Watching this as a Norwegian was fun.
The guy who was bothered by the whale meat. Believe me, some of us are too. I don't eat whale, and have only ever tried it once when I was younger. I liked it. I just won't eat it for personal reasons.

Alt for Norge is the original show, the Sweden one being based from this. We share a lot of similar shows and concept as we are close neighbouring countries.
Season 1 I thoguht it cringy how they handled the American stereotypes if I remember correctly(it has been a while since I saw it so I might be mixing things up a bit). But it really is such a cozy show with a lot of heart.
Rømmegrøt(the porridge in the beginning), every Norwigian has had it, but its not everyone's favorite lol Its a pretty distinct consistency as wella as a bit of a bland and not very sweet taste unless you add things to it.
It is pretty common to serve at 17.May as lunch or breakfast.
The whale meat thing is not a huge deal here. The whale meat that is eaten are common in the coasts of Norway and not endangered. And I personally think as long as we eat and mistreat other intelligent animals (like pigs who are veary intelligent and extremely common food), free living whales only hunted to be eaten should be least of our worries when it comes to animal cruelty.
I myself have never eaten it, and its less common depending on where you live in Norway. Of course some people is aginst it and wont eat it for personal reasons in Norway as well.

Oh man, I loved this show. It was so good. They certainly gathered a weird and eccentric bunch, but their enthusiasm was truly infectious, I kept rooting for them all. The way they kept supporting each other through it all was incredible. The challenges were tough and perhaps often humiliating, but they always had each other's backs. So I think that the Americans, or shall I say "Norwegian cadettes", came out on top every season. It was always incredibly sad to see one of them sent home, cause they never deserved it. And Henriette, was such devious but funny host 🤣

Firstly, I really love that you react and watch this show. Kudos to you for exploring things a bit out of the ordinary when it comes to reactions 👍 «Alt for Norge» is the original concept,as said by others. The Swedish version is just a bad copy, in my eyes. I have watched both. They took the idea because the Norwegian one gained so much popularity. I watched every season of «Alt for Norge» and I hope it will come back again.

I wish the parents of these people taught them norsk when you tho. It’s a shame most Americans lost their language ✌🏻 The one thing I miss about the programme is the real Norwegian life. This is very much over exaggerated 🤣

The Swedish version is based on this show, but they didn't seem to know that «Alt for Norge / Everything for Norway» is the Norwegian King's motto and have a deeper meaning for Norwegians because of it ties to the fight for freedom during WW2, and when breaking out of the union with Sweden.
Swedish King's motto is «För Sverige i tiden/For Sweden - with the Times». Might have been a better choice.? Although I don't think Swedes are as connected to it as Norwegians are.
