- This a short movie made to display the people and product of Maverick Sport Fishing Yachts. They are built plank and frame in Costa Rica for the die hard fisherman. Bringing old cold molded techniques with new composite epoxies and close moulded resin infused parts these boats are built to catch fish.
Nice...fished one of the Mavericks in Los Suenos a few months ago.
I have been fortunate to fish both Spanish fly and Super Fly vessels. What we'll built and thought out masterpieces masterpieces .

You say in the description that mavericks are plank on frame and they are not. They are cold molded, it's completely different. :)

is there fiberglass? or is the boat just made of plywood
If you really want a durable craft, get rid of all the wood below decks. You'll save yourself a mountain of grief in the years ahead...best of all, you can have the same boat you've always had without going into serious debt again.
Suggestions would be nice.
Doesn't know what he is talking about. PT boats were not made of plywood. A myth.
During the Korean conflict, a precious few were constructed of aluminum for use in the north Pacific, before that time all PT boats used in the US Navy were constructed of 100% wood to include plywood hull and decking for strenght.
