Your work has single-handedly given me the drive to live again and made my soul path so clear. You are very appreciated. I hope life gives you everything you desire.❤
As someone who paid many thousands of dollars for my herbal education (the price I pay for my kind of learning style), I can attest that the information this amazing being shares is just as valuable as what I learned in school, it is as in-depth, and science and heart based. Her level of self teaching is so inspiring to see... and she's right, you're smart enough to do this!
You are one AWESOME individual for giving April props! I can't understand how some take offense or think their knowledge is of a higher standard just because they paid a fee or have a piece of paper with a seal. I thank you for being a stand-up person. I imagine you being someone who would give the shirt off your back to a needy friend, stranger or foe! Hope you have a great week ahead and God bless.
I love your comment. This is the way i learn but i do love classroom style too. I do prefer this style one on one sticks to me like my momma teaching me
the smell of puppies breath some LOVE it others gag.. Interesting enough, I have LOVED it all my life. when I had cancer, the smell GAGGED ME it was nasty.. Happy to say I AM back to LOVING the smell :)
This is exciting information. I live next to a creek ravine full of these trees. I've been hoping to find a natural remedy for my various ailments, and here is the specific medicine that could help me, right outside my doorway. What a gift! Thank you so much. Your every word is a jem, not a jabber!
love your channel I subed a long time ago so glad your back I have done a lot with what I have learned ,,,thank you I love your home u are so lucky to have beauty around you GLAD YOUR BACK...
Yes, it IS beautiful 😍 have to point out though, April & family don't live there through luck but LONG days of sheer hard work and perserveeerance! All documented over on instagram over the past number of years. (As well as that she wrote a book!!!! Bitter sweet content in that as she shares various life events & plant knowedge. I read it in a day. Fantastic content on here & insta, for which I'm eternally grateful 😉
Wow so warm down there for this time of year. I am working in northern Alberta and its dang cold but not much snow. Makes my heart glad to see you up and sharing again. I am hoping to be back down south to Vancouver Island B.C. end of March to start wildcrafting ... starting to count the days ... : ))
What am awesome view! Thank you so much for the knowledge you share. My stress level is maxed. Your milky oats tincture and blue vervain tincture have been a blessing. I bet tea, coffee or anything your drinking taste better just sitting on your porch. What a great passion/business you have created. You can see the respect you have for the land.
I am in Ma, and we are having a warm winter here too. Average temps have been in the 40’s-50’s. Glad to see you back making video’s!! I have learned so much!!! Would love to see more video’s!! You have the most amazing view!!! And farmers porch!!! Blessings from Massachusetts !!!
I have these trees around my home and the bees love this tree because it is one of the earliest sources of pollen. I will pay more attention to them, the bees probably collect this resin for propolis.
Yes! I love that smell of the poplar root too. I discovered it as a kid in creeks in the Appalachian mountains. It smells so unique. Glad to know I can go back and harvest something from this tree
Gahhhh! I was just gifted a downed Poplar Tree from a terrible wind storm in Wisconsin. Spent several hours today harvesting all parts of her. (And cut wood for next year's winter warmth.)
OMG.....you live in a so beautiful place♥️I do live in a village in Northgermany and have the wood and jaws around me.Unfortunately we haven't had snow till yet....the Winter are too warm for Germany we have the last times
Thank you for always sharing your knowledge... I look forward to all your videos ... I even found some pearly everlasting because of you..I was so excited!!

Hi April. I love your videos. I have learned a LOT from your videos. Thank You!!! I have a question....Cottonwood oil and tincture...can you use the bark in both?
Can you use it in a tincture with 100% vodka to use as a aspir and a pain relief . 🤔 For internal use . 🤔 Vodka with preserve it for longer period of time is that true . 🤔 You just said that you can make a ointment for outer pain relief using oils but anything that is made with oils only lasts 12 months shelf life . 🤔 Can I dry the buds in a food dehydrator or in the sun and place it in a glass jar with a tight lid to preserve it . 🤔 I know you can freeze it but what happens if your freezer brakes . 😮 I just found out today about this wonderful tree and the fact you have to wait for the branches to fall to harvest it. 🤔😕🤔 Very hard and difficult to find it . 😮 Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge . 🙂
Off-topic with this question. But April would you consider making a tutorial on the process of growing mushrooms? Or at least the process you use to gather spores/seeds? (Not sure of either. 😆) I'm in southeastern NC, but the process would be mostly the same, just maybe different mushrooms, right? Thanks for sharing your amazing skills! God bless.
Hey April!! Thanks for your amazing info! Would someone with a pollen allergy to cottonwoods like this ally react to an oil infusion made from their buds?
love you videos, tried to leave a comment on the linden video but after I got done writing the comment, it said comments disabled. What? Oh well, Love you video, your my living library and keep them coming. Thanks a bunch.
@@sheisofthewoods It seems that UA-cam is doing that to many herbalists. They are disabling channels that are helping people with herbs to cure their diseases. Big pharma is most likely paying them off. I love watching your videos April and really enjoy the person that you are. No stuffiness in your kitchen !!! Thanks again for all your videos. ✌🏻❤
Hi April, thank you for your love of our plant allies and for the confidence you so willingly share. I'm trying to learn more about cottonwood / poplar tincture. Do you have anything to share about tincturing rather than making Balm of Gilead oil?
Best to use just the buds & be mindful she's a blood thinner so she's not for 24/7 use. Typically 3 days on 3 days off is best if using her like aspirin.
@@sheisofthewoods Awesome, I hadn't even thought of uses but rather pondering other ways to use her besides oils. I think I'll tincture a bit for "aspirin" times.
Hey April! How do you make a perfume from these wonderful buds? The same as for roses, put on tallow or lard? This really smells amazing and I'm shocked I only learn these things now 😁 thanks
We have a BUNCH of eastern poplar/cottonwood trees in our woods and each spring the buds fall to the ground..we walk barefoot (because hippies) and they always get stuck to our feet. Are these fallen buds okay to collect and use rather than depending on harvesting directly from the tree? They still have oil in them but I wasn't sure if the fallen buds would be too far gone or weaker than pulling from the tree directly.
I saw of video of a tribal man from Canada peel the bark off of a poplar tree, dried it and ground it up as a medicine. He was very respectful of the tree,as not to injure it.
Yeah you can do that although it's a misconception that doesn't hurt the tree. I mean we can peel some of our skin off and it will grow back too but it still is an injury.
Not yet couple days to a week but I did get some usnea I am wondering if the usnea from different species would effect the potency or is it the same component from species to species
Yep all poplars that are true poplars are similar medicinally but it's still important if you plan on using it internally to make sure the variety you have is non toxic for internal use.
@@sheisofthewoods The Cottonwoods and quaking aspens are members of the poplar family, and are what we find in my neck of the woods. I can't find any information about whether they are safe and/or active. Do you have any experience with them? Thank you. 🙏🏻

Saucy Wench that's funny
there has always been winters with warm spells. nothing new, all the trees are not going to die.
Cool story, 8000+ fruit trees died that year due to the warm spell.
Can this bud be made into a tincture
Yep yep😊
