What's weird is that in my experience hitting fire and punch at the exact same time doesn't normally work for projectile parry, you have to punch just slightly after you fire. Which makes it feel like they coded it to do this on purpose
not rlly, it was origonally a glitch, because you can parry almost all projectiles but hakita (as he does) found it goofy and made it a mechanic god I love this game
Thank you, this is actually a very good challenge idea. Just to warm up I decided to complete the entire prelude on standard this way. I could walk, look around, and switch weapons, but every other action (jumping, sliding, shooting, dashing, whiplashing, punching) was bound to LMB. The scary thing is that it is actually completely beatable. I even P ranked Cerberus this way (just to make things clear, I already had every weapon unlocked).
Follow up, I beat limbo. What was interesting is that the most challenging thing weren't the enemy encounters or the bosses, but the platforming sections. I spent several minutes trying to get to the door at the start of 1-2. And the fact that you end up dashing every time you shoot makes hazards like bottomless pits and grinders a lot more dangerous. I could easily clear enemies with the combination of attractor sawblade spam + projectile boosting, but I dreaded every single gap, every single wall I had to traverse. I literally have no idea how I will be able to complete the more platforming heavy levels of the game, especially 6-1 and 5-2.
I forgot to mention how exactly this challenge alters the moveset. While your stamina is full, you are basically constrained to one single movement (aside from simply walking), a regular dash. You can't really perform any cool tricks and long jumps while you have every single action bound to 1 button. *You cannot jump while you still have stamina. You also can't boost yourself with explosions, since the dash will cancel out any momentum from the explosion. If you want to do any of these things or, really, just perform such a basic action as jumping or wall climbing, you have to deplete your stamina first.* I have beat lust and gluttony. Probably the most frustrating out of those 6 levels was 2-1. I simply could not traverse the beginning area and at that point I almost thought that the challenge was impossible. Then I decided to go through the alternate secret path instead. I managed to get through through that part by going the secret route at the beginning and launching myself with the malicious railcannon while my stamina was depleted. I then did a series of midair dashes to just barely reach a jumppad. From there the level was easy. Gabriel and Minos Corpse was surprisingly easy as well. I P-ranked the corpse and S-ranked Gabriel (I died to him once during the fight).
that is impressive, maybe it is a way to let everyone to use the mechanics of the game without the hability of the player being an issue, on the other side, it fells so good to parry your own shotgun on your own that I will do it manually till the end.

(What im saying is what makes the most sense to me as someone who has gotten familiar with coding and game development) this isn't a bug, or lag ,it isn't specifically delay, this is simply the punch code being activated/written a couple of frames/lines after the shoot code Since shotgun punch is a nearly frame perfect action, a couple of frame delays should be enough to cause this So to fix this all hakita has to do is too literally just move the code and nothing else... probably And the outcome probably changes by changing the frame rate, lower it or higher it and see what happens

I doubt it will, When deadcoining you have to press the keys at slightly different times, binding them to the same key probably won't do that. (Though to be fair, you have to punch slightly after firing to projectile boost and yet apparently it works for that.)
