91mph let's go! no smoke? heck yeah😁
"Ol' Detroit diesel" 😆 let it pop and sputter for a minute and stand back lol ..dang Murphy's been on the loose lately! BG4L🚤💨
Rc Boat Bitz has been showing some testing on his UA-cam channel, of new Stainless steel 1 piece wire drive shafts he is planning on selling. So far from the testing he has been showing, the shafts look very promising. They seem to be very strong and also frees up a little friction. Might be worth a look.
I have been watching his testing with the wire drive, looks promising 👌
Yup that tugboat needs an upgrade for retrieving faster! Should we have a battle of brushless tugboats for who's got the fastest!? 😅 Hopefully getting video of my 4s tug this week! 🤞
Congratulations great job, ride attitude is beautiful. Love my flex cable couplers with the grub screws. I run my DOM and sometimes my animal with fiberglass canopies. The DOM has many flips never damaged the canopy( its small size still strong). The animal did get a few cracks for high speed I put the carbon fiber one on, I hate taping GPS to the outside, Great job glad you did not loose that prop
@markgambetta1704 Thanks, I want to eventually make cut a Fiberglass windows for the gps to sit in. I just haven't had the time. May be a good winter project. That 126mph animal run you made was epic, congratulations 🎊 BG4L
Brother-B! This might sound kinda ridiculous, but I would like to see a video upgrading the Tugboat. Would like to see what you come up with. Go Big! BG4L-Bro!
Thanks for the idea!
I see your using more 3 bladed props!! See what I mean about 3 blades? They have become my favorite props to run!! That's how I get my fastest speeds with those!
You should build your own Rescue Boat! It's very satisfying as you well know!
Nice run, beautiful day to be on the water.
I wonder if that prop has a certain depth it needs to be in the water, I get the feeling it was designed for good traction (not as much prop slip) to you get the best of both worlds (in a straight line and in turns. 👍 BGFL
I knew that 10/50 prop would be great, just had to have the right boat. Funny how props act that way. 58mph on one & 91mph on another.
SSW48 28,500 vs DOM 42,000 rpm half the size, half the weight, 13,000 rpm difference. Crazy how things work
Really great speed for a mono. With my favorite prop. And motor. I was thinking .......
Why not mount two of these in a 50" scratch built outrigger......for a 110 - 120 run.....
I would feel for you for losing this prop big time as for working that much on it.
Big B time .....😜
See ?! A gremlin popped up again..... Out of nowhere. Damn !
50" twin outrigger! Dude, that would be SYCK! I'm gonna try again, hopefully on some better water
I see the design of the collet, looks like a old octera design. Seen many of these fail & do exactly what it's doing spin the shaft. Yours may be a new design but I would use something different. Also when you solder the end of your shaft are you using silver solder & soldering from end of cable to a half way down.
Hope you don't lose that prop, it's a interesting looking prop. Who makes that prop.
It's an octura 8mm to .187 recently purchased from OSE, not sure if it's the old or new style?
I'm running an ABC 2118 10/50
Really interested how n this been at as it’s similar to my new build
Now i was wondering... In past some people talked about effiency.... Your at the same speed as your previous record. So my question would be for now; does it run better, handles it better, do you have longer runtimes, etc...? Your esc should give some data according to that now. Motor may be lower kv, but needs to spin a bigger prop so therefore amps go up again, etc... It was a solid run!
@peteroosterhoff8850 same exact speed
1400kv w/ 5218 8s = 91mph
2080kv w/ 1817 8s = 91mph
I know one thing, my temps are 50% cooler with the low kv motor vs the higher kv at the same voltage. I couldn't prop up no more with the 2080kv it was maxed out at 91 with that setup.
@@IRONCLADRC i think the 2080 just was to much kv. Also think 1400 will get you to a 100, but you probably would need to go up 1 or 2 sizes to get there, curious how many amps it draws then. Then again, also didn't expect a 52mm (or bigger) prop still would handle well, personally would have expected more torque roll.
I hope to go in 90's also, but with high rpm, +/-46mm prop, and less power. Thinking about buying the castle link in future. Not to do changes, but to know what actually some numbers are in comparison to one another. What would interest me is for instance that maybe the ampdraw is about the same. Meaning, you need a certain amount off power to go a certain speed and motorsize doesn't matter that much as long it has enough power and that main difference would be temps (and weight)... This was just a spin off my mind/theory, but would be interesting...
Hahaha détroit Takes oil Good on fuel 😂
Beautiful props. Could you maybe chek the length on the hub on the oxidean 45mm high rake?? I have to find a new shaft with place for it so would be really nice if you could tell me😅😊
21mm 45 HR hub length
@@IRONCLADRC oh wow thats way less than I expected thank you so much
Nice run Big b, I vote to see that prop Scott sent you on the Dom one more time, just to see, maybe, the collet was coming lose on that run, maybe. I would really like to see the speed difference? Just a thought.
@TeamHeavyChevy1 I thought the same thing while editing, the collet could have started slipping towards or mid run with the vxp prop. You may be right, I'll revisit the test here shortly. Thanks. BG4L
@IRONCLADRC I sure appreciate you and this channel. Thank you for all you do for this Hobby and rc community.TY BG4L
Great passes B. Imagine if the water had less chop and almost glass ? Just off the bat what size props would you recommend for a 1650Kv 200 esc 6s rig on a Dominator please ? Standard to Max size ?
Speed: Abc 1816 17/45 or 1716 17/45
Octura m447 and 645 or 642
@@IRONCLADRC thank you so much. I really appreciate your support.
@marcandreasson87 actually an ABC 1916 1745 may be the best for speed on 6s. It's a big prop but should get that boat moving, one hitter quiter prop
@@IRONCLADRC that’s awesome 🤩. Thanks for sharing. I’m happy to buy props as they obviously make such a big difference. Again appreciate your straight up suggestions as it really helps me in the long run. 👍👍.
Why are there 3 holes in the top of the Oxi hull up by the bow? Does it self right?
Yes, this is the self-righting dominator, it has a battery tray on the flood chamber wall and a battery tray in the keel, you must use the flood chamber battery tray to take advantage of the self-righting feature.
@@IRONCLADRC Ok gotcha, I realised you had to recovery it when it flipped so I was curious about the holes/self-right capability.
It didn't flip, the collet started slipping on the flex cable
She's flying Big B
Thank goodness she wasn't actually fllllyyyying 😅
Big B , great ride . 👍
Big thanks. BG4L
This looks like a proper meat grinder blade
