God bless the Carter family. I’m already old really old and after seeing all of our president, Jimmy Carter was one of the most kindest, honest, gentle president we have ever had. Which is probably why he wasn’t the best for the job, but he was a good man he was a great man, and he was married to a great great lady Rosalynn, Carter.❤

Good take. And yes, his handling of the Iran hostages and rescue attempt will be his legacy for many. And as a person in the Military at that time I can attest to the way many felt negatively towards him. But he was an honest person who lived by his words and deeds. As a President that is a very hard thing to do.

@jeffschumacher2028 You are correct, he didn't do well in that area as well. He will go down as one of the worst in how he Governed over various aspects of the country. I was more speaking to his character and how he conducted himself after office. I think very few Presidents can equal that if you research it.

Remember, Vietnam was only over 3 years beofre Jimmy became president (and an outsider like him only became president becuase of Vietnam and Wategate, 3 major political assassinations and general mistrust of goverment. Jimmy was, very unlucky. Iran and the energy crisis didn't help either!

Rosalyn Carter was a first lady during my childhood. How sad it is to lose her after all of these years!
My mother was a big fan of the Carters, as well. So now, both she and Rosalyn can finally meet each other in Heaven. 🙏
So proud of my home state of Georgia! Not living there now, but it gave this nation the two finest Christians this nation has ever seen, and I fear never will again. She did so much good in her life for women, mental health, the poor allover the world. They both lived the finest tenet of Christianity. Do for and give to those less fortunate than you. In November 1978 I turned 21 the first time I ever voted. My dad asked me..."are you voting Democrat?" "We gotta vote Jimmy Carter into office...!" Well I voted for Jimmy Carter because I thought Rosalyn Carter would be a great First Lady. She cared and Jimmy was a humanitarian! I voted for Jimmy because my dad told me too and my dad never lied about politics! But as a couple they would keep a law abiding highly moral and ethical administration!
