that steering wheel reminds me of the ones ford used for the 1980-86 F series pickups/ econolines except those werent color keyed. Henry fords statement you can have any color you want as long as its black applied there. personally I like the years with the round headlamps better.
The disc front brakes off these 70s Granadas are used for 60s Mustangs drum to disc conversions. Also Lincoln Versailles were stripped of their Complete Rear Axles for their Locking Rear Ends and Rear Disc Brakes.
Ikr? I wonder where they went after all these years! My grandmother had a baby blue '77 with a white top and interior (or dark blue top and interior, I'm trying to remember which), and it was lovely. Not sure what engine it had. _(8/5/2022)_
My senior year in high school in 1975 I factory ordered one in two door brown with the 302 V8 and the floor shift transmission. Not too bad for my first ride.
That was when they made good durable cars back in the old days. I am in my closed to be mid 30s love this car seat and beautiful something about old school these are best cars like this and version of Versailles.
The "rough idle" could be more than a carb rebuild as cars this new/old don't do well on ethanol used in gas today. Then there's vacuum leaks at the intake manifold and ancillary hoses. Oil leaks are what they are, if they're not real bad , you leave them alone. Wouldve been nice to see the underside of this nice driving example........
Early V-8 Granada issues with aerodynamics Around 115 mph air pressure under the front will unload front suspension to the point the steering can be cycled side to side Lock to lock.... front tires will go up in smoke..... All the while with little to no steering input....... However , if overdone treads will overheat then separate from the tire...... When applied properly front tires can be preheated before entering a turn allowing for better gripshun, yah gripshun is what the old timers Used to call it
My Mum had a ford granada when she was young. hers was a 1979 and it was a light blue coloured car with dark blue interior. she bought it of a neighbour in 1983 and had when she had 3 babies. I was the youngest and only son born. she kept it until 1991 when that car bit the dust so she had to have it towed to my local auto wrecker
1978 pine knob amphitheater waiting in the parking lot for a Peter Gabriel concert had a few refreshments then we decided who could jump over the hood of a Ford Granada belong to my friend seemed like a good idea at the time
That's not leather in the interior it is vinyl and that is not a coin collector either. It's an ashtray. lol What you have there is a baseline model Ford Granada. Leather interior on this car was an option for the Ghia models only and not base models. What you have is a good candidate for a total restoration. Probably cost you around 25k to get it done correctly. Problem is you'll have more money in it than it's actually worth by a good 15k at least.
My first car was a 1977 that pops gave me after he bought moms a Volvo... I will have another Granada one day!!! I may even convert it to EV... Hahahahaha!!!
How times have changed. This “small” Granada is 197.7 inches long. A new “full-size” Chrysler 300 is 198.6 inches long, just a little over an inch longer.
@@richardisner4030 I took my driving test Mom’s car, a ‘66 Olds 98. The “small” car in the family was Dad’s ‘70 Ford LTD. Cars were monsters back before the downsizing trend in the late ‘70’s. Even those “downsized” cars were huge compared to the “full size” cars of today.

No. There's no evidence of such excessive mileage. I'm not gonna give away the store here, but a car with 150k miles, the pedals would be worn down, and so on, but I will tell you first hand. These cars are guaranteed to practically self destruct at 90 to 100k miles. That's all the 70s cars are good for.
Coin compartment...that's an ASH TRAY.
I love it. This guy does not know what an ashtray is, what a vinyl top is etc... but he is gonna sell me a car.
You beat me to it.
In non smokers cars it's a coin tray. Js.....
I miss Ford's traditionally styled, brougham-y type cars like this developed under Iacocca's leadership.
That car reminds me of an ex. Beautiful on the outside, but once you pop the hood, you see what’s she’s really like.

Is hilarious that he keeps referring to vinyl (roof, door panels, upholstery) as leather.
Lol
Pleather
@Dan Cline Everyone does this on older cars? I have never, at any time, heard anyone refer to a vinyl roof as "leather".
@Dan Cline I'm 60. Youngun. 😀
LOL!
I had a green just like it when i was a teen in the 80's what i would give to have that old car back so many memories
Thanks for the memories. A Maverick in a fancy wrapper. At least it has a V8 - the sixes were slow as molasses
4 speed manual and 351 V8 is the Granada to pick up...
70hp-72hp first 2 years
I had a used 75 granada four door and it was a great car.

This was one model which, in its day, would sell like hotcakes. I saw oodles of these on the streets growing up!

Why didn't the 'Fasten Belts' light go on when you start the car?
When they don't give the asking price move on to another seller just stupidity.
If you maintained and took care of those cars, they were all right! The 6 Cyl 250 CID engine was not fast, but it would do 80mph!
Nice looking car

The black seatbelts really cheapen the look of the interior. I'd almost forgotten that color-matched seatbelts weren't always the norm.
🔴🤑....SOLD !!! I'LL TAKE IT .
Brown. Never see any brown cars nowadays. Nice example of a Granada.
True. Today. Cars come in just two shades. Compliant gray and compliant silver. So boring, invisible and unimaginative.
Tried to make out what engine that is. I'm guessing it's a 302? _(8/5/2022)_
$15 dollars.....
That's what I got from the junk yard in 1995 for my 78'
Wrapped steering wheel...might be cracked.
Surprised it actually made it to 50k must've needed quite a few parts. Lol
No response. Where is this car now?
Nver said the price,so why bother
Lol...$500. bucks
its not a "coin compartment", its a ashtray.

It is a small car. Not quite midsize. But considered midsize. Overall condition is alittle better than fair. I would offer you 1500.00 for it.

One of the worst cars Ford ever built.
I'd rather walk then drive this car even if it were free. Cheerio chap.
