I was actually Alfie's vocal coach! :) He had his first singing lesson with me two years before he won the voice and we worked together on all his performances throughout the show. I took him for his very first singing lesson, right through to winning The Voice in just two years. It's a good lesson in hard work and dedication. I am really proud of him.
I have to be honest, Alfie exhibits a quality that is vulnerable earnest passionate, assertive & expressive in a way that men don't often express or believe in themselves (or weren't encouraged to do so) honestly it's a beautiful yet more rare demonstration of manhood
It's because he's a gay.

Alfie is more expressive than most men, hugging a member of either gender.with equal comfort and opening his heart before the microphone in speech or song... And yet he is witty, handsome, masculine, and skilled at multiple creative arts, not really "androgynous,", just a complete man and a full humam being. Eventually, with Delta's help, his family's support, and the audience's enthused response, Alfiie becomes confident as well.
Obviously, I feel the world needs more Alfies.

There is absolutely NO discussion of Alfie's sexuality in the entire video, but I should think that any group would be proud to claim him as one of their own.

I feel like social media is the topic here. Many men ARE like this. It's like when women say all men are pigs or whatever. That's only the case for a few men who are approaching those women; most men don't approach so women don't pay attention to them. Actually, a lot things are probably being ignored within mainstream media. I'm referring to North American culture btw. And guys do a lot of things within guy circles. I was Alfie's vocal coach! :) I took him for his very first singing lesson, right through to winning The Voice in just two years. He originally came in for lessons to sing 'All of Me' at his sister's wedding as a surprise for her after surviving cancer. The rest is history!
All of the songs he performed on The Voice were chosen by Alfie and I together in our lessons. Except 'Pillowtalk' and 'Drag me Down'👍
I love this coach. You convince Alfie to be a WINNER of this season. And he accepted. Both of you are amazing and I thank you.

The more I listen, is the more I am amazed with his voice singing those lyrics into the heart. He is indeed special and a likeable individual.
He has a very nice natural gift. I bet a lot of lifetime singers would want to sing like that.

You can tell that he was just made for this. He was completely untrained, inexperienced, and humble but he sang with his entire being. I can feel his soul through my computer screen.
I needed two good cries this morning. His uncle’s passing and his sister’s story were so heart wrenching and real. Such a genuine soul! Loved your journey! Keep going! All the best!

Amazing how he developed though a natural too. Such passion..like how I can hear the words distinctly even when in a lower key. So wonder what happens now? As he's an architect too..glad he doesn't have everything riding on his singing..can do both.

How in the world could this most talented man have kept himself hidden to his talent in this world so anxious hear voices this big, beautiful, soft, tender and gorgeous? It seems like we’ve been deprived and I hope the reasons for keeping his talent hidden has been resolved in his own mind to handle the stardom his reveal will bring, and he’s allowed to continue to be himself and enjoy life on his terms. May his success be his joy.

I just watched the Alfie Acuri story from the Voice. The very first song for the audition, I knew he had a gift. The tone , the tenure plus his range. I sat there, aghast. Then I heard that he had had No formal training or , really no exposure. Wow.
It was no surprise that he won the Voice, but the change from the start to the end was mind blowing.
Congratulations Alfie. The others were really good , but you blew them out of the water with amazing performances.

Wow what a beautiful person and wonderful talent. I was just flipping through videos and his voice made me stop immediately. His performances were so open, he connected so well with the audiance we could feel his heart and he just kept pulling us in. It was just wonderful!
