I grew up 2 doors from a Dairy Queen in 1960s suburban Chicago. The building/signage was exactly like the color print ad shown at the beginning of the video. We all had our favorite treats: My mom and sister liked Buster Bars, my dad liked Dilly Bars, and I liked the dipped cones and Mr. Misty slush drinks (though it took me forever to figure out how to prevent brain freeze!). They always got slammed when the Little League games ended and the coaches brought the whole team over for some ice cream. 60 years later, the DQ's still there, still creating great memories. 🍦🍦🍦

The Dairy Queen I work at has a poster of all the major Dairy Queen events that happened since it opened, from the time it first opened, to popular items like shakes and blizzards added to the menu, and when it first opened business in foreign countries up to present.

It’s hard to get a Butterscotch Dipped Cones anymore, that’s one of my all time favorites!

Dairy Queen has been a favorite of mine since the 70s when I was a very little girl. I got to try my very 1st blizzard in the early 80s to my daughter's 1st job in the 2010s.

Our Dairy Queen in Lockport IL is a walk-up store and for many years only served vanilla. The employees even wore t-shirts that said “we will carry chocolate when the Cubs win the World Series”. After the Cubs finally won the World Series in 2016, they finally served chocolate.

The Dairy Quuen I went to years ago was only a walk up ice cream place.
Around 2009 I had to take my pet degu to an exotic vet about an hour away. There was a full service Dairy Queen near the vet. Since we were not hungry, we didn't go in. We went back home.

When I was a kid we had a Dairy Queen that was little more than a hut. You would drive up and get your ice cream. When I was around 16, so mid 80's, they turned it into a 'Dairy Queen Brazier'. That was the first time I ever knew Dairy Queen had burgers. It was great.

Growing up in 1970s, we had Carvel for treats sometimes. There was no dairy queen in Brooklyn ny that I recall.

They got the idea of mixing candy and cookie bits from Steve's Ice Cream, Davis Square Somerville massachusetts.

I went to a Dairy Queen located in York PA, and it... was awful. Ice milk, not ice cream, is exactly what I received. If you ever had to settle for 1 percent fat milk instead of whole milk, you understand the difference. Plus, there was a sort of chemical-like taste to it. I've never been back to a Dairy Queen since. They used to have a wonderful local ice cream stand in Baltimore's Lexington Market, but it closed years ago. Ah, memories.

@L it's just cheaper ice cream but the government took away water cooled machines and the air machines don't last as long. We got some iced custard plscs around now. Though not in my town. Way better...Freddie's and Cheeseburger bobbies.

Dairy Queen ice cream doesn't taste the same as when I was a kid.
I don't even go there anymore due to the chemical tasting product they sell now.
