What are you trying to gain from the policy loan? A higher rate of return. Insurance(no risk principal) vs. investment (@risk principal). Am I wrong?

I like the term "and asset" theres not just one asset that is the best. I retired in my early 50s, my dividend portfolio pays my life and funds my policy. I also do options to increase my returns. Just having wl policy is a mistake, you will be leaving to much potential income on the table. Most people cant live off of the 3-4% the policy will yield.
I am earning 8-10% dividend yield from my portfolio plus options on top of that which easily doubles that yield.
Also one more point to take note having a brokerage account with margin gives you a lot of the benefits of a policy. I can borrow and pay back without losing the compounding of my money. I like having multiple ways to access capitol without always creating a taxable event.
    Margin
    Heloc
    Policy
I have them all with thousands of available, liquidity this is how you can be more aggressive with your investments even during retirement because you have a hedge to fall back on.

I appreciate the thoughts of borrowing externally at a higher rate than the rate that the policy (insurance company) charges. The notion of having “control of my own cash for future opportunities”, the way I understand it, is like holding a “call option” on future opportunities. The interest rate difference is essentially like paying a premium on the call option. Also makes sense to access more difficult credit (I.e, from a bank) first before using our policy as “lender of the last resort”. Thanks for putting this view out!

What are your thoughts , both you, on what will happen when the US government goes to the digital currency? what happens to the whole life policies, and what happens to the economy? what happens to the value of our accounts when the government can decide when and where, and how you can save and you can invest or you can spend your money? what are your thoughts on the digital currency age that is soon to be upon us?

The gov't pretty much already has controlled and now controls currency regardless of form. If you doubt it, try moving $10K around (Patriot Act, AML, etc.).

FYI US currency has been digital since the 1900s.

@@LuxeprivaeMediait has been fully digital. The movement of money between banks is digital and the process in which you swipe your credit card to purchase things is digital, but you can still have tangible physical cash to buy things and a travel with it. They cannot be traced unless you use an ATM machine to pull the money from it, other than that, the government has no method of tracing that money that you spend by physical cash.

@@franklehane8843 I understand fully but what I’m getting at is try moving money around in the future when everything is mandatory digital cash and they tell you no you cannot buy that thing. You’ve met your quota or you cannot buy that “X” or invest in that X or you haven’t been vaccinated your account is locked.
