I agree with you. For me, I am not a big fan of Nana, but when I saw the Nendoroid, I was very shocked by how bad it was. Of course, I did not order it and I do not think it is worth its value. I am sorry to the fans of her, I hope you get something better than that.
unfortunately if enough people preorder they won't change anything (I could maybe see them fixing the eyeshadow but that's about it) because if they're making money they know they won't need to listen to criticism or change a thing.
I really hope they do though. They recently made a nendo of Usui from "Maid Sama" and got his hair color completely wrong. They painted it brown when it was supposed to be blonde. Once preorders opened, they corrected it and updated the prototype photos to blonde hair. So it shows they are seeing the feedback. I just hope the feedback for this one is just as loud as Usui's was so they can fix her too.
yeah...i remember when the nendo was announced. I was deff 100% buying- we had nothing besides the scales. But then the PopMart collab released. So I just got all of those instead. Now I'm not sure I'll get her anymore. (maybe if we see hachi before nana releases) I'm a Vocaloid/miku collector mainly. so as you imagine, i have to be careful 😭. I only buy nendos when it's a rare char, or the nendo is just /that/ good. There's also unofficial statues. i didn't get the nana one- but i hear they're doing shin and someone else next. I'm still not really sure i'll get it, since I don't fully get the appeal of unofficial resin statues yet. But the idea is growing on me.
When I first look at the nendo I thought she was cute and wanted to preorder first thing, but a closer look made me not do it (and money be tight lol). I wanna say that the reason they haven't announced Hachi yet is because they want to wait and see if enough people preorder nana and determine if it's worth it or not. But I also feel like that's not a smart thing to do because most people don't buy just one of the girls. They want both together. These aren't characters you can separate. They're meant to be together.😭
I was so shocked and sad when I saw her. The faceplates are disappointing, especially the last one 'sad'/neutral I'm genuinely upset. How did that faceplate even make it through?? I thought about pre-ordering her regardless, where i usually get them she's at 33€ or 35usd. (which is 45€ or 48usd total with shipping and vat). But I'll probably just get her cheaper later on locally. I'm too petty to pre-order when I'm upset with a figure. Also it not being a Hachi match??? they should've come out as a 'set' and interacting like we've had with other Nendos. For me one of the main appeals of Nendoroids is how dynamic they can be, you can display the same figure solo without looking like its missing anything but can also make them interact with each other cause theyre usually coming in sets. I feel like half of a table as a gsc bonus would be nice, in the same way they do the animal extras, and then Hachi got the other half and we could make it look like theyre at least having a conversation in the same room idk. About the outfit, i think theyre referencing the "starless night" background because it looks exactly like it including the tights (that outfit doesnt have fishnets its just normal tights), and abt the eyeshadow she does have red eyeshadow in some of her looks when it comes to manga, i don't think she had it in the anime at any point (?) ,, when the manga had red eyeshadow the anime just skipped eyeshadow fully,, I could be wrong tho I do prefer the purple and really wish they made it purple especially cause they make the nendos based on the anime versions so why the change here? About the "face looks weird" comment I feel like the front of the hair could've been done better in relation to the face, it almost blends too much into the face lines (aka its the hair thats making it look weird and "chunky" not a bad translation of styles, imo) So yeah not pre-ordering just risking it and hoping I'll get it cheaper locally and if not I'll just pay the 10€ pettiness fine
Honestly, I would have been somewhat ok with the color detail mistakes they made if the faceplates were good. But to screw both up just shows us they couldnt care less about bringing this character to "life" for fans. I do agree that the appeal of nendos is that you can pose them separately without feeling like they're missing anything most of the time. I think for a series like this though, at least for me, even if I were to pose her dynamically without Hachi, I would still feel like something is missing because this series revolves so much around their relationship with each other. It's a huge part of it if not the main thing. It would be as equally as weird for me if they were to release Hachi and not Nana. I didn't realize they were using some colors to reference the manga. But I agree that is weird. They did the same thing with the Usui nendo from "Maid Sama." When prototype photos first released, his hair was brown to match the manga. But everything else looked like it was based off the anime. His hair in the anime is blonde. I think enough people had complained becuase once preorders opened up, GSC updated the prototype photos and changed his hair to blonde to match the anime. Also---I respect the pettiness LMFAO!!!
