Good luck with it and have fun with this killer riff.

Thanks, KDA! You’re right, it’s the only one found that shows the entire song. I consider the song one of the top under 3 minutes tunes ever made.
Another great lesson for a true classic. Thank you. It even sounds good on my trusty old Ovation acoustic. Billy Gibbon’s is a Wizard on the guitar, gritty as all Hell, eclectic, tasteful and often transcendental.
The master of guitar “attitude”, Billy Gibbons. Great lesson! Can’t wait to start practicing. One of my personal favorites.
Top quality lesson with no a wasted words.
Great lesson . One of those songs you just have to learn . Thanks for posting . I remember the first time I heard and said “ what a catchy tune and bad ass riff”
Great lesson ! Just a little detail: the chorus is not power chords, it's all double stops on the D and G strings. Billy Gibbons sometimes phrases a cool slide between the 5th and 4th fret live too.
This and Tube Snake Boogie are high on my list of favs by ZZ. Awesome video and thanks!
Cheers mate, my pleasure.
Yeah,.. glad I went looking for this one!
Basically, this is the only "How To" for this song.
One of my favorites and I guess just us older guys that remember it (and that killer riff) would know and understand it.
There's a story behind that outlaw radio station and they're singing about it. Very cool.
I am so glad that 'out of the blue' I wondered, "Is there a good tutorial for Heard it on the X?"
I will be binging your videos.
excellent lesson thanks for your hard work✌
Great tutorial! Thanks for sharing
Great job. I’ve seen BG play this several ways. You pretty much covered them all.
I had more fun playing in a three piece band and I felt more freedom as a lead guitar player. The open spaces in the music gave me more chance for expression and the opportunity to go wild with improvisation. How about you? PS Thanks for the slide lesson. I'll try it on my lap steel.
Thanks for this!!!! I’ve been playing this for years. You helped me get over a couple rough spots.
Another outstanding tutorial. Thank you. Love the standards!
Thank you so much for this wonderful tutorial. Have been looking for it for a long time. Looking forward to start practicing one of the best ZZ Top songs.
The definitive lesson! Thank you
Cheers! And thanks!
Zhank you - Buddy! Finally a really good job on this unusal thang.....Wow
Thank you for the excellent and detailed lesson on such a great song! Much appreciated.
My pleasure man!
The weird thing is I started playing the song in this position also, after hearing it for years, but I believe the studio track is a semitone or microtone sharp for whatever reason. So thanks for posting this.
Awesome! Perfect ! 👌🏻😎
This was the first song at my first house party we were allowed to have we blasted it 82
Awesome…
Damn, I tried learning this riff by ear earlier this morning and couldnt have been further away if I tried! haha
Any tips on learning by ear at all?
Awesome lesson though man, thanks a lot for this!
Just discovered your channel the other day (aqualung lesson) you deserve more subs, great stuff !
I just recently for what ever reason accidentally rediscovered this song. Ill never forget a day in 1975 my uncle picked me up from school in his 1969 Plymouth roadrunner. He stuck a cassette in and this song started this was my introduction into the world of rock n roll. Before this i only remember country music and gospel. Needless to say to this day i absolutely hate country music. Thank you Billy. Dusty. Frank.😮
Nice video. I love your Pink Floyd lessons. Can you make a lesson video about Knebworth or Gdansk version of Comfortably Numb ?
great.
You are adding an extra note to the main riff. There is no G after returning to the A chord. The open strings you are playing ( G)after the A are not part of the riff. It resolves back to A only, with a quick staccato.
Standard tuning or drop
It's not standard tuning! Gibbons showed me: you turn the A string down to a G! It's 10x easier that way...
I heard it on the Twitter
I believe there was a lesson by Lick Library some years ago .
