Hi Jake, just an FYI on that NT round: Cane toads are an invasive species commonly found in QLD, NT and northern NSW. they wreak havoc on our native wildlife and i believe that sign was warning people travelling to WA to make sure they weren't inadvertently bringing any into the state. we have similar signs for fruit flies near the NSW-VIC border also
Jake, firstly, I’m so happy about this video- everyone seems to be taking a long time to get back from Stockholm, and I was so deprived of any good GeoG content. Secondly, where in Europe are you going? Thirdly, I know there are no trophies and you can’t climb any further than the Champion League, but you could just play and record 20 games per week to try and get to the top of the league, right? Plus you get points for won rounds, which you did not in Seasons. I don’t see why that would not be as much fun as the seasons. Hoping to see more of your vids soon. Good travels!
Me in gold divison: I win 15 out of 20 games, the 5 losses were to cheaters that blatantly use google and I get 7th (1 place below being promoted) 3 weeks in a row
Note that they changed the matching again this week as far as I can tell (the video is from last week). For the first 20 games in the week (those that count for points), you will be matched with players of your division (so you could get a Champion with rating 950 like I was the other day...). After the 20 games, the matching is done on rating only. I was around 1,100 today after the 20 games and played players from Gold III, Masters II, etc that had a rating around 1,000 to 1,100. Seems like a sensible compromise if they want to keep the system in general.
1:27 "It's 2 AM..." You need to change the batteries in the clock behind you then... Also, love the duels videos. It's a shame that GeoGuessr changed the season format. It wasn't perfect, but this ain't it, IMO. Also, take time to enjoy your time in Europe where/when you can!
I was pretty hyped about the new ranked system at first but now that the hype is over i definitely think the old system was better. As you said, there is no real reason to play ranked with this system, just doesnt seem that rewarding.
Can’t believe they still haven’t made a change, it’s so bad imo and in the last month i have lost all motivation to play, not a fan of some of the new UI too, it’s quite laggy too, hope they change things back
Hello! New geogussr player here. How do you move fast on moving rounds? I see pros do it and I just don’t know how. Is there a specific thing that you have to press? If anyone could help that’d mean a lot to me, thanks! :)
You can click on your spacebar after clicking the forward arrow with your mouse to fastmove, you will continue moving forward as long as you keep holding space, you can alternatively use the Enter key instead of space, however, note that it won't work in moving duels unless you have the chat disabled, as the Enter key will keep opening up the chat; and, as the other guy mentioned, make sure not to hold space after you got your pin down, because once you release it, your guess will go through where your pin is.
