- Lifted 97 dodge on 35s. it has a 9 inch suspension lift. has the 5.9 with straights and 5 inch tips. very loud. idk whats wrong with the sound...if you run it at a lower quality it should work right...and no thats not a dash cap and no you cant order one..its a county boy custom.

It doesn't sound terrible but it sounds like a mustang exhaust on a 360. Too obnoxiouly poppy, might as well just do a header dump under the cab at that point. Prolly sounds no where close inside than it does outside.

straight pipe on a factory motor sounds like shit.
The only time it sounds good is you have a high compression motor and your using it for drag racing or circle track but for the street, put some good quality mufflers on.
needs a good set of mufflers on it. with straight pipes all the pleasing tones created by the engine are mixed with the bad garbage(brappp) sounds. Mufflers cancel out the bad noise and leave you with the pleasurable tones you want to hear. If a cop hears that go by he thinks noob immediately gonna pull this kid over. He hears a set of flowmasters or magnaflows and thinks damn i wish my truck sounded like that, screw pulling him over im headed to autozone to get a set of pipes like that.

I could hear my 79 from the house when my brother (I got it off him a few years later) was passing the rosebud general store at least 5 miles away...3 inch duals with super forties and headers...extreme 4X4 cam from comp cams. It was annoying as hell to hear engine noises after I did the new buildup but it rattled shit off shelves in the garage lol

Damned fine sounding peecup, I love the pipes you got, I don't think it's the loudest on the planet, unless you don't get outa town that often. But, it does have that MOPAR sound, just like the other three brands have their distinctive sounds. Keep the oil changed, lube ever so often, keep check on all fluids, and it should last until you have at least 350 thousand. Good luck!

I got a '76 Plymouth Trailduster, with a 318, bored 20 over, with 340 heads, Weiand High-Rise, Dual Plane intake, 1" Mr. gasket Spacer, Summit Racing Valve Covers, a K&N air cleaner, and a 625 Street Demon 4 barrel carb to top it off with. Runnin dual-exhaust with glasspacks, 2" pipes, and stock exhaust manifolds. Even with my worn out glasspacks, mine has a deeper, more throaty growl to it. I have not messed with the cam, pistons, or crankshaft, (previous owner bored it, but didn't do anything else) and I'm still pushing 315 HP, and probably close to that on Torque. Got 32" Kenda Klever Mudding tires, and an awesome 4x4 to back it up with. Have never gotten stuck, even with driving in some pretty serious weather in a short stent in PA. Mud poses no problem, and with slight effort (due to a carb that needs to be finely tuned and a lame cam) I can easily peel out. You can usually hear me from a mile away, through trees, and that's with just cruising. Will have to say you have a couple things goin for ya with decent tires, 4x4, good bumpers, and loud pipes, but definitely not something I would claim Loudest Dodge Ram with. For just a Dodge Ram you have done some pretty good cosmetic work, with the rails, toolbox, bumpers, and a cool dash/ front half of interior, and for what it is you can be proud of what you've put into it, but I actually like the toolbox, rails, running boards, and front bumper better than the sound. Go with some Magnaflows or something to give it a stronger, deeper tone.

Tips do help out a lot, got a 05 dodge ram 1500 5.7 hemi duals from both cats with 4inch tips it has a deep sound. Notice the difference on mine from the 3inch tips to the four and I'm satisfied with the 4inch tips any bigger and I'll have to go back to glass packs

I hear that sound all the time, It is Teenagers running straight Pipes cause they have no clue what the hell they are doing. If you have straight pipes or just glass packs like cherry bombs, you are loosing power. Engine needs back pressure unless you are boosted. I would at least have some 10 Series Flowmasters.
