    I took an hour and divided my pile into categories ie jeans and put each category in its own box. Now I lift the cover on a box and list at least 5 items each day. Usually I can get more done but I only ask myself to do five. I go thrifting only when I am near a source or get the itch. Getting better at leaving more behind!

    I am right with you on the deathpile. My family says I’m a hoarder. I am most definitely not. However I am a perfectionist and a procrastinator If I can’t Tackle it all ‘right now perfectly” then it stops me from even starting. I am trying to release my perfectionism and know that even small goals daily add up and bless my family - if just one box or tote is taken care of and packed away. This thinking ‘why even start’ and go to the bins or estate sales MUST stop! Lol

    I look at a lot of Poshmark closets and I think…this person somehow found the will to list that Old Navy tank top, but I can’t seem to get those really great pair of Dr Martens listed (one example of many). What price should I charge? Which photo is best? I honestly think that much of the time I create my own needless hurdles, but for what possible reason? Most people would be grateful to have the local sourcing opportunities that I have. One problem is that I love listening to UA-cam reseller videos so my focus keeps switching. This one says “get those summer clothes up NOW” so off I go to sort those out. Half an hour later….she sold this dress for $150 on Depop! I don’t have Depop but I HAVE THAT DRESS! Better go make a Depop NOW!………..Ok, I think I just have ADHD.

One my biggest challenge is the pricing of my items. If I price them too low plus the low offers then there is no profit to be made and I would make nothing. On the other side, if I price my items on the high side, I get no offers. What do you suggest? Do you have a quick way to price things? Thanks.

    I've been tackling mine too! I also realized that my reward needs to be watching "thrift haul" videos - everytime I watch those, I instantly want to go sourcing and that's not a good idea with a huge death pile. Instead, I'm saving those up for after I get a certain number of listings finished.

  • @kabbystevens5167

    I too have a death pile that I have been tackling. The best tip I have found works for me is the “new” items MUST get listed BEFORE I can source again (best part is sourcing, just being honest) and I add the same number of items from my “death pile” plus 2. So if I pick up 8 new items, 8 +2 get listed. Many times I get more than the 10 items listed from my death pile. How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.

    When sourcing, use sold prices to help guide what you buy. If there isn’t much of a market for an item, don’t buy it. This is how I source since I don’t have ready access to a goodwill bins. I don’t have too bad of a death pile but still found this to be helpful. How I keep mine under control is I have a bin and a bag in my loft that are what need to be listed. If they are full and I’ve gone sourcing, it stays in my trunk. If there is a bag in my trunk, I’m not allowed to go shopping again until there is room to move that bag into the two options in my loft.

    I loved this video and it’s reality for all of us. I agree with giving yourself a goal to list a certain amount of items and then allowing yourself to source. However when I do this I have sourcing limits. #1 I take cash so I have to stick to whatever budget I give myself which is usually only 20% from a previous sales weeks. #2 i carefully source. If my death pile is larger than life I will set a goal of only sourcing quick flip items that would sell for over $50. If I can’t find anything I can then go 2 other stores to find items(I almost always do). This works for me. I have to be super excited about the item. It has to sell for over $50 and sell quickly so it won’t be in the death pile. I won’t even inventory it because the items I find usually sell within a day or two.
    Todays quick flips were, Rothy’s, Rib cage boot cut jeans size 32, and a hard to find FP dress. All will sell over $50 and before the week is over. Mission accomplished.

I sourced so much ( very cheaply ) - then my health declined drastically. Taking pictures ( of the clothes ) is the hardest for me . I have tried to get help but with no luck . Before you think you have it bad, I want you to think of this. I closed 2 ebay stores and now have a death pile of over 5,000 articles of clothing. Jeans, button up shirts, shorts, polos, t shirts, coats, sweaters, etc.
    One of those was an everything store. VCRs, Books, DVDs, Plush, collectibles, Electronics, Car Parts, Pictures, name something and I probably sold it on that store.
    Now I am building a new store from scratch to streamline what I sell, with occasional random stuff.
    So that means everything that doesn't belong in this store will go to a flea market or listed in bulk on FB market place.
    So, I find your death pile manageable. Lol
    Anyways, loved the video. Subbed. Can't wait to see more of what you do.

I know it was a lost but I also promised myself that I would never pick up an item again that I was not motivated to list. Another wonderful video with very little to no filtering I'm sure. I love to listen and watch your video's as I'm learning to be a reseller and setting up all my posts every week. I repost weekly 358 posts 1 post at a time. I'm not on list perfectly yet. This posting weekly takes up easily 20-25+ hours straight, if I didn't take any breaks of any kind. Any advice if it's worth bulking xxs, xs s sizes to get sales? I can't seem to sell the smaller sizes. The larger ones sell much easier. Thank you in advance for your time, consideration and possible comment.

    • @beckyparkco
      @beckyparkco  2 роки тому +1

      thank you for your kind words! Yes; smaller sizes do tend to sell slower, but in my experience, they will eventually sell. I know for myself personally, I don't like to buy in bulk unless it's kids stuff. If you're ok with waiting, I think it's ok to list smaller pieces out individually.
