Ever since I started watching your videos...all I wanted to do was go camping and overlanding.Unfortunately Im only 13 yrs old BUT If i was older,I would definately go camping and overlanding every year
Love the cinematography and music choices Ed! Your vlogs are helping us plan our trip-of-a-lifetime next year . Info on where you can get fuel and food and road conditions are so useful. Can’t wait for more.
Thank you for the Botswana videos ,amazing how every part of the country has been commercialised but stayed wild , as an octogenarian memories come flooding back of all the places you visit which were my playground of sixty years ago ,your modern equipment and travel gear are mind boggling ,Bains was always one of my favorite stops , keep up the good work.
Thank you for the inclusions mate, and so lekker to do this one with you gents. What a trip full of magic experiences. Definitely something I will never forget. Looking forward to your next series. BIG thank you to all your subscribers, and ours for all the feedback, meeting ups, and comments. It's the small things that really are the cherries on the top of what we do. ENJOY the magic content from Edward Bath overlanding, as always.
Thank you Ed and the Gents for taking us to Botswana, we've been everywhere in Botswana with you gents. The Makgadikgadi Pans, Nxai Pans, The Baines Baobab and the Moremi Game Reserve its been a Journey. I have watched most if not all of your content and as soon as i get my 4x4 Rig you guys will definitely be my go-to guys. Thank you keep the video coming.
My wife and I live in Victoria BC, Canada. We drive a 2018 Toyota Tacoma set up very much like your rigs and we have explored extensively the remote desert regions of mid west America. We are planning a self guided trip to Botswana in 2 years. I have been using your videos as part of our planning system and find them to be very useful indeed. Trip distances on each segment of track driven along with fuel consumption would be very useful for folks like us planning a trip like this. Availability of water and sources would also help. We are very experienced with this type of travel and exploration with the only difference being not many things here are trying to eat you as much as in Africa. Love the vids, keep em coming, we'll watch them all!!!
One of the many reasons why I love your vids so much, is the music that delivers such an incredible emotion to the pictures. Another awesome production. Thank you!
Absolutely amazing. I have been to some of these areas but you describe my country with a very unique eye. It's beautiful. Looking forward to more videos for inspiration on my own Botswana adventure.

Hi guys, my wife and I are the family you refer to, thanks for the nice comments! We have been watching all your episodes since then, and have already been planning our next adventures and building our own vehicle. We like the information about the roads, campsites etc but would also like to know about interesting places that are not that well known. Looking forward to your next posting, keep safe. Hi Ed. You guys are excellent in what your doing. I watched this video before and now that our trip in Jul 2022 is coming closer I just wanted to see if we did not miss something from your videos because you guys gives us a lot of valuable info. Only one thing I would suggest is to indicate on your subject line what time of the year you guys visit these places. It will add value to us planning our trips. For example level of rivers, conditions of the roads and so on. Thanks guys for sharing.
Great blogs about the national parks here in Botswana. I believe the next visit you will find the Boteti river at makgadikgadi national park flooding. The Okavango stream feeding boteti river is flooding a few kilometres before Maun which normally takes a month to reach Rakops during winter. I am resident of Rakops and usually do some day trips to makagadikgadi and CKGR.. I enjoy watching your videos. Hope to see you next time when you visit.
Thank you so much! I would love to go back there as soon as this lockdown is over to see the Boteti in flood! We will definitely stop in for a visit in Rakops next time. Thanks for watching!
Fantastic video! looking forward to watch your next adventure. I have seen a lot of videos showing game drives and animals. Great pictures but what is missing in most of the videos is the campsite atmosphere. In your next videos could you please add a small tour of the campsite showing where the caravans/tents are, ablution facilities if available, cooking and enjoying a drink in the evening around the open fire and what would you suggest to do when you are camping in a specific campsite. Thanks

When you asked about things to include in the videos I thought maybe share some of your thoughts and experiences on overlanding and safari etiquette, especially in the more remote places in Bots. In the Kruger it’s not permitted to get out of the vehicle whereas in Botswana the campsites have no fences so therefore you need to be very aware of your surroundings and thus you are allowed to alight from the vehicle in designated areas, there is little clarity as to whether it’s permitted or not throughout the whole of Botswana🙌

Hey Garrick, thanks for watching and for the feedback, we really appreciate it! 1. This trip was in January 2020 but we will make sure to include this as well as road and weather conditions regarding the time of year we are traveling. 2. There is generally a meat ban in Botswana so it’s advised to grab meat in one of the towns. Maun and Palape have great butchers so that would be advisable. We will make sure to include this in future videos. 3. With regards to Park fees it’s 120P per person per day as well as 50P per vehicle per day. This is quite expensive and adds up but is well worth it, camping fees vary because of the different operators managing the various camps. Thank you for the feedback, we love hearing from our viewers and subscribers! Best regards!
Thanks for the feedback Garrick! I usually try to include items like these in my blog posts (on my website) corresponding to the campsite review. Is the terrain friendly to a 4x2 vehicle?
Definitely not, 4x4 only 🙌
How much bottled water do you personally carry on a trip?
Usually around 10 5L containers and around 4 cases of 500ml sparkling waters on a 14 day trip each 🙌
Edward Bath wow. And you carry extra fuel. Weight must be a real issue.
