Canobie Lake Park is one of my favorite amusement parks and every year I try to do a video at Canobie. Unfortunately we weren't able to make it last year but now we are back with a full tour of the park. Wow! been forever since I've been to Canobie Lake Park, but this vid brings back a lot of memories. Glad to see some of my old favorites are still there (Hope they leave that iconic fountain!). Last time I was there was back in the late 1980s when I went with our town's Camp Fire troop. I will have to go back there soon, preferably during Screeemfest.
Funny story: I was such a scaredycat back then, I shut my eyes the whole time going through the Mine of Lost Souls. Thanks for filming it, so I can see what I missed out on (these days, I'd be gosh-wow-love this thing! over it. How we change as we grow up...)
And the haunted house used to be called... the House of the Seven Gables, after the spooky house in another town called Salem in the neighboring state of Massachusetts.
Glad I could bring back some memories :) the fountain is staying and screeemfest is awesome. Filmed a video there a few years ago and might do it again.
Lol the mine is so much fun! It’s definitely pretty creepy, even as an adult.
Someone else recently left a comment about the hold haunted house and now I want to do some research about it for a potential video

The phsicodrome thing is almost like the flower building in Epcot (Disney World) they hold the flower festival, or part of the flower festival there.
Peely Vlogs ding ding ding we have a winner folks! That building was formally the Wonders of Life pavilion which was abandoned and used as the festival center. I have a video some where on my channel where I creep around the inside and look for abandoned remnants

Sorry for spamming coments but last week is was about 7 pm and there was no line for the log flume so the workers let me and my brother stay on a bunch of times!

Ben Laurence I love that too! I was able to go 5 times in a row on Boston tea party . I was the only person in the boat!!
We went on a semi rain day and they forced me and my sister to get off even though there were empty boats in front and behind us and only two people coming into the line
Always good to see someone enthusiastic about Canobie.
The dark ride that used to be on the midway was called the Swamp. an old Pretzel dark ride you can actually ride the cars today since they make up some of the cars for the Spookarama Dark ride At Deno's Wonderwheel Park in Coney Island.
One correction though Canobie has 4 coasters. I know Dragon is not a big coaster but it still counts.
I also miss the Tiki Maze

@@BenLaurence loved this video can't wait for the dance hall video and arcade video, knoebels is a very cool place with 2 dark rides, 2 great wooden coasters and 2 steel coasters. The park has free parking, u pay for each ride, there's no designated entrance u kinda just walk in, the park was built in 1924, has classic rides like a skyride, a great antique carousel where u catch rings on the side, an antique whip and more.

Thank you so much for filming and posting this! What a trip down memory lane. I grew up in Salem and haven’t been there in many years; this video was like a hug for my nostalgia! So many sweet and goofy memories from growing up related to that park! And legit until I entered high school, I didn’t realize that people outside of Salem/the surrounding towns actually came to or even knew about it 🙈 (But since then obviously I’ve learned mostly everyone in New England has heard of Canobie so it’s an easy identifier to prevent people from mixing it up with Salem, Mass 😂)
Oh yes the food is a *complete* ripoff-except the fried dough is the shit, if they still sell it-and so so so not worth the price. Go literally *anywhere* in town for lunch, like Kashmir or Maddie’s, or pack lunches in a cooler and eat in your car if you don’t want to lose your parking spot.
P.S. good thing you didn’t go in the water because Canobie Lake is the town’s water source, so swimming/going in it is prohibited! And rip the Tiki Maze 🙏
YES Canobie Lake Park is the best, love that place so much. Salem is a very nice town as well. Lol yeah the food is really good though! Rip tiki maze 😭 that place was awesome!

The dark ride was called the rumpus and the changed to the swamp. Just saw it in another video called "Canobie Lake Park Turns 118 Years Old On August 23 2020" he has pictures

They just recently released season passes for the park. First time for the park this season. As for myself, I love the park so much. I even work here. Just have to say, working here and being a guest on other days is amazing as usual.

Hi Ben, the SWAMP, was the midway dark ride there. I operated it in the summers of 1973 and 1974. A game called QUICK WIN was to the left of the SWAMP and my Dad ran that game.

I live in Maine I usually go to funtown slashtown but I miss this place
especially when it's not busy and the workers just let you go on the rides over and over again and you don't even have to get off

2:97 you're talking about the Haunted Mines of Lost Souls. I have been to Canobie Lake Park, and that scary ride once. When I went my middle-school chorus class, my friend and I tried the haunted mines ride and we both petrified! Lol
I believe where Bear Lodge is there used to be a walk through dark ride called the House of Seven Gables. I think it burned down around 1977 #CLP

I remember a couple years ago that there was a mirror maze but they took it down and put something else in its place but I forgot. I remember it was on the right side of the park

The mirror maze is now in the Clown haunted attraction. I can remember when the mine of lost souls was be8ng built. Hell, incan remember when a lot of that was being built. Tea Party, Cork Screw Psycho Drone (used to have smoke in it). Love that place.
Thanks for the great info! I didn’t know they moved the mirror maze! That’s pretty cool. I wanna say the move was built in the 70s and then refurbished in the late 80s. Duuuude the Pychodrome with smoke would be awesome! I love this place too :)
I really like mine of lost souls too but sometimes to make it even better I go later on in the day like 1-2 hours before closing but it improves it because it’s dark out and when the characters have lights on them it really make them stand out

The maze was my favorite too. My cousin hit her face on one of the mirrors super late at night and started crying and we had to go save her

The Tiki Maze was called the CRYSTAL ORBITOR at first and the park could not safely maintain it anymore. That attraction stood on that spot for decades.

The Pinball Parlor is depressing. So many good pins, all in terrible condition :(
I know :( it’s pretty sad. A few of them were pretty good, mostly the newer ones. They also fix the Atari Hercules so I feel like they’ll start fixing the other ones as well. I’m guessing someone at involved with the park (the owner or a manager) is a big pinball fan

WOWWWWWWWW, I went there a few times close to 40 years ago, do they still have that TURKISH TWIST where it spins and centrifugal force holds you against the wall as the floor falls out
