Excellent video and explanation. I recently bought a 2008 RX350 with 180,000 miles. Love it. This oil leak just happened to mine. I had to add 3 qts of oil and drove a short distance to a shop. Repair should be done this week when part gets in. Funny thing, the AFS light started flashing a couple days before the hose burst. The light resolved itself the same day though. I wonder if the two things are related somehow? I wish all mechanics are as astute as you to see the sensor line disconnected and make that repair. Good job 👍
Buddy need your help....I bought Ls600hl recently with 234000 miles. I changed the oil after it was showing low oil status on the dashboard. After a week of changing the oil, the message came again. Checked the hood and dipstick and no traces of oil. Is it oil leak or something else?
just had this happen, came to search for a video and it was like your video was meant for me.. we have a 2009 with both issues. just ordered the part . Thank you !
Lexus did come up with the same stainless steel pipe. They also extended the warranty to 10yrs 150000 miles from first use. They must have known what a crappy design the original was.

It's likely burning the oil. Check it for external leaks but if there aren't any it's burning oil. You could try changing the pcv valve but it's likely worn piston rings.
Is this the replacement part that’s in the campaign 9LH? - rubber portion of the oil supply hose for the VVT-i actuator If so, the MyLexus website says mine got replaced but I still see all rubber, not steel.
These 3.5 engines had the recall , but if customers did not get it done by 10th yr from the sale date , no recall warranted after 10 yrs. So get your vehicle recall checked.
$195 Canadian is the suggested retail Canadian price. Cost was not shown on the video but its around $100 Canadian which is like 70USD. Oh and the Dorman part was available and the dealer was 5 days to get it.
@@siefshloul3168 did it happen recently or a few years ago. If it just happened not too long ago , then that actually lasted a long time for a rubber hose which is normal

I Am Not a mechanic, listening here, gives me the utmost confidence, that it isn't the usual automatic assumption of OH YOU HAVE A BLOWN HEAD GASKET!!

Glad it helped you.
Nice upgrade! Plus, a great AFS fix.
It’s funny how much oil those spray out. A lot of the ones I’ve had have a nice film on the rear window.

Yes I guess I should have mentioned the warranty extension. It's over by time now. Thanks for the tip.
Best place to get the part please? At lowest price?

I believe there was a recall on this piece but there's no Lexus dealer here.

Yes he was aware of the recall but there is no Lexus dealer near here and the local Toyota dealer would not do it
@@PhillipBailey well glad he had found you. Great video by the way and thank you for what you do. I worked at Lexus toyota here in Alaska for 13 yrs .
Cannot believe you sold them the aftermarket at $200 when the toyota TSB replacement can be had for less than $80
