I have started converting CPTUI over to ACF on all my client sites. The ACF custom post types and taxonomies work really well.

According to ACF if you create an acf-json folder in your theme folder, when you import/save any data it will be stored in there as Json. One less plugin and less database calls.

ACF is doing great work. What's the difference between ACF & Metabox? Why Pro users go with Metabox?
What do you mean by Pro users go with MetaBox? I'm not seeing that being the case. ACF has wider adoption in the WordPress ecosystem and has been established for many years.
MetaBox is a solid product, but I don't see it being something that is more 'Pro' than ACF (Pro).
@@WPTuts I just don't know what to say that's why I added Pro 😅. What I meant that there are some concerns that ACF add database table and that can slow down the website if it has too many CPTs and content.
@@gojiyaravi2that is potentially true, but there are solutions out there that allows you to put the ACF data into its own table.

Actually there are numerous differences. ACF in most cases, writes things to the database in it's own tables. For me, until ACF guarantees that it will write ALL data into the "standard" tables used for CPTs, I still use CPTUI!
Why? Because at other stages of development if you or say another plugin is relying on CPT data to be in it's standard and expected location.. but yet it is in some custom ACF table or format = problems!

It is a bit strange that ACF decided to take out of the market CPTUI after a very long time these plugins were used together.

Yes, it can fully replace CPTUI.
Why? Probably because the original developer no longer owns ACF, and the new devs want to remove the reliance on another plugin to do something that really should have been in ACF a long time ago. :)
Can i ask a question? Why move from a free and open source software to a payed one - even on its free version? I'm not by default against it, i'm just trying to figure why someone would follow this path.
Many people who have traditionally used CPTUI have combined it with ACF (free or pro) to add meta fields, etc.
Now, there is no need to use CPTUI if you are an ACF user, and this allows you to quickly move everything over to ACF and then remove a plugin that is no longer required.
