    Always love the way he talks about Wendy's. It's not all rainbows, but it's said with respect, and he's also spreading awareness not as a "Stay away from this" but as "this is what you should know before you make a decision or have an opinion"

    feels like its different per liver/manager, i guess? and their dynamic with each other. since enna recently said that her manager offers one-on-one meetings to review her channel to discuss how they can grow it. and enna's like...."no, im fine where i am" lmao
    also ryoma talking to his manager about giving him precise schedules and deadlines to help him complete his content on time. maybe xsoleil mane is very hands-off? but recently xsoleil members have been getting more activities
    good on kyrio to actually leave since the environment is not working for him anymore, hope he's doing well with his music and horror stuff

      Ideally, a manager would discuss with you what you need and what style you like. Do you want more structure or want to be left alone?
      Of course all to a certain degree. Because they can't babysit you 24/7 but also can't leave you alone if something important is needed.
      So honestly, one on one meetings to discuss the channel and how the talent is doing is what imo should be the norm, even in normal jobs where I live you have employee-employer meetings (quater yearly or twice a year? Not sure), to give both sides the chance to check in. If it's about a talent agency, I think doing that at least once a month seems good and reasonable to me.
      Giving precise schedules and helping someone structure their time to do their work is already more than I'd expect from my employer tbh, but it also makes sense in a talent agency. But that sounds already more like a personal assistant and that is already a lot from his manager, but very commendable that he does it.

    this feels like just any kind of stories about finding your own workstyle, lining up your own goals with the ones from your workplace, and when it doesn't work any more you can just go out & explore more

    I agree it can go both ways.
    I have experience both of these when I ran a store by myself and when I had to move to work under another person directly at a larger store.
    And I definitely prefer the leave me alone and call me when I messed up method.
    But I could absolutely understand people hating that style

    Yup! Everyone is different. Some people are like kyrio, some are like claude. And thats ok as long as they enjoy what they do. We fans will support our favorite streamers as long as they are happy, doesnt matter where they are

      Unfortunately, other people don't get that and just mindlessly ride the "NiJi BaD!!1!!" bandwagon.
      They think those that are staying have a Stockholm Syndrome, when they just actually prefer Wendy's style of management and/or work style instead of just being an indie.

    That's the point of having a managers, they're the bridge between liver & top management.
    This also one of the reason why Holo frequently changing or reshuffle managers assigned to their talents. Niji policies might not be the best or far from perfect but they did improved it for the past year..

    from the 2 years i've now been following wendy's, it does really seems its different from talent to talent or at most from wave to wave, even tho that makes no sense since it's the same company? how do they not have a status quo about that? 😢
    and i believe that claude specifically is somewhat of an oddball in this topic

      according to someone who was an investor 2023 was just a rough year for EN management in general. I have a sneaking suspicion the debacle leading up to the Krisis debut may have something to do with it.

      part of it could be a difference in experience pre and post february last year (which seem to have been a bucket of ice-cold water thrown onto the management when it comes to en)
      and part simply that not everyone will be equally invested in their job so some managers will go out of their way to help people under them and others will just do the bare minimum required of them to get their paycheck

      The company has since hired non-Japanese management. Last year they were hiring for North American managers who also knew Japanese to report to the company. There is a big cultural difference between how Japanese people work and manage, as opposed to how let's say American people manage. Japanese people are more hands off but will point out the things that you're doing wrong, American managers sometimes tend to micromanage but be more supportive.
      I think another thing that fails to be mentioned is that many livers are on the younger side so they still don't quite know themselves what type of management would work best for them. So it's not like they can have that conversation if they don't have much work experience to compare to. I do think that having these realistic conversations would help future vtubers that want to join a corporation make a better educated decision about which company to join and what conversations should have have regarding management.

      @@sn3983 i used to watch them and honestly it’s not entirely wrong. I mean it’s a jpcompany so ofc they’d be leaning more towards that kind of content and culture as Asians (majority of their audience, even EN regular audience are mostly Asians i believe) are more fond of that than full Western culture if that makes sense.

    • @vanessarubix5331
      @vanessarubix5331 13 днів тому +3

      @@Toxic_Korgi not really? majority of their events are more gaming and variety. there are only a few company-wide music related events throughout the year; during nijifes and the recent music festival. other than that, music-related content are more for the smaller-sized units and soloists. nijiENcounter is the EN version of Focus On!, which are one-off singles for livers, and even then, you can't really call the music-related projects they release as mostly "idol"-like

    • @aives737
      @aives737 11 днів тому +7

      not necessarily? some of the recent events the livers worked closely with management on have been nijiversus and terrasanji, neither of which are idol activities.
