in a landfill). I dont have the tools, knowledge or skills that BD has. However, i watched his entire video--excellent presentation. thx BD.
FREEEEE TV!!!!!, i found this exact TV on the side of the road under a bunch of boxes waiting for the garbage truck. the wife and I were on a walk through the neighborhood and she walked back with me covering her face because she was so embarrassed by me routing through the neighbors trash. this is what was wrong, I got a new 4k 50" TV. she accepts now that it wasn't a ridiculous idea (this time). i didnt have a heat gun, but i did have a butane pen torch and a fancy kitchen thermometer rated for 500 degrees. so, I layed the thermometer on top of the processer and heated it from about 2-3 inches for short bursts to keep the heat applied the right amount to the immediate area. I am so happy! THANK YOU!
I punched this model into search with words "black screen" and found this video. I have to thank you for being spot on as this fixed my TV within a few hours. Hopefully its better than the factory solder job now and will out last its previous life span. I used the open flame method with a pencil butane torch with foil carefully taped around the chip. worked great ! I do have years of soldering and radiator/brazing/welding and get the concept of heat control and gave it a try. I do need to get a hot air station in my life. Thanks Again BigDog 8882 You Rock Ive subscribed and liked 👍
So I’ve had this exact same TV for probably 5-7 years now and all of a sudden it wouldn’t turn on. The power light would come on then fade away, then blink one long blink, then 15 blinks after that. I found your video, watched the entire thing, grabbed my heat gun, and watched it over and over again while following the tutorial. The first time I was too afraid to hit the processors with 400*F and it didn’t work, so I took it apart and hit it again this time with a thermometer on the processor and cranked the heat gun up to 500*F while making sure the thermometer showed at least 350*F on the processor. Pressed down and held until connections cooled enough to harden and let it sit for a couple minutes and plugged it in and what do you freaking know… the backlight is now coming on the TV is working again!!!! Thank you so so so much!!!! You just saved me from spending money I literally do not have!! I cannot thank you enough!!!
Buddy you just saved me several hundred bucks for a new TV I was ready to go buy since modern tv's are modular and people hardly repair now days. Even though I'm a retired technician I wasn't gonna fix it after I checked the power supply and seemed like it was working, thinking I didn't want to delve into troubleshooting the rest. I live in Canada and everything is harder to find and more expensive than the US. My tv (vizio 43-C1). Taking a chance to buy the main board for a couple hundred $$ including shipping and not getting it to work I thought was not worth it since a new lower end tv would cost 400$. I saw another video where the guy changed the main board three times till the vendor sent him the correct one. So when i saw your video it made sense thinking it kind of reflows the solder beneath the big chips when you heat to 3-4 hundred degrees. But darn, my heat sink is soldered on the board so guess what, couldn't unsolder it obviously because the heat of two solder irons doesn't melt the solder. So I did heat on top of the heat sink to 600 degrees and put it back in the tv and low and behold, it worked. Anyhow, can't thank you enough, keep up the good work!!
Worked like a charm! When the TV first started the screen was blue for a flash, then green but immediately after started working as normal. It worked so well I also did the board for an M55-C2 that I thought was dead (same symptoms) . I had already paid 75 bucks to a repair shop to fix a M55-C1 last year. Here's a hint too, I used aluminum foil with a small square cut out for the chip so I could shield the rest of the board just in case.
Sir, I've not posted a UA-cam comment in well-over a decade but wanted to give praise where it's due. I have the same TV as demonstrated and was fortunate to stumble across your video in search of a fix.Thank you so much for this walk-through. Your procedure was methodical, well explained, and you saved me a few dollars (just the cost of a heat gun). I hope many others get to see your video for this ridiculously simple repair, as it's one of the gems on UA-cam. Peace.
Just a little knowledge for you. When the TV actually fails to boot, the reason why the vizio TV fails to boot is not because of the mainboard, but because of a faulty Google Chromecast, update that came through on the smart TV side of your television set. That's why you get the black screen death and the only way to fix it is to physically quickly press input, get it over to p. C. And then go into settings on menu and do a firmware update.
Unbelievable. Fixed a dump find 70" 4k Vizio by heating up the microprocessors with a cheap heat gun and some tinfoil. Thank you so much for sharing your talents!!
This corrected the issue with my D55u-D1. I had suspected the bga needed resoldered, but wanted to see if anyone else had the exact same issue. Thank you for posting this video. Another TV saved from the scrap heap!
Hi Big Dog. Great videos. I’ve watched a lot of your videos and learnt so much. Ive got the same model Vizio D55U tv with no backlights or picture. The on off light would light but starts to flash repeatedly. I tried everything you suggested in all your videos to no avail. I ordered a replacement main board but when I put that in the symptoms changed a bit where the backlights would now come on and the Vizio logo appeared but then went off with a totally black screen and the on off button flashing 15 times. I got another main board but that was worse. No backlights or picture with that in. The thing that fixed both of the main boards was baking them in the oven at 300F for 10 minutes each. I got the oven up to temperature then put the boards in as they were. No takingany of the heat sinks off or anything. Lo and behold both of them worked once I put them back in my tv with all the original parts, PS, LED bd and TCon bd. One main bd still has a problem with HDMI 5 input but everything else works fine. I’d tried heating the chips up with a heat gun, changing the EEPROMS , swooping out all the other beds . I even replaced all the backlight LED strips as one strip was very dim and another had one LED out . I know you don’t recommend baking the boards in an oven but it’s the only thing that got my tv back up and running. None of the plastic connectors melted or parts fell off. I just left the board in the oven to cool off then put it back in the tv. Thought this might help some of your other viewers as it’s taken me about a month to fix this thing. By the way the power supply for this model only supplies 19 vdc to the main bd and 24 vdc to the led driver bd. The main bd then produces its own 5 vdc standby voltage . The 5 vdc voltage shows up on the power supply connector but it’s not generated there. Thanks again for your great videos. Couldn’t have fixed this tv without your knowledge.
I never leave a comment on videos but I gotta say thank you very much I've been trying to fix my TV for a month and your video helped me bring my TV back to life !
Hey Dog, My Vizio M43-C1 would power up with the "V" logo and the "on" light bright in the left bottom corner then fade with a blank screen. Then the Indicator on light would flash 3 times brightly. I heated the chip you showed after following your disassembly proceedure. My unit is a bit different tho. Anyway, Heated it to about 320° with a heat gun for about 30 seconds. Put it back together and she came back to life. Thanks for your unselfish sharing of knowledge!
Thanks for the information. This fixed my Visio D55u-D1 55 inch tv. I would have never had a shot at fixing it until this video. I will add that instead of taking off the heat sink cover, I heated up the opposite side of the circuit board. This method worked for me and the television works great now.
My sister just gave me a M43-C1. It had the heatsink soldered to the main board. It also did not have the blue and red LEDs installed. I used a heat gun on low on the back side of the cooler processor. Heated it to about 400F. Took about 7 minutes. Works great! Thanks! I won't even mention the smoke detector 😜
You Are The Master Mr.Big Dog...I'm was doing the Hot Reflow on 380 Degrees,Now I have 2 same Vizio D55u-d1 and I will fix tomorrow following your strategy...Thank you very much for share your Knowledge!!!
Thank you, sir! My Vizio D55u-D1 had the exact same problem. I followed your steps, heated up both processor units on the main board with a Ryobi cordless heat gun, and the TV is working great now. I did have to use a putty knife to loosen the main board with pink foam blocks from the TV chassis. I also used tinfoil to try to deflect the heat from the other parts of the main board, cutting two holes the size of the processor units. Great video - very much appreciated!
Holy Heatgun, Big Dog! Thank you, thank you, thank you. You inspired me to try to fix my totally dead E75-E3 using your process. No power, no led, nothing. Bob Jackson, thank you for oven technique…I was barely handy with screwdriver to pull back off TV, so knew I could not do Big Dog stuff. But desperate enough to try the oven exactly as you said. I used glass tray to hold board in oven. Incredibly, It worked 😂😂😂. TV came to life. Great help guys 😅
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! Every other video I found was a total waste of time. I was preparing to have to buy a new tv and found your video. My tv works perfectly now! Can't thank you enough.
Hey! many thanks for this video. I just fixed a Vizio D50u-D1 by heating the same chip you show in the video with my rework hot air gun set to 400C for a couple of minutes. This TV would show the Vizio logo, and go off, and restart a few times. I followed your steps to check the PSU, the LED backlights, the LED board, and then went to work on the mainboard. For anyone attempting, the first time I heated that chip (same as in the video), the TV still didn't work afterwards, so I repeated the process once more. Also in my case that chip wasn't completely cold, it would warm when the TV still didn't work (confirmed with a thermal camera) but I guessed I should try resoldering it anyway, since other than that I would have to replace the board, and that fixed the TV.
Thank you BigDog! I just fixed my Vizio 55 thanks to your Video.. I got a replacement Power board hoping to fix the No power/image problem Just a quick white light on the bottom left and nothing... the new power board did not do anything. I was ready to take the TV to the curb.. and I'm glad I stumble into your video. The Reflow of the Two processors did the Trick! the thermal paste was completely Dry.. I cleaned the two processors really well, added new thermal pads & thermal paste and voila! Got my TV Back. Tank You!
Just subscribed to a great detailed video, which I just found today. 4 years ago I sent my 55” Vizio mainboard away to be refurbished for $99 and it is still working great to this day. Symptoms, back then were none of the HMDI inputs receive a signal, so no HMDI devise would work. The rabbit ears worked for local channels, and the AV or component Yellow, red and white worked for older DVD player. Had your video been available 4 years ago I would have tried your fix, since I had to take the TV apart to remove the Mainboard and send it off for refurbishing. I like how you showed how to trouble shoot using a multi-meter on DC volts. Our 42” Vizio works if you do not mind waiting 10-15 minutes for it to warm up. It comes on right away; you just cannot change anything for 10-15 minutes. No volume, up or down change, no change of TV input, etc. We have been living with this for a long time. I took it apart years ago, thinking I would find a bulging capacitor, but they all looked fine, so back together and live with problem. Any ideas?
Wow, I can't believe it, but so far it appears this fixed my TV! My Vizio 55" had gone "black screen" a week ago so, after watching this, I bought a soldering & rework station off Amazon for $39, did what you did, and now it appears I have a working TV again. Hopefully it will stay that way, but regardless thanks for the great video!
Sincerely, thank you! I've got to go get some thermal paste before totally reassembling, but it seems like I've fixed my 8y/o TV! Last week I had my Segway scooter randomly die. I was really defeated, but the next morning, woke up determined to fix it. Replaced the control board, and now it's running like new. Fast forward to this week, and as my luck has it...TV died in the middle of 1993's Malice, starring Alec Baldwin, Nicole Kidman, and Bill Pullman (even a young Gwenyth Paltrow makes an appearance!). I couldn't believe it, never had a TV die on my like that, mid scene. Anyway, I ripped that puppy off the wall and got my screwdriver. Had it apart before pulling up this video, and I knew right away (probably bc of the fire alarm beeping) that you had me covered. 🎉🎉❤
I don't leave comments on UA-cam. However I feel like it's time to give credit when credit is due. I just finished doing this step by step and it works! Thank you for the details. I would like to point out on my smaller 43" version the heat shield was soldered on so that took some time to heat and gently pull apart.and the same putting it back on making sure it was pressing against the chips afterwards. But other then that, it 100% worked for me. Thanks again.
Hi! This Is Adán . I bought a same model an size TV about 3 weeks ago, after watching and followed your awesome video directions, having exactly the same problem I fixed my TV bought locally thru OfferUp for 20 dollars. Thanks for your very interesting videos!!!
Thank you so much. My Vizio TV has the same black screen problem. According to your instructions, I bought a hot air gun from Amazon, 400 degrees Celsius, and it took about 2 minutes. It had been turned on normally.
Many many thanks to you my friend!! Your video helped me bring a D55-E0 back from the dead. Found it had a bad power board (power light finally came on), and then I pulled out my heat gun and reseated the CPU on the mainboard. To my amazement it worked! Thank you so much for saving the day! One thing I did do on this TV (don't recall if it was in this vid) was carefully scrape off the old thermal paste, clean it up with rubbing alcohol, then add new thermal paste to the CPU before reseating the heat dispersion plate. For others watching this video-- make sure you reapply new thermal paste or you could nuke your TV.
Instead of using thermal paste I recommend using TIM aka Thermal Interface Material. Reason being is that thermal paste can be subject to 'thermal pumping'. When the electronics go from hot to cold parts expand and shrink. When they do this it literally squeezes the paste out. With TIM material (I call it bubblegum) it does not happen. In fact, if the TV had thermal paste in the first place this could have caused part failure as the paste was 'squeezed' out!
I'm glad I watched this video before I gave up on fixing my Vizio TV. Great job of explaining how the use of a hot air blower can solve a simple problem. I do have a rework station for building kits for my ham radio station. Great video again and thank you.
I can answer any questions you have I’ve got the back off n was attempting to troubleshoot but don’t know much n I’ve been watching your videos tho n learning some things
This worked for me too! I was almost ready to throw the TV away, until I found you. . My heatsink was soldered to the board, and looked like it would be very difficult to remove, so instead I applied a lot of heat directly to the heat sink over the processor and it worked like a charm. In addition, I happened to have a small USB powered fan laying around, so I cut a small hole in the back of the TV case directly over the processor that lost it's connection. Hopefully that will help to keep the temp down and our little repair will last that much longer. Thank you!
Hi big brother just to let you know that fast fix really works on my visio65" model p65e1. Almost change the eeprom but after I saw your vlog. I was impressed on that technique...thank you so much!!!God bless and keep on sharing....
Holy crap I followed your steps to the T and sure enough it worked I'm not crazy smart with electronics but Holy crap 😳 I feel like a bad ass now. Thanks my man for the super detailed video and hel0
I wanted to leave my thank you @bigdog8882 that after seeing your video, I saved probably more than 100$ on replacement parts. This is my 4th week in after a self repair on my personal vizio d55u-d1. I ended up with a heatgun set to 350 Celsius and used it for about a min overall (because my damn smoke detector kept on going off lol) and it still worked out just fine for me. So thank you for saving me here and hope you keep posting these great videos!
Your video helped me fix my Vizio P65-C1. I had it narrowed down to the main board but wasn't quite sure where to go after that. Reflowing the two BGAs did the trick. Thanks!
Wow…. Just followed you step by step and diagnosed a 4K vizio I bought that someone sold that wouldn’t turn. It has the same issue. No volts on that same top on/off pin. Just subscribed. Shout out to you and @tampatec
Hey......!!!!!! Thank you soo much man!!!!! My TV is back up and running!!!!!! It didn't work the first time I heated the processor up but I think I heated the wrong one, so I opened it back up and heated both, turned it on and it worked!!!!! Thank you again!!!!!
It worked, thanks for the great video! Not bad fix for a free TV, only 1080P. but great to put in a kids room. Vizio's aren't the best brand and I've ever worked on over the years but it's not the worst brand either. The brand I see with the most problems are LG and Insignia, and all the cheap Chinese brands not many people have heard of. One thing you might have done but missed is to clean the IC's off with a Q-tip and alcohol, then use new thermal grease before you put the big heat-sink back on. That old heat-sink grease is usually all dried up, and running just a few degrees cooler can save years on computers and TV's.
@@nafl350 The classic Arctic Silver 5 is still one of the best and most reliable. I've used it forever, and my temps on ancient desktops and laptops have still stayed much lower than before (applied on items when both factory-fresh and 1-5 yrs used)... Critical to apply it properly, though, do the research, do it right and it'll amaze ya... >;]
Thanks so much for posting this repair. I have the D50U-D1 and it had the exact same issue with the same processor chip. Thanks to you my TV is now fixed!
Love your stuff BigDog gonna try these trouble shoots tomorrow and if all goes well I’ll put this up in the garage 👍🏼 instead of posting it on offer up for free. Thanks ! keep um coming!
I have this exact TV and I’m going to follow these steps to see if it works! I was about to have the TV picked up for a part recycle until I found this :)!!
I got the same tv just now by curb. Carried it in well took 10 minutes to find power button. Then I saw the light on front go off if I look inside the back of the tv I see one white light on.I plugged my Xbox into the hdmi and I think I heard sound. This fix is worth a shot .If this works I will send you a tip
Great video, I'm about to start the same model TV with exactly the same problem. I am a technician and an engineer but my specialty was not TV's, it was power supplies. Retired since 2013, I'll let you know how the outcome of my Vizio that was given to me for free.
Thank you so much brother you are great man. With this video direction I fixed my vizo TV . it is real information. you save me from out more money for maintenance.
I'm picking up a 55 p55-c1 tomorrow...I'm going to plug it up and see what happens...person I got the TV from said the HDMI went out...then no power...I'll keep you posted... hopefully...you can help me trouble shoot the problem....
hey there wanted to come by and show some appreciation , this video helped me a lot i had a vizio m49-c1 that had the same issue and manage to apply the same fix on this video as you recommended , im very happy with the results. thanks again you got a sub with me. and well also i wanted to ask a question if possible. After this specific repair is done how long would the repair last? 😃👍
Thank you very much for the video. I'm a total novice and my vizio has nothing happen when I turn it on. Checked the power supply connection using your method. I'm getting the same voltage readings on all the power board voltage pins whether the plug to the main board is plugged in, or unplugged. The ac power cord has been plugged in for all the tests. Also, same situation with the tv on or off. I'm thinking my problem is in the power board. Do you have any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks again!
It did work in my case, but caution is essential to avoid overheating the chip. Unfortunately, that's what occurred in my situation. So far, everything is working, hopefully for another few years
Hey BigDog thanks forthe video. Worked perfectly! I do have a question for you- On reassembly I forgot to put those square rubber pieces back on top of the CPUs. TheTVs been working well for a week. Do you think they're important enough for me to have to take it all apart and put them in? Thanks!
I also did a repair almost identical to this one last month. I was taking off the main board and it had that almost sticky sponge pads attached to the back. Wondering if you know what the purpose of those are. What if you need to replace them? Do you need to clean up the goo off the back when they are removed because that's what I ended up doing. Thanks for sharing your work. Ended up baking my board in the oven and it worked.
@BigDog8882 thank you so much! Question, once i reassembled the TV i forgot those 2 small squares of insulation that go around the microprocessor...would that be a problem? Btw, supposedly the technician who repaired my tv "soldered" something, but the tv stopped working after a few hours - told me i need to change my motherboard. Now I did your fix and it is still working, so fingers crossed - just need to figure out if i disassemble and put back the insulation (was extremely hard to remove the heat sink cause of the messed up plastic screws)
Bigdog, the best video yet. I have a Vizio with a V logo but will not advance. I Purchased a new Mainboard and the TV will now advance and I can see a picture, but it is upside down. I still have the original board and I wonder if I reflow it will it work again. I think the new board maybe has the same part number but is different in some way. The heat sink appears to be soldered on. Have you seen that? If so, I will de solder the heat sink so I can access the chip. Any thoughts?
@bigdog I have a main board with the same problem but it has a soldered on heat sink. How do you recommended removing that heat sink? I tried removing as much solder as possible via suction and wicking but no joy. Do you have a video showing how you handled this?
Great video!! Count me as a new subscriber. I'm going to try this with a D65-D2 that's showing vertical lines on the center of the screen. I have a rework station so I can isolate heat to the chip in question. What does concern me is that the manufacturer mislabeled the voltages, as you pointed out. That's a little scary, especially dealing with electricity.
Its probably/sounds like the EEPROM IC or a bios problem on the mainboard. In that case, just have to replace the whole board if eeprom chip is not available for your TV model's mainboard.
Nice to see those that are still passionate about the craft especially when everything is either smaller or in a throw away society. Good job from a tech who has been repairing since the vacuum tube days and still going.

Hey Dog,
My Vizio M43-C1 would power up with the "V" logo and the "on" light bright in the left bottom corner then fade with a blank screen. Then the Indicator on light would flash 3 times brightly.
I heated the chip you showed after following your disassembly
proceedure.
Thanks for the tip, Mark. I was able to fix ours by heating from the opposite side of the circuit board as well.
Mine also heated up even though it needed resoldered.
Any ideas?
This Vizio D50u-D1 TV had the same problem! Your fix, fixed it! Thank you so much!
Appreciate your level of detail and your no nonsense approach in delivering the information! Well done, dude!
Except that smoke detector beeping was driving me insane not going to lie!
I 2nd that chirp noise!
Thanks for sharing!
Just came to add to the comments and say this worked for my TV! Thanks for making this awesome video!
Can't thank you enough for the video! Was able to use this hot air method on my M60-C3 just as I was going to give up on it. Great stuff!
I also saw the oven treatment; your method is much more precise. Thanks for the great video.
I'm glad I watched this video before I gave up on fixing my Vizio TV. Great job of explaining how the use of a hot air blower can solve a simple problem. I do have a rework station for building kits for my ham radio station. Great video again and thank you.
Glad it helped
My mom is on a fixed income and you saved the day man. Thx so much
Thanks to your video I was able to resucitate my dead 55in Vizio. We'll see how long it last, but definitely thanks for the solution!👍🏼💪🏼
I admit your a genius! I am not afraid to attempt this research but I don't have the space or tools. This was an excellent video. Thank You.
Nice slippers and change the battery in your smoke detector. Good video.
🤦🏾♂️ one of my biggest pet peeves
Hay big dog I have a video 55 in flat screen that has no sound no picture no back lights either I’m new to this repair can you help me please
I ment vizeo
I can answer any questions you have I’ve got the back off n was attempting to troubleshoot but don’t know much n I’ve been watching your videos tho n learning some things
I noticed your comment after I looked around my garage trying to find what was beeping lol.
This worked for me! Thank you sir! Took about an hour or so. Saved my tv!
Yep fixed a customer's D55U-D1 tv with no video or backlight. Power comes on then fades off. Reflowing that IC fixed the unit. Thanks
Thanks for the video. The heat gun repair worked on my Vizio M60-C3. I am happy I watched.
This worked for me after almost throwing out the tv. Thanks for putting this together!
Good to hear
I liked the louder music while you heated the board. Great touch 👍🏼
Noted Alex.
Glad it helped. Good Job. Blessings!
Your video helped me fix my Vizio P65-C1. I had it narrowed down to the main board but wasn't quite sure where to go after that. Reflowing the two BGAs did the trick. Thanks!
How did you remove your heat sink Travis? Was it soldered on?
@@SilverbackFirewood My heatsink was just held on with a few plastic spring clips, similar to the video. It was pretty easy to remove.
Great to hear!
@@traviscook3874 did you pull the foam type pads off the top too or just heat them up with them on?
@@TylerStevens I did remove them.
Thanks BigDog. I found the same TV today and got it working using your video.I am glad I had a heat gun and some heat sink paste so it was easy to do.
Thanks! This video helps me to fix my dead VIZIO P55; you helped to save it from the trash. Thank you!
Wow…. Just followed you step by step and diagnosed a 4K vizio I bought that someone sold that wouldn’t turn. It has the same issue. No volts on that same top on/off pin. Just subscribed. Shout out to you and @tampatec
Thank you so much! Thanks to you I could fix my TV that I was to throw it away!! I did exactly the same steps and it works perfectly 👍🏼🙏🏼
That old heat-sink grease is usually all dried up, and running just a few degrees cooler can save years on computers and TV's.
what are a couple good, reliable brands?
@@nafl350 The classic Arctic Silver 5 is still one of the best and most reliable. I've used it forever, and my temps on ancient desktops and laptops have still stayed much lower than before (applied on items when both factory-fresh and 1-5 yrs used)... Critical to apply it properly, though, do the research, do it right and it'll amaze ya... >;]
Thanks so much for posting this repair.
I have the D50U-D1 and it had the exact same issue with the same processor chip. Thanks to you my TV is now fixed!
Glad it helped
So what's the best solution for me to go with with my TV not having any power
How do you know you have no power? Did you measure the volts coming from the power supply?
A GREAT VIDEO THANKS SO MUCH I FIXED MY OWN TV THANKS TO YOU MAY THE LORD BLESS YOU FOR MAKING THIS
Seriously can’t believe this actually worked!!! Thank you soooooooo much for this video!!!!!!
You're welcome! and Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas!
Thanks brother, excellent video. Never would have thought to check the processors for a cold one, totally fixed my issue.
No problem 👍
@@bigdog8882 hello do you know where can I get a TCON board for that exact tv ??
This was incredibly helpful. Thank you!!! I am up and running. Saved me some moneyyy and now I have a multimeter for future projects :D
Great to hear!
Awesome, I am going to try it on my D50u-D1. If it don't work I will look into getting a new motherboard.
Well, this is the second time I fixed my Vizio TV using this video as a guide. Thanks!
You're welcome!
Thanks! This worked for me and now my tv is working again. Great job!
Big thanks - My 7 year old Visio 55" 4K is back in action!
Fixed a P65 E1 that had the same problem. Visio actually makes a nice TV
Great video. This technique brought my M60-C3 back to life. Thanks!
I fixed my friends TV thanks to your video!
Nice video, I have the same TV, but when I turn it on, the power light just flashes but unit doesn’t turn on. Any suggestions?
That was the greatest tutorial EVER!!!! Thank you ! I will let you know if it works
Please do!
How did you take off the cover?
Thanks for this post … my TV is back up and running now
Shout out to you..got mine fixed thanks to you .. I did the oven bake on the main board and it did the trick...👍🏻
Same tv with same issue. It works perfect now!! Thanks a lot!!!
So far, everything is working, hopefully for another few years
Hello Sir, thank you so much for this tutorial, it fixed my free TV Vizio.
Good to hear
Thanks so much for this video! It worked for me. Saved the tv! Much appreciation!
BigDog you are the man !!! Loved your video bro !!!
Hey BigDog thanks forthe video. Worked perfectly! I do have a question for you- On reassembly I forgot to put those square rubber pieces back on top of the CPUs. TheTVs been working well for a week. Do you think they're important enough for me to have to take it all apart and put them in? Thanks!
Yes, they help keep the micro IC cool. Very important for preventing premature processor failure. thanks.
Please do a video on how to test standby voltage on LED Tv which has power supply circuit on a main board
This is a great video! Do you think a regular heat gun will work or is that too hot for it?
400c ? Or 400f looked like c in your on screen notification. Thanks !
Bigdog you are definitely the Man and TampaTec. I just fix the same model tv. Thanks
Right on
Bigdog, the best video yet.
Would putting flux on the chip increase the likelihood of a successful reflow of the chip?
Great video!! Count me as a new subscriber. I'm going to try this with a D65-D2 that's showing vertical lines on the center of the screen. I have a rework station so I can isolate heat to the chip in question. What does concern me is that the manufacturer mislabeled the voltages, as you pointed out. That's a little scary, especially dealing with electricity.
Great video! High quality close ups! Love the slippers!
Nice video, I have the same model tv, but the power light stays on but it’s dim, then it gets bright, and the Vizio logo comes on an off continuously.
Its probably/sounds like the EEPROM IC or a bios problem on the mainboard. In that case, just have to replace the whole board if eeprom chip is not available for your TV model's mainboard.
This will work on a vizio m50-c1 ?
Thanks for the video man. Im ginna try that before I throw away my TV.
