Much needed for lefty. I’m a lefty and I found so discouraging to see most of the guides are for right hand ppl. Thank you so much for making our lefty life easier 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
You are an awesome knitting teacher. This week, I just knitted for the first time in my life because you do such a great job explaining & demonstrating. And I’m a lefty. I’m so excited to learn these basic things, and looking forward to progressing. Thank you so much.
Thanks so much for taking the time to really show how this is done. I purchased a set of knitting needles, and watching you makes me confident that I can do this. I have crocheted for many years and love it. I recently decided I wanted to learn how to knit hats, so again, thanks for the time you take. I've watched several other podcast and you by far are the easiest to understand.
This is fantastic. Thanks so much for this video. I've been dropping and picking up stitches all willy nilly with no clue how to fix it. 🤣🤣 the scafe I made went from 15 St and ended with 22🤷♀️🤔 but now I know what I've done and how to fix it 😍😍. Thanks again!!
Thank you. I release videos each Saturday morning. This was the first of 12 lessons. So you are catching it at a good time. Next week Lesson 2 will release. I’m so glad you are excited to learn and enjoyed the tutorial. Be sure to check in and let me know how you are doing on your knitting. 😁❤️
Thank you so much you dont understannd i kept rewatching videos till i wanted to breakdown and found it rlly hard and then your video was basically heaven outta of nowhere, summarized everything and i can tell how much effort you put in this and i wanted you to know how much appreciated is this video because your srsly helping so many noobies like me!!! have a great day 🥰🥰🥰
Ugh! I’m sweating bullets! My very first cast on rows are are tight in spite of really trying to not keep tension on the yarn. Also, my tail winds up at the top of my other “casting on” needle…However, your tutorial is great; I just don’t know what I’m doing wrong.
Hi!! I have a friend who is left handed. I knew there is crochet for left handed ppl but I didn't know there was knitting for left handed. Thanks for the video. I just have an observation. I learned how to knit around 1995 and I have books for beginners and I have been watching videos about casting on. None of them do the long tail cast on the way you do. For what I understand is called the long tail because you use both the working yarn and the tail to cast on. The cast on that you are doing here is a different cast on but is not called long tail. Just an observation so you can make the correction on the video. 😁
Hello! This is the ‘slingshot method’ to make the longtail cast on. I assure you it is still correct as I have learned from certified Master knitters to confirm. There are different ‘methods’ to make the longtail with the same result. Some people even hold the needle with their arm or between their knees to accomplish but it actually sets up the stitches the correct way but may look different to you. I’m so glad the video could help your friend for left handed crochet. Have a great day! ❤️
Hello. This is a really useful video. Thank you. Just a quick question, if you don't mind. When I'm knitting I can't keep the tension the same. Sometimes it's so tight I can hardly prise the stitches off the needle and other times they're so loose they fall off or the item looks to baggy. Is there a way of keeping consistent or is it just a matter of experience?
hi i’m new to knitting but at some point with experience you kinda naturally feel how much to “tug” when knitting. honestly i find some cheaper yarn makes it super tight even though i try so hard to not pull it tight. sometimes softer (more expensive) yarns are super nice and easy to get the right feel on how much to pull and sit really nice and snug on the needles. i’m pretty sure it’s just experience and falling into a rhythm!!! :-)
Hi not sure if you're still replying to comment (maybe someone else can help me) Ive noticed that my knit between my needles is really tight, there isn much give and i find myself working at the tips of the needles always. Can anyone let me know what I'm doing wrong as its really hard to get my needles under the yard for each stitch. - Thanks :)
@@myleneb-x5b you are adding a stitch at either beginning or end of row if that is happening. Be sure to count stitches in each row as you go to avoid this. After practice it will get easier to see and detect.
No. That is actually how you do it for left handed. When you are finished you flip it around. If you see the right handed video (which I am) you will see I hold the needle with my right and add the yarn on with the left. This video is flipped.

@@MEpeopleannoy that's good to know. Thank you.
I’m left handed , and I do it differently, is this why I can’t understand patterns or learn how to knit patterns .

It appears the entire casting-on process is done right-handed in this clip.

Hi
You really call this for beginners I am so stressed out o swear I'm not trying to hate on you it's just that it's frustrating
I understand. It can take a bit of time and everyone is different. Be kind to yourself. Also try using the slower playback speed. All my best to you.
