In my opinion, a park that has 50+ rides, but less than 5 roller coasters is criminal, but if one or more of those roller coasters is very well known and famous (Like Yankee Cannonball) or if all the roller coasters are good rides, then the park gets a pass, and Canobie gets a pass because of how well known Yankee Cannonball is.
I like coasters but I think the modern tendency of the big parks to put in huge numbers of roller coasters threatens to become excessive--there are other kinds of rides! It used to be that a major theme park like Busch Gardens or Hersheypark could be viable with only three or four coasters in it, if they were really good. (I suppose this is still true if your name rhymes with Shmisney.) Canobie is a small enough park that it's hard to imagine it having many more coasters than it has.
Dude ran me thru a classic park from my youth. 6 years ago i accidentally became a Dad. Got married bought a house and have brought my daughter EVERY September of her life. Her furst ride was the GORGEOUS carousel. I cried as she beamed (she cracked her first real smile the month before) the whole ride... then got mad when the ride stopped. We ride 18 times before she passed out.... then i got to go on the Cannonball. My last 5 visits were the best of my life... each better than the last. My wife and i never tell her when we are going. When she sees the yankee cannonball and the flags at the entrance... she loses it! GOING NEXT WEEK!!!! Can't wait!!
The waterpark doubled in size a few years ago and it's still slammed all the time when it's open. It needs to get bigger, and I imagine that's what they're going to do with the plot where the Corkscrew was. Supposedly they bought a Zamperla NebulaZ that they're going to put somewhere back around Untamed, but they're taking their sweet time installing it. They could use a new fourth coaster too, but I don't know exactly where it would go. They took out the Tall Timber Splash slide, but that plot is relatively small unless they expanded into the parking lot.
I remember being on a school trip to Canobie, we went on the Turkish Twist, Right when the floor dropped my boy started to sing "you spin me right round, baby right round", the driver welled at him saying "this is a family park"!!!
You really captured my childhood park here. I'm a native to the area and grew up going there every summer. I'm old enough to remember when they had a swimming pool! The Boston Tea Party is easily my favorite ride in the entire park. It's simple, yet fun! Perfect for a hot, summer day! Always pack a change of clothes or a bathing suit for it though lol. And an absolute requirement after each ride is to stand on the bridge and get soaked from the next boat! Also, the Turkish Twist is a good follow up as well. It's a spin cycle! Perfect for drying off after the Tea Party and it's conveniently located around the corner from it!
@@CanobieCoaster I cant tell you how many times I went on the Turkish Twist soaking wet and slipping down the wall slightly despite the g-forces holding you there!
As someone who makes it a tradition to go to canobie every summer I have to say log flume is in the top 3 but going on Boston tea party and then running over to psycho drome to stay dry never gets old! Last time I went Turkish twist only dropped the floor for a few seconds, and sadly I’ve never gone during screamfest and haven’t tried both the horror rides only open during halloween.
I missed so many of these during my first visit 10 years ago. This list and your recent reviews will be excellent resources for my trip next month! I'm glad their rotor is still clinging on after all these years.
I’ve been going to Canobie every summer (except last year due to COVID) since I was 2 years old! My favorite ride is Extreme Frisbee but Untamed is a very close second. I love the variety of rides at the park, I’m sad that they got rid of Equinox because that, along with Extreme Frisbee, were really the only thrilling rides. I can’t wait to go again either at the end of July or sometime in August
I used to go to this amusement park every year on my birthday. I'm pretty sure my school is gunna bring us there, and that park was one of the best parts of my life.
@@CanobieCoaster I also learned some more things about this park, from this video. Like, Ice Jet was originally the Matterhorn. Something I learned before I saw this video was that Zero Gravity's original name is Round Up. I haven't tried all the rides yet because I was a scaredy cat back then. But I'm willing to try rides like Xtreme Frisbee, I would've tried the Equinox if it was still there
As a ride operator in past seasons that worked at several of these attractions I can say the spinning at OTR does get out of control at times especially among the kids. Wipeout is often mistaken by some as a kiddie ride but it's a black diamond and one of the more intense attractions. Psychodrome is not recommended for people with seizure disorders as the lights and music could cause seizures. I don't have seizures but was having headaches after operating it. CLP has built their business on providing fun for all and wants their guests to make memories. Going there as a kid and then working there as an adult I got to experience both sides.
Canobie Lake park is a nice little park, not the biggest park in the world but has special stuff to it and a good ride lineup. Only 4 coasters but it doesn't really need more. My favorites would probably be untamed, the drop tower, Yankee Cananball.
I guess it's been a long time since I went to Canobie Lake Park. The only ride from your list that was there was the Yankee Cannonball. Although at the end you showed the old gondola like a ski lift that I enjoyed getting an overview of the park on. I guess I would be lost there now. Thanks for the tour.

I remember when l was a child my parents took me to Canobie. We came to the Turkish Twist ride not really knowing what it was, but it had an interesting name, and me and my dad walked inside to find this weird black round room. Neither of us knew what it did. At the last minute l got nervous and bad vibes about the ride and walked upstairs to the viewing platform, leaving my dad. I watched in horror as the thing started to pick up speed and spun insanely fast as the bottom floor went down and the people were all plastered to the wall. My dad got off that thing and was white as a ghost. He thought he was having a heart attack. Never again he said. Never for me l said. Great times.
I don't think there was a line that day. I know went a few times in the 80's and that ride was always closed. So we had no idea what type of ride it was. Great list by the way. I have always enjoyed wooden coasters, and the yankee cannonball is great. I know the corkscrew is kind of rough, but l still like it. I can't speak for Untamed, because l haven't been there since they built that one. But Canobie is a great park. It may not have the most thrilling and latest innovations, but it's beautiful and has something for everyone.
My favorite ride was the break room when I worked there 😂 I understand why people like the mom and pop feel to this park, and it certainly was something I enjoyed from ages 6-13 years old. But as I got into my teen years and eventually worked there for 4 seasons, I’ve come to realize that it is just an overpriced, horrible line waiting, money grab these days. The rides aren’t fun besides untamed and yankee cannonball. My favorite part of the starblaster is the noise it makes. And it’s just lackluster compared to almost any other park I’ve ever attended in my life.

Thank you for this video. I no longer live in New England. My last visit to Canobie was over 30 years ago, but most of my memories are from the mid-1960s. There used to be a "flat" circular ride with beautiful carved wooden horses that went gently up and down. The ride went around in a circle while music played. It is probably about 100 years old. Is it still there? It was off to the right, near the Dodgems (bumper cars) and the Whip, as you came in the main entrance. I'm glad to see that the old wooden roller coaster is still there.
I wish eqinox was still there. i was to young to ride it when it was at the park but it looks like it would have been so much fun to get to ride. i hope they add another flat ride that is like that.
i moved away from NH a few years ago, stumbled across this video and ur making me nostalgic!!! gotta say tho, as a short person, i hated the corkscrew lol. everyone i know why is like, 5'7 and above thinks its a decent ride, the rest of us come off with one hell of a headache
is untamed new? i dont remember it at all. it looks like its in the place where the wooden coaster was. i love roller coasters so i would have defiantly gone on that if i knew it was there
Also my home park. I’d also agree this is one of the best log flumes I’ve ever been on. Anyone looking for more thrilling rides/coasters take the drive to six flags New England well worth it
Six Flags New England has the two best coasters in the region, but Canobie beats it for beauty, games, food and relaxed vibes. Other regional dark horses: Lake Compounce (go for Boulder Dash, stay for Phobia Phear Coaster, Ghost Hunt and the waterpark), Story Land (adorable NH kiddie park that somehow got a beast of a Gravity Group junior woodie).
Yankee cannonball is definitely number 1. I gotta say that the xtreme frisbee is my personal favorite. Im surprised the zero gravity didn’t make the list
I think the best new flat ride for Canobie should be a Lasron Looper or something like that. Maybe an Endeavor by Zamperla as they are too small to ever get an SLC.
Just went again today with our season passes. I absolutely hated the Equinox the one time I rode it lol. It felt like being stuck in a dryer! I actually wonder if the Frisbee has been slowed down a bit this year. Or if my rides on the Turkish Twist has warped my view lol
Hey, Ive gone to canobie a few times, and sadly i've never gotten to ride a coaster because the lines are always overpacked. I also went on the Turkish Twist one time and im suprised I didnt hurl. Anyways, keep up the great content!
The secret to Untamed is to use the single-rider line--it's around in the back of the station. You never have to wait more than a couple of minutes to get on. But if you want to ride the Yankee Cannonball, there's no shortcut. And it's definitely the most popular ride in the park.
I love canobie my favs are the first one u mentioned, untamed, the swings, the 2 gravity ones the one where the floor drops and the other spinning fast one and the frisbee I wanna go so badly right now but idk if I can make my parents take me
Aw man I love policy pond log flume I did it with my parents grandparents and cousins it’s a very fun family ride I’d say especially with the worker at the peak who I think ask if you wanna continue yes or no as if the option was there the whole park is definitely worth the drive from Boston
Oh dear, I remember going into carnivus as a little girl and my dad wound up having the carry me out! Still remember a clown trying to comfort me with a shoulder pat while I prayed for him to walk away lol
I don't know if a carnival is worth a trip from NH to PA, but my local two-weeks-a-year carnival still has a Tango (I think). I'm hopeful that St. Michael's Carnival (run by Reithoffers) returns this year, after cancelling last year for obvious reasons.
I rode a KMG tango at the Wisconsin State Fair and it was totally nuts!!! Sad that it probably isn’t returning this year but hopefully it will next year!!
Miss the corkscrew. It wasn't the best, but it really rounded out the lineup. I recall hearing that they can't surpass a certain height for their buildings - hence why they focus more on ground rides as opposed to coasters.
I live like 30 minutes away from here and this park is awesome! So friendly but also so expensive! $45 a ticket is absurd! But those are the prices now I get it, but it’s not going to Disney and spending thousands😅 it’s nice in the summertime! it’ll have park attractions like a fake Taylor Swift, which I saw so cute but yeah definitely worth it. You should try it out if you’re near or have the time to go out.! a great park
Hey canobie coasters I’m going to canobie this Sunday. Any tips/suggestions/ food recommendations you would like to share. Also what do recommend doing at rope drop
I have a full review video that goes into more detail on everything, but from a high level- Dancing Bear Canteen (by Tall Timber Splash) is the best food in the park. If you plan to stay all day, save the water rides and dark ride for the evening. You should then rope drop the Yankee Cannonball and Untamed (no single rider line currently). Psycho Drome is another one to ride early if you can handle the spinning on it since that has a low throughput.
@@CanobieCoaster wasn't it "USA Missle"? That ride was hilarious. I remember laughing hysterically with my buddy in high school when we went on that ride. Apparently they still have it in a storage area somewhere, or at least they did a few years back.
i went on the log fumes and i thought i was gonna die cause i was in the front and the bars were slippery so i didnt have a good grip. And then there was like a picture when you go down
The footage used for the Frisbee was from my local park, Adventureland on Long Island. That’s a sweet little park but not one to include on any best of list. It’s got a swing like DaVinci and a new one like Joker from SFNE.

untamed was one of the rides i would never go on as a kid but now that im going this saturday i might try it out
It's over quickly if you don't like it, but I think it's a lot of fun.
Yankee cannonball is definitely number 1. I gotta say that the xtreme frisbee is my personal favorite. Im surprised the zero gravity didn’t make the list
Yankee Cannonball almost got the top spot.
Equinox was my number 1 at the park too. I got lucky I had ridden it 8-9 times.
I'm jealous!
I think the best new flat ride for Canobie should be a Lasron Looper or something like that. Maybe an Endeavor by Zamperla as they are too small to ever get an SLC.
Either would work!
I went to canonize park yesterday
I mean canobie
Nice!
Try to guess if I went on untamed yes or no
I miss the Kosmo Jets. It was very unique. Also the mirror maze was cool when it was spinning.
Those were classics.
Just went again today with our season passes. I absolutely hated the Equinox the one time I rode it lol. It felt like being stuck in a dryer! I actually wonder if the Frisbee has been slowed down a bit this year. Or if my rides on the Turkish Twist has warped my view lol
I loved the chaos of Equinox.
Yule Log Flume>>>>Bamboo Chutes>>>>Policy Pond, if we are ranking NH flume rides.
I put Policy Pond at the top, followed by Yule Log Flume and Bamboo Chutes.
I LOVE the haunted mine!
It's a fun one.
The Turkish twish is my fav ride! I was there the other week and I went on 4 times (I somehow don't get dizzy on it)
Great spinning ride.
I've only been there once but honestly one of my favorite theme parks
Such a charming park.
@@CanobieCoaster spent $75 on a single cup from there 🤣 easily the best purchase I've made
Hey, Ive gone to canobie a few times, and sadly i've never gotten to ride a coaster because the lines are always overpacked. I also went on the Turkish Twist one time and im suprised I didnt hurl. Anyways, keep up the great content!
Thanks, this park always gets crowds.
I loved the Turkish Twist. I always got yelled at by the operator for turning sideways lol.
The secret to Untamed is to use the single-rider line--it's around in the back of the station. You never have to wait more than a couple of minutes to get on.
But if you want to ride the Yankee Cannonball, there's no shortcut. And it's definitely the most popular ride in the park.
I love canobie my favs are the first one u mentioned, untamed, the swings, the 2 gravity ones the one where the floor drops and the other spinning fast one and the frisbee I wanna go so badly right now but idk if I can make my parents take me
Hopefully you can!
@@CanobieCoaster I overheard my parents saying we could go during fall to go on the Halloween rides
Aw man I love policy pond log flume I did it with my parents grandparents and cousins it’s a very fun family ride I’d say especially with the worker at the peak who I think ask if you wanna continue yes or no as if the option was there the whole park is definitely worth the drive from Boston
I agree it's a good park.
Oh dear, I remember going into carnivus as a little girl and my dad wound up having the carry me out! Still remember a clown trying to comfort me with a shoulder pat while I prayed for him to walk away lol
Oh wow!
Equinox is back in the uk
Surprised it wasn't scrapped.
I don't know if a carnival is worth a trip from NH to PA, but my local two-weeks-a-year carnival still has a Tango (I think).
I'm hopeful that St. Michael's Carnival (run by Reithoffers) returns this year, after cancelling last year for obvious reasons.
I've seen that exact Tango being set up at a NY fair a few years ago.
I rode a KMG tango at the Wisconsin State Fair and it was totally nuts!!! Sad that it probably isn’t returning this year but hopefully it will next year!!
Hopefully!
going tomorrow with 3 other friends, really exited to ride untamed, the flume, yankee cannonball, and boston tea party
Enjoy!
Miss the corkscrew. It wasn't the best, but it really rounded out the lineup.
I recall hearing that they can't surpass a certain height for their buildings - hence why they focus more on ground rides as opposed to coasters.
I suspect Corkscrew will be replaced by a needed water park expansion.
X-treme frisbee is my fav there right now but i cant remember the last time i went and it was running smh
It has been a while.
Went yesterday and rode it
It was running all day when i was there this weekend
Today I was in the bear rollercoaster
Hope you liked Untamed!
Is the vertigo theater still there? I used to Canobie Lake Park from 1978-1982
The theater has been removed. The yellow dome is still standing, but they moved the Autobahn kiddie car ride underneath it.
@@CanobieCoasterok...thanks
I live like 30 minutes away from here and this park is awesome! So friendly but also so expensive! $45 a ticket is absurd! But those are the prices now I get it, but it’s not going to Disney and spending thousands😅 it’s nice in the summertime! it’ll have park attractions like a fake Taylor Swift, which I saw so cute but yeah definitely worth it. You should try it out if you’re near or have the time to go out.! a great park
The Taylor Swift tribute show was great!
@@CanobieCoaster i know right!
3:32 lmao I thought you were talking about an actual hotel at first 😂
Nope!
They tore down the corkscrew I went there yesterday
I heard.
I’m going soon and I’m terrified of the untamed. Is it really bad or what should I expect?
The ride is over in a flash and a lot of fun.
Now we know where the channel's name comes from
Yes, it was my home park.
I miss the Matterhorn. That, along with the Galaxi and Paratroopers were 3 of my favorite rides.
Matterhorn is definitely missed.
I’m going there this Thursday :))
Enjoy!
Psycho Drome is another one to ride early if you can handle the spinning on it since that has a low throughput.
canobie is also insanely fun during screemfest!
Love that event.
The Rocket Ship ride has been defunct for years, but you can still see it on Google maps in the storage yard if you look hard enough
Cool!
I always liked the Galaxi. Rocket Ship was kind of cool too, unique experience.
USA Mission was a guilty pleasure of mine.
And then there was like a picture when you go down
At least you won't come out of the log even if you slide.
well done video
Thanks!
Isn't Equinox still travelling in the USA?
I imagine it was scrapped since it barely worked at Canobie.
According to coasterpedia, it says it's been operating since 2015
1. untamed
2. yankee cannonball
3. Xtreme frisbee
4. wipeout
5. pychodrome
6. pirate ship
7. star blaster
8. Log flume
9. Turkish twist
10. zero gravity
11. Skateboard
12. Ice jet
13. Boston tea party
14. Da Vinci’s dream
15. Over the rainbow
Good list!
Curious to know if we need to wear slippers/water shoes or normal shoes? and any other things to be prepared before the visit?
You can wear water shoes in the park. I'm not sure on slippers though.
The footage used for the Frisbee was from my local park, Adventureland on Long Island. That’s a sweet little park but not one to include on any best of list. It’s got a swing like DaVinci and a new one like Joker from SFNE.
It's rare for me to see Canobie's frisbee open.
Im going on the 17th im so excited man
Enjoy!
@@CanobieCoaster thank you, im sure i will !
I just went Thursday omg I love canobie
Nice!
I was about 15 when I tried the Turkish Twist ride but i had to cry cree before it exceeded the speed lol my chest felt so tight
It's so intense.
im definitely going this summer at least 5 times
Nice!
Do u have to wear a wrist brand when u enter?
No
