sorry about the big face thumbnail! geez.... anywho, I see 15 reasons that the Goumi Berry plant may be the best fruiting plant, heppy.org/goumi#15 1. EXCELLENT nutrition. more heart-healthy lycopene than tomato, vitamins A, C and E, minerals, and is a fairly good source of essential fatty acids. 2. Bears large crops of fruit. 3. Nitrogen Fixer. 4. Self-fertile. 5. 100% pest-free and disease-free here at HEPPY™ 6. Drought tolerant. 7. Wildlife friendly. 8. Prune to any shape. 9. Adaptable to soils including nutrient poor soil (thrives in organic soil). 10. Versatile in varied light conditions (fruits best in 80%+ full sun). 11. SUPER sturdy multi-trunked plant. 12. Strong branches don't sag with fruit. 13. Easy to propagate from seed. 14. Very fragrant. 15. Frost-tolerant blooms.
I bought a Tillamook and a Red Gem recently here in PA. The Tillamook already arrived dormant in the mail and I planted it last Sunday. Looking forward to seeing how they grow and to taste the fruits. For me they are also going to act like a wind break for me and some privacy close to a main road.
great news dictionaryzzz. the seeds can be planted immediately after you eat the fruit (that's how we do it). seedlings will emerge the following spring. we set seeds in the soil around the Mama plant (rich soil). Mama plant doesn't get watered; seedlings emerged. an edible wind-break -- very nice, very HEPPY ;) take care, pete moss

Id really like to get a goumi! They look great. Where are they from?? I just got all my trees in from MDC over the last weekend and I'm already getting some nice buds on the trees. The red mulberries are doing great! If in a few years they are ready and you don't have any yet ill try and send you a few. I know you said you didn't have any yet. How are the flies and other bugs when it comes time for the fruits to fall off. Are you able to keep up? I planted mine a good distance away from the house specifically for the reason of potential "pests."
the plant is from China; our girls are from...check it out! 😀, heppy.org/goumi#Goumi_plants_growing_in_our_garden great news on the Mulberries and thank you for the offer! the yard is so big (like yours) that our bugs & stuff sorta blend-in with the landscape. i really hate getting stung by ground bees; otherwise, i let them do their thing. do you have any pics of how your yard is coming along?!?!
@@heppylifestyle i will get a video uploaded at some point to show off the yard but everything is so small right now its hard to even tell from a distance to be truthful lol. I planted most of the trees a good distance away from the house for when the bugs do come just in case. My toddler doesn't yet know not to play with bees so I thought it best! I like more of the organized look for my yard when it comes to my plants and garden (I base everything off of how easy it will be to mow around haha!), so I did rows, which next year I will fill completely with mulch so I wont have to trim around them. How much property are you planting on? Did you say 2 acres?

if you so choose: high organic soil = a lot of growth. she's just a shrub so 'a lot of growth' is relative.
