  • Today, the Norwegian Dawn docks in (close to) Copenhagen! I walk out of the port, which was a huge mistake HAHA then take the metro into the city and enjoy a sunny day in Copenhagen. I check out Nyhavn and tell you something interesting about Walt Disney visiting Tivoli! Then, I head back to the ship and prepare to disembark! Enjoy!

The same thing with immigration happened to me last month in New York arriving on the Getaway from Lisbon. I didn't have any problem getting off or back on; however, I went for lunch in Little Italy and to the Tenement Museum, and by the time I got back everyone had plenty of time to get back on. You're the perfect person for bargain cruising; i.e., you can go at the last minute and you're resourceful enough to create your own excursions. When I was on the Getaway in October, I met a couple from Hampshire. During our chats, I mentioned your videos. They were quite familiar with you, and we had a great time talking about how much we enjoyed watching you. You have fans literally from sea to sea.

You are right - the flight costs are what kills cruising for people not near cruise ports, and that also affects taking last minute deals.... you might get great last minute cruise prices, but the air fare then digs deeper than for others. The cheapest flights I could find Ottawa-Miami and Southampton-Ottawa were between $1,599 and $1,600, but flying with the cruise line's flights I only paid around $950... Of course my flight Ottawa-Montreal leaves at 5:45AM !!!! Living about 75km from the airport, and needing to be in the airport line by4:15 am(?) is a BIG pain.

Nice series Ben, enjoyed this cruise,
The Denmark stop was curious/interesting. For me Copenhagen is a wonderful city, yes expensive, however I factored that in, and travelled and budgeted accordingly. We are all different in this world, and you recognise that, and we all like/do/enjoy different thing in life, its about doing what is right for each of us.
Danish Border control is a lengthy process, even when I flew in, it was a hours queue, but hey some london airports can be that at times. I found Danish people to be so relaxed, friendly and kind, and that includes border control.
I would observe from how you have described it , that it felt like Norwegian Cruise Line didn't in anyway manage or communicate what it would be like on the last day and the port, that could have been so much more relaxed easier and quicker, and if everyone knew the arrangements in advance ie a few days before, you can plan your day, a letter less than 24hrs before was poor. It almost feels like they wanted you off the day you arrived, and you were a inconvenience, I wasn't there so its wrong of me to comment, but they didn't make it easy for you, with shuttle bus etc.
    Just my thoughts

If everything is free on board, except drinks (I’m guessing alcoholic only) and wifi… why did the steaks have prices on the menu? Or is not all the food free?

@@edwardsierpowski3839 nothing is free, Edward 😁 but most things are included. That’s a good question, I should have mentioned that about the prices on the menu. You can go to the complimentary dining room and order a steak from the specialty steak restaurant and pay extra for it. Everything with no price is included 👌

Okay so I thought I was seeing things but then I started really paying attention. Here's what I'm talking about? on my Roku TV I watch UA-cam and the picture for this video remains the same but the price of the cruise changes. Over the past hour this evening the price has gone from $55 to $56 to $ 54 and as of this writing the price on picture says 57 dollars. What are you trying to do drive me crazy or see if people are actually paying attention? I am laughing believe me. Lol I'm not watched it yet to see what you actually say but I will right now. LOL

I think you sound British, but you dress like an American 😜 especially your headwear. I’ve always heard that only Americans wear ball caps. And you have that San Francisco hat so people probably assume you’re American. 🤷🏼‍♀️
But I’m from the south and I have an accent. And I don’t really hear it myself most of the time. But certain words have that southern draw. And then I hear myself and I’m like damn I sound country as hell.😂
Also, do they have Uber in Copenhagen? Can you just Uber from the ship to the metro station at least. ?
Also FYI, I’m actually headed down to Walt Disney World this week. ❤ 🏰
And that’s a crazy price, because I’m gonna pay close to that for five days at Thanksgiving.? But that also does include gratuities and all the port fees. Do you use a certain website ?

I did buy me a gimbal and I’m just learning how to work that but I’m taking the train down tomorrow. It’s gonna be an adventure because living at the beach. I sold my car so we’ll see how it goes traveling around. But I think it’s gonna be fun I see life is an adventure anyways.
Good thing is I’ll be closer to the ports . But I chose Orlando as my first stop because I do have a annual pass the Disney so I just wanna go to the park for a while and enjoy the area. I’ve never really explored the bike trails around there and that’s kind of my thing I like to ride bikes.

Having to book a shuttle bus is completely bonkers, shuttle buses by their very name means it's shuttling back and forth all day, if it doesn't do that, it's not a shuttle bus, it's a booked chartered bus. Have never been charged for a shuttle bus on a cruise either.

  • @RenéeinVirginia

If you're not getting off the ship why the immigration check? Makes zero sense. If the itinerary says Copenhagen they should shuttle you in if not near the port! Especially since last night is in port and casino and shops are closed!
(You sound totally british to me. Not close to American) Too ugly to be a ballet dancer?! 😂 Pretty stark except for the colorfully painted buildings. So nice that you are close to a port. I guessed $650. You can't live on mainland for 10 days for $573. 😂 Thanks for taking us along on cruise. ♥️
