Merci encore.
Hello gents. Saw this video today and decided to sign in to UA-cam after many many years to add a comment. I enjoy watching Lara reactions primarily as confirmation bias to my love of her music. I have been a fan since the release of Carpe diem in 1994. In both of your deep dives I have also greatly enjoyed Eric's data dump. I think I can honestly say that I actually feel pain when I hear of her very difficult life experiences. I was very happy that Eric led you to this concert but somewhat disappointed that time constraints seemed to limit your discourse, particularly in the second half. No criticism, because a lot of ground was being covered. I was particularly interested in your views on la Traviata but it seems to have been cut short. Also, I am always amused to hear people compare her to other singers and rank her against them. A highly subjective exercise for sure. To me I remember my old marketing lessons where it was emphasized that "if you can't be the best in your category, create a new category". As a writer, arranger, vocalist, actor and peerless empath she is alone in her category. She doesn't do whistle tones, she doesn't have a ridiculous octave range but no one integrates such a broad range of talents as she does. I enjoy and am impressed by many artists but no one moves me like Lara.
🇨🇦 I will leave the comments to you all, and I will simply say that I always enjoy listening to my favourite artist ! Just a pianist, a piano and Lara ! 🇨🇦
Hi Johnny and Richard, I've watched this reaction video for the 4th time. I love Lara and I hope you will do more reactions of her concerts next time. Please 🙏 ❤ 😊
Lara is recognized as one of the best vocalists ever seen on earth and all professionals list her in the top vocalist tier with Barbra, Whitney, Mariah, Celine, and Lisa Fischer,... In my opinion, she is even the best. There are a few vocal characteristics that are her signature: her famous resonance for instance allows her to sing acapella without a mic in venues with 8,000 attendees. Her nickname in the singing world is "The Ring" due to this. I would also list her amazing phrasing, breath management, and her pleasant tone even when belting in her upper register. So, she is one of the best vocalists ever, but on top of that, she adds a few things that make her an absolute package with no equivalence: • she speaks 2 languages natively (French, Italian), and 2 others fluently (English, Spanish), can speak a bit of Dutch (and Sicilian), and understand quite well Russian and Portuguese. She has sung in 12 languages in total • she is an amazing songwriter and wrote lyrics for most of her songs, in the 4 languages she speaks fluently. She often co-composes the music with the composer. • she acts and performs on stage as nobody else, she colors and reveals the meaning of every single word in the songs, and her ability to emote, to draw you in is second to none • She is the sweetest soul on earth, very humble, down to earth and benevolent. She likes to meet others, and her fans are always pleasantly surprised when this happens. A quick background on her and her career: She is Belgian, her father is Flemish, but also has Italian roots (her mother is from Sicilia) and American roots ( her grandfather is from Detroit). She was raised in Sicilia first then in Belgium, so she speaks both Italian and French as native languages. She has been classically trained in vocal, piano, and song composition for 10 years ( from 8 to 18) at the Brussels Royal Conservatory. She is still having vocal lessons and training several times a week today. She started her career in Canada in the early 90s, more precisely in Quebec, the French-speaking part of Canada. She had been living for years in Montreal and has also Canadian citizenship. She just moved back to Italy a few months ago (temporarily?). She became very famous in Quebec and then conquered France in 1996/1997 (she topped the charts there and some of her songs such as "Je t'aime" or "Tout" became classics of French music). In 2000, she was about to penetrate the US Market, with a lot of media initial interest. Her first English song (I Will Love Again), a pop dance song, stayed number one on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart for 58 weeks in a row and number 32 on the Billboard Hot 100. Her Album ("Lara Fabian") was about to become a massive hit, and the concert "From Lara With Love" was recorded to be broadcast everywhere in the US. This concert is legendary, packed with masterpieces (covered by many great vocalists later). But a dispute with Sony on artistry directions, and the will from Celine Dion's staff to block her progress in the US, completely broke this plan. She thus refocused back on Europe and had huge success there, extending her reach to Eastern Europe and Central Asia where she became an absolute superstar through her collaboration with Igor Krutoy for several years. She is massive in Russia for instance. She is also a star in Brazil as her song "Love By Grace", used as the soundtrack for a very famous soap opera, topped the charts for months and become recurrent in the local singing contests since then. Many of her songs became classics and were covered by other singing legends: Barbra Streisand, Shirley Bassey, and Josh Groban (they are friends and he told her she is a role model for him), … With her success in Europe, Brazil, and part of Asia, she is the inspiration of the new generation of vocalists: most of them are coming from there. Through their covers of Lara Fabian's songs, the USA and many other countries are now rediscovering her. She is Dimash's idol: I’ve read somewhere that, when he was a child, he was listening to her songs every night to get asleep. He covered many of her songs, most of which were composed by Igor Krutoy and written by Lara. Out of my mind, I can list: ○ Adagio (She wrote it and is the original performer), ○ Mademoiselle Hyde (she wrote it and is the original performer), ○ Love of Tired Swans (she wrote the song in French under the title "Je time encore" and was the original performer of the French then the Russian versions, Dimash covered the Russian version) ○ Ascolta La Voce / Vocalize (this was a pure vocalization and she was the original performer, then lyrics were added for Dimash and it was rebranded as "Know") She also wrote the lyrics of Dimash's song "Your Love". She covered "Love is Like a Dream" before him (a song from Igor Krutoy originally performed by Allah Pugacheva). Finally, they also performed "Ti Amo Cosi" together, in a trio with Aida Garafulina: this is a song that she performed originally with Dmitri Hvorostovsky and Sumi Jo then again later with Dmitri and Alina Yarovaya before this new trio with Dimash and Aida. Dimash is now also working with Igor Krutoy: Igor and Dimash connected after his Adagio cover, also endorsed by Lara. Igor came back from retirement and composed several songs for him after it. Many other top vocalists from the current generation covered her songs, some have Lara as a role model and big inspiration: ○ Floor Jansen (Adagio), ○ Polina Gagarina (Adagio, Je t’aime), ○ Diana Ankudinova (Tomorrow is a lie), ○ Morissette Amon (Broken Vow), ○ Gabriel Henrique (Love by Grace), ○ Cakra Khan (Broken Vow), ○ Katrina Velarde (Broken Vow), ○ Regine Velasquez (Broken Vow), ○ Dmitri Hvorostovsky (Adagio), ○ Giulia Falcone (Adagio, Caruso, Je suis malade, Je t'aime), ○ Forestella (Je suis Malade), ○ Almira (from 4th Impact band) (Broken Vow), ○ Gigi de Lana (Broken Vow) ○ Julie Anne San Jose (Adagio, Broken Vow), ○ Rimar ( Adagio, Broken Vow, Know), ○ Il Divo (Adagio) ○ Daria Bentsa (I guess I loved you), ○ Sarah Geronimo (Broken Vow) ○ Laura Bretan ( Adagio, Caruso), ○ Jackie Evancho (Je t’aime, Caruso and Broken Vow, BV rewritten as « Imaginer » by Lara for Jackie), ○ Amir (Je t’aime), ○ Vitas (Adagio), ○ Anastasia Luna (Adagio), ○ Jeck (Je T’Aime), ○ Evgenia Fanfara (Adagio), ○ Anna Eriksson (Je suis malade), ○ Choi Sung Hoon (Je suis malade), ○ Soprano Turetsky band (Adagio) ○ Majda Roumi (Adagio), ○ Harrison Craig (Broken Vow), ○ Petra Berger (Adagio, Broken Vow), ○ Katerina Maslova (Je t’aime, I guess I loved you) ○ Sevara Nazarkhan (Je t’aime) ○ .... NB: Lara did cover Caruso , Je suis malade, and Love by grace, these are not her originals, but I mention these here as the related artists were attracted to cover it again after listening to Lara’s version. Today, Lara still has an amazing voice and tone and can still reach the 5th octave with resonance; she still offers these emotive renditions that are her unique signature. In June 2022, she kicked off a WW tour and stunned her fans once again with 5 magical concerts in Canada. She completed the European part in September/October, and I attended a concert from this tour. It was packed and she was spectacular again. In April and May 2023, she had again a wonderful concert in Tbilissi, Georgia, and in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. Sorry if I was long, but I hope this gives some context on Lara.
For me, Lara was, is and always will be one of the best singers in the World. I'm happy to see that you guys love her as much as many of us do. Thanks for the live, it was incredible. I'll definitely wait for more. Greetings from Poland 🫶
Unfortunately I couldn't follow the live broadcast and I've just finished watching my favorite Lara concert (it's past midnight here). Thank you Throga for this long trip, the best three hours of my past day and the beginning of the new one. And thanks also to Eric for his interesting comments, as always. 😉👍
Thank you so much for that live. I very much enjoy your natural and easygoing way to deliver your reactions.
So, according to me you are a Lara's official fan. 😂
Gracias!
Thank you for reacting to this concert. Imo it's peak artistry and everything is just perfect: from her vocals, arrangement of the songs to musicians, staging, lighting ...Lara is a gem and powerhouse of emotions. Once again thank you❤
I loved the woman in her 30 year with her intensity and her vocal performances. I loved the 40 year old with her willingness to discover many different musical styles, always with a fabulous voice. And I love the woman in her 50s who has managed to preserve her voice through hard work, adapting to the evolution of her voice while retaining that little bit of enthusiasm and complicity that makes us melt. I will love you forever and ever Even if you start rap
For me , her other best concert is at the Kremlin in 2011, Mademoiselle Zhivago written by her and music composed by Maestro Igor Krutoy, her movie 58 min long is also a masterpiece. Her songs are in english, french, spanish, italian and russian, no other female singer can generate he show like this one, it his a Broadway show at V speed 100%
I love Lara so much 🥰 I was born in the mid 90's and being french, she's one of the first french speaking singers that i remember being a fan of because she could compete with the great divas ! And she's such a great storyteller and so good at conveying emotions ❤ And to hear "Tu es mon autre" with Maurane again is just amazing ❤😭
It was a great live, I learned a lot and discovered some Lara songs that I had not heard so far. I got goosebumps several times during your live reaction. Such a great performer, singer and storyteller she is, a truly complete artist, definitelly. See you soon again 👋
Richard and Johnny you are ones of our favorite reactors!!...Thank you for this amazing gift!!...And thank you Eric for your incredible knowledge and support to our Goddess Lara!!❤
Thank you Richard, Johnny and Eric, for this great reaction, to one of the most beautiful concerts, from my absolute favorite singer. Lara is simply wonderful❤
Thank you so much to all 3 of you....great info from Eric and wonderful reaction from Richard & Johnny . As for Lara , she has been my favorite for years. I hope we will get to see more of Eric and Lara on your show. It is such a treat. ❤🥰
So glad Eric (who is truly the master of all things Lara) had you react to the En Toute Intimite concert. I have been fortunate to have seen Lra in concert on 14 occasions over the years dating from the late 90's in Montreal. My late wife and I were blessed to have been in Paris that February and attending one of the three performances at the Olympia. By far my favorite Lara performance and the Olympia my favorite venue given its intimacy. I've seen Lara there 3 times in concert (as well as David Bowie (there's a contrast :-), Isabelle Boulay and other. Always loved the Olympia but tht performance was epic. Thanks for reacting and huge thanks to Eric for guiding you through
Emotion from beginning to end in this fantastic concert by Lara Fabian. A mix of feelings that deeply touches the heart and soul. Great job guys. Congratulations!!!
This was wonderful. Really appreciate you giving us your time and reacting to this masterpiece. Advice: next time you a couple of hous, sit in a dark room and watch this concert with subtitles on your TV screen and you will find another dimension to this concert. ❤
Thank you so much for doing this! I was fortunate to see her both nights in Ottawa in June. I have recordings of several of these songs. If you’re interested in hearing her perform them today, I can certainly get them to you.
Thank you Richard and Johnny for your reaction. I am sure that Lara is feeling it from wherever she is. I which you can meet her. Always lift us up with her voice. Love you guys
What a fabulous concert! Lara takes us into her world, but also transforms herself into a true ambassador of French chanson, with songs by Charles Aznavour, Jacques Brel, Jean-Jacques Goldman, Renaud and Serge Lama, as well as Michel Berger's musical STARMANIA, a "little jewel" that I've been listening to non-stop since its release. I'd also like to pay tribute to Maurane, who we miss with her "warm" voice.
She opened a part of my heart that was sleeping in my chest. Each of their songs moves me and tears roll down my cheeks. I love you and your beautiful voice. ❤❤😢
Thank you very much for this wonderful moment you shared with us 🙏, I was lucky to see this concert, surely one of the most beautiful I have seen in my life. Imagine being in the third row and seeing Lara come in a nightie and sing La Traviata, my god. This concert follows a period when Lara was very criticized, She says it herself "I sing too loud I'm too much...", by this concert she closed the beak to a lot of people, and that's her strength she is what and how to stay herself, for our greatest pleasure 😊 Et grand merci à Eric 👍
Hey guys, here come some infos: Firstly, I'd like to thank you both for the gift and congratulations for the assertive and emotional analyses. Let me start by saying that Lara recorded this DVD to "calm down" the French critics of music, whom for years made harsh and unfounded criticisms about her, calling her "the singer who only screams", they even created puppets of her and showed videos of them screaming during hours on the most famous TV shows in France, from 1997 to 1998, Lara said that when she watched it on TV, she cried a lot and even spent days without being able to sing, She decides to stay on mute mode due to the trauma. It is necessary to understand that the music industry and the francophone audience (especially from France) have a very peculiar taste in music, different from the audience in the United States who LOVE singers who "scream/belts a lot", fireworks and dancers interacting with the singer, the public and French critics HATE these things, they prefer whn the singer doesn't belt at all or just a little bit, so the singer MUST to keep her voice in the medium register (C4 to C5), so Just for the record, in all of the songs she sang on this dvd, she lowered at least 1 tone and didn't belt even 20% than she does in her usual live performances and in her albums. She did this because she was afraid of belting too much and holding high notes for several seconds (which is easy for her) so the concert would receive only negative reviews from the critics. In fact eve nowadays Lara still changes her tracklist and adjusts her vocal range while touring on France, she doesn't belt as much as when she performs outside France. The last song she sang it's called "bambina" (child/girl, in Italian), is about a miscarriage that she suffered 2 years before This concert, in fact Lara has already reported that she had 2 or 3 miscarriages throughout her life, and just managed to have her daughter in 2007 after medical treatment. She also suffered a lot from bulimia and anorexia when she entered the USA music industry, years ago during a looong Interview in Canada she revealed that back in 2000 Sony Music producers put in the contract she signed required her to be skinny (S size), She would be belting in every song of her album in English, she should also have to keep her hair platinum blonde (as the USA audience prefer like that) and she would have to perform among more than 6 dancers with her on stage. She accepted It for just 1 year, then she performed in several tv shows, radios and awards in The USA Just the way Sony asked her to, but she started to get seriously physically ill and depressed and then she broke the contract, Sony decided to boycotted her songs and albums in the USA industry and radios, they also canceled the recordings of her video clips and her next album in English that would be released in the end of 2002, even though she managed to keep her songs I Will Love Again for 52 weeks at the #1 position om Billboard Dance Charts. But with no regret she went back to Canada in the same year (2002) she broke with Sony and recorded an album entirely in French called Intime (which became her second most seller French album) just one year before this DVD you guys just reacted to. ❤ In 2005 she launched her own label (The NEUF Music Productions) and started to release her album being her own boss, no more Sony or other company would control her compositions or the way she sings her songs. PS: Sorry, English is my third language. 😊😅
@@Scott-f2j I agree, but the French audience and specially the French media made a lot of nonsense jokes about Lara back in 1997/1998 because of her high notes and belting skills. That's sad.
@@EmanuelRecemConvertidoIt is sad. Judging from the audience reactions from Lara’s concerts in France I would say there was/is a significant number of people who disagree with the critics. To me art critics add no value, have no place telling people what they should like or not like and are too lazy or lack the courage to create something of their own.
I always wondered why she wasn't more popular in the US. She is one of the best female performers and voices of our time for sure. I don't understand the language she sings in but I can listen to her for hours. This video explains that and it's a shame for the fans like me who ended up finding her on UA-cam. Sony be damned. I can certainly understand why the Sony executives wouldn't want the horse they backed singing in the same venue as Lara.
I speak a little French, but when she sings, for example in Italian, I feel the same as you, I don't need to understand her because the emotions she conveys are universal 👋
I know she is really popular in New York, but you guys have really been robbed for years. Lara has the rest of the world and we here in Europe love her. I jumped on a plane from Norway to Budapest to see her in concert Amazing😊
Thanks for reacting to this wonderful concert. It is my favourite together with her tour 9. It is not just her voice and performance. She has beautiful songs.
Some of the songs in her performances with Krutoy, unfortunately, are lip-synced "Llora" being one of the more notable among a number that are faked. Sad, but true. I wish she had had the backbone or clout necessary to refuse participation in such deception on this scale.
I forgot to say thank you to Gaby from Lara The Ring Fabian, who made all the subtitles for this video. Btw, she has a lot of videos with English subtitles on her channel❤
You spoke about official music videos and i agree. Lara is best LIVE. Except, I WILL LOVE AGAIN!! Reaction wise , the Music Video is the way to go. Lara is doing so much with her body language and dancing on a stage in a nicht club. She is on fire and the sex appeal is through the roof. You dont get that at from Lara with love in the same way, who most react to just because they do every other song from that concert.
For those who want to see Lara Fabian in a live concert soon , she will be in Bucarest Romania at the "Unforgettable Festival" Sept. 13/15 2024. She will be performing Saturday 14th, alone and on duet with other artists. I guess I'll be there 😊
Her best concert of all her great concerts ❤ I have seen a lot concerts in my life but this one is so special- I have never seen something like this before and afterwards.
Richard, Johnny and Eric - thank you so much for this lovely gift of sharing this concert with us. ❤ I hadn’t seen a couple of these performances and it was a joy discovering them with you. Feel better soon, Richard! See you tomorrow for Dimash! ❤
I have only recently become aware of Lara, through Dimash, and I am already a huge fan. I rarely even look at the subtitles because she weaves the story no matter what language she is singing in. I watched your reaction to Je Suis Malade, and you had the same reaction that I did when I first saw her. She is absolutely fabulous and you two aren't bad either. 😂😂😂😂😂💖💞X
Hi guys from Canada. I rank this concert (which I have now seen about a baker's dozen times) with From Lara With Love. Now you have to re-apply your expertise and enthusiasm to Lara's Pure, Un Regard 9 and 1/15/2012 Showcase concerts (the last of which can only be seen a song-or-two at a time because there is no overall full concert video. It has the most heart-wrenching version of Pas-sans-toi - Not Without You). Trust me....the 66 year old Lara superfan from Toronto.
Great comments as always ! "Comme ils disent" was written by Charles Aznavour. He made an english version called "What makes a man" findable on YT, you'll see the differences in translation between Fr/Eng. For the duet with Johnny, just EPIC ! And if that can seem a bit over acted don(t forget they were in a stadium with 80 000 pers.
I am glad you were able to upload this reaction so I could finish watching it. Did anyone else have problems with the volume of the piano being too loud? I had to quit watching because it gave me a headache and at times it was hard to hear Lara singing. I used my cheap phone to finish watching it. Hope you get better soon Richard and Johnny the next time you bring popcorn you have to bring enough for everyone. Keep these reactions coming.
Je Suis Malade.........SO raw, SO intimate, SO different from previous versions by Lara........I've always felt this composition begs for a completely a capella performance.......thanks for reacting ! .......
Gracias chicos.
This is my first time with this artis and she is amazing. Until now, I just knew to Barbara Pravi, another incredible french singer. Please, react to her. Thanks for to let us to know theese great voices.

Many other top vocalists from the current generation covered her songs, some have Lara as a role model and big inspiration (singers from every region in the world: from China and Taiwan, to Philippines, Indonesia, Russia, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Netherlands, Greece, Israel, Lebanon, Italy, France, Belgium, Norway, UK, USA, Canada, Brazil, Australia, Central Africa, …) ○ Floor Jansen (Adagio), ○ Polina Gagarina (Adagio, Je t’aime), ○ Diana Ankudinova (Tomorrow is a lie), ○ Morissette Amon (Broken Vow), ○ Gabriel Henrique (Love by Grace), ○ Cakra Khan (Broken Vow), ○ Charice Penpengco (Adagio), ○ Katrina Velarde (Broken Vow), ○ Regine Velasquez (Broken Vow), ○ Dmitri Hvorostovsky (Adagio), ○ Giulia Falcone (Adagio, Caruso, Je suis malade, Je t'aime), ○ Forestella (Je suis Malade), ○ Almira (from 4th Impact band) (Broken Vow), ○ Gigi de Lana (Broken Vow) ○ Julie Anne san Jose (Adagio, Broken Vow), ○ Rimar ( Adagio, Broken Vow, Know), ○ Il Divo (Adagio) ○ Daria Bentsa (I guess I loved you), ○ Sarah Geronimo (Broken Vow) ○ Laura Bretan ( Adagio, Caruso), ○ Jackie Evancho (Je t’aime, Caruso and Broken Vow, BV rewritten as « Imaginer » by Lara for Jackie), ○ Harrison Craig (Broken Vow), ○ Amir (Je t’aime), ○ Pauline Aguirre (Adagio)), ○ George Peris (Broken Vow, Humana), ○ Vitas (Adagio), ○ Wanessa Camargo (Love by Grace), ○ Anastasia Luna (Adagio), ○ Jeck (Je T’Aime), ○ Evgenia Fanfara (Adagio), ○ Anne Sila (pas sans toi, Tu es mon autre), ○ The Canadian Tenors (Adagio), ○ Anna Eriksson (Je suis malade), ○ Choi Sung Hoon (Je suis malade), ○ Soprano Turetsky band (Adagio), ○ Sarah Naura Irbah (Mademoiselle Hyde), ○ Elisabetta Rinaldi (Adagio), ○ Alyona Yarushina (Adagio), ○ Marie Payet (Pas sans toi), ○ Laurh (Immortelle), ○ Inger Lise Hope (Adagio), ○ Håkon Sønsterud Tollefsrød (Broken Vow), ○ Flora Tandi (Bambina), ○ Cindy Chao (Yeliel My Angel), ○ Majda Roumi (Adagio), ○ Abraham Mateo (Adagio), ○ Petra Berger (Adagio, Broken Vow), ○ Russel Watson (Adagio), ○ Katerina Maslova (Je t’aime, I guess I loved you) ○ Annointed (Love by Grace), ○ Sevara Nazarkhan (Je t’aime) ○ .... NB: Lara did cover Caruso , Je suis malade, and Love by grace, these are not her originals, but I mention these here as the related artists were attracted to cover it again after listening to Lara’s version. Today, Lara still has an amazing voice and tone and can still reach the 5th octave with resonance ; she still offers these emotive renditions that are her unique signature. In June 2022, she kicked off a WW tour and stunned her fans once again with 5 magical concerts in Canada. She completed the europe part in September/October 2022 and I attended a concert from this tour. It was packed and she was again spectacular. On April, May, June 2023 she had again some wonderful concerts in Tbilissi, Georgia, then in Ouzbekhistan, Kazakhstan, Romania. She is about to release a new album and just completed another popular tour in eastern europe (Czech Republic, Moldavia, Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkiye, Hungary) and in Canada in april-june 2024. She also appeared as a guest in some big events such as Hauser’s concert in Royal Albert Hall (May 9th 2024). Then, after some rest and a few TV Shows, she will tour France in 2025. The first song of her new album (titled "Ta Peine" - Your Sorrow) was released late January 2024 and is a success in France. Her album is expected to be released in fall 2024. Sorry if I was long, but I hope this gives some context on Lara.
Maurane is one of my very favorite singers, she is also an incredible talent. You really should take the time to listen to her some times. "Sur le prelude de Bach" is beautiful. Lara usually introduces her on stage as her favorite singer and the "most beautiful voice in the world".
Its nice to see people finally discovering Lara Fabian. I remember when she was here in the US then Canada back in the 90s trying to make her mark here against other female greats like Celine Dion and Shania Twain then disappearing from the U.S. circuit until I found her again in 2010 when I heard Je Suis Malade, Adagio, and Caruso.
Thanks a for yesterday afternoon with Lara. Was just great. Regarding Starmania, I think there is an English version on but the french one is definitely better. Also, I understand that Dimash has song "SOS d'un terrien en détresse" after listening to version of Grégory Lemarchal. Grégory is a young man (who passed away unfortunely very young) who did partcipated and won the "Star
Thank you so much Richard and Johnny for your reaction on our Queen Madam Lara Fabian .
(40.47) ...Lara made "Caruso" her own song even if it's a cover from 1986 from Lucio Dalla an italian, amazing songwriter. Eric is so right here.. A lot of famous artists did a cover of it.. Like Luciano Pavarotti, Andrea Bocelli and even Celine Dion (by the way Celine Dion's version with Florent Pagny is really mediocre... No dynamics, bad italian pronunciation and plain tone.. And she did it after Lara (2007).. She probably didn't watch Lara' s version and she thought she could have been doing it just better 😮) Lara really made this song her own song even if she didn't write it.. And her Italian is just perfect, even the few words of Napoletano 's dialect that she uses..( "Surriento" = Sorrento and "Te vojo bene assai, ma tanto tanto bene sai" ... = ti voglio tanto bene... "Che scioglie il sangue dinto' e vene sai" = che scioglie il sangue nelle vene sai ). Queen of interpretation ❤

Merci encore.
mauranne nous manque a tous

Wow I have been waiting for a "Calling You" reaction from more people. Thank you!
Such an epic reaction to an epic concert! Lara is a 👸🏼.
Respect ❤❤❤❤❤ from Romania❤❤❤Diva Lara ❤❤❤
Thank you so much for that live. I very much enjoy your natural and easygoing way to deliver your reactions.
So, according to me you are a Lara's official fan. 😂
Thank you for reacting to this concert. Imo it's peak artistry and everything is just perfect: from her vocals, arrangement of the songs to musicians, staging, lighting ...Lara is a gem and powerhouse of emotions. Once again thank you❤
I love this live so much!
Lara is my favorite voice in the world, even when she speaks ou just breathes 😅❤❤❤
A huge thank you from BRAZIL 🇧🇷
Muito obrigado!
Ela e uma maravilha com certeza 😊
I loved the woman in her 30 year with her intensity and her vocal performances.
I loved the 40 year old with her willingness to discover many different musical styles, always with a fabulous voice.
And I love the woman in her 50s who has managed to preserve her voice through hard work, adapting to the evolution of her voice while retaining that little bit of enthusiasm and complicity that makes us melt.
I will love you forever and ever
Even if you start rap
Love Lara ❤
Love from Denmark ❤
It was a great live, I learned a lot and discovered some Lara songs that I had not heard so far. I got goosebumps several times during your live reaction. Such a great performer, singer and storyteller she is, a truly complete artist, definitelly. See you soon again 👋
Magnificent reaction to this legendary concert by the incomparable artist Lara Fabian
Great trio with Eric.. 😂Good job..
First heard of lara fabian when she sang “broken vow” many, many years ago..OST of F4 Boys Over Flower..and she didn’t seem to age.❤️
Thank you all three, it was fabulous. Lara is breathtakingly emotional!
She opened a part of my heart that was sleeping in my chest. Each of their songs moves me and tears roll down my cheeks. I love you and your beautiful voice. ❤❤😢
You must see Lara at Moscow Madame Zhivago concert , just perfect
This has been great. Thank you!
This whole concert is one of the best and most artistic performances in history...by anyone! Pure genius and magic.
Thank you very much for this wonderful moment you shared with us 🙏, I was lucky to see this concert, surely one of the most beautiful I have seen in my life. Imagine being in the third row and seeing Lara come in a nightie and sing La Traviata, my god. This concert follows a period when Lara was very criticized, She says it herself "I sing too loud I'm too much...", by this concert she closed the beak to a lot of people, and that's her strength she is what and how to stay herself, for our greatest pleasure 😊
Et grand merci à Eric 👍
Thanks for sharing the great info. Just one correction: after the first English album, she recorded "Nue" in French, not "Intime"
@@sinceritysf Yeah. You're right. I misunderstood the name of the album. Intime it's a making of dvd she released. 🤩
Art is the property of the artist. The audience can appreciate it, or not. Criticizing it is both pointless and arrogant.
I saw this show and you can hear flies flying
Best voice ❤
Thank you for such an enjoyable reaction as always! Much love! ❤
P.S. Thank you, Eric!
AMAZING SHOW
Thank you for this magical moment
Lara delivers an incredible emotion in this unforgettable concert
Thanks for reacting to this wonderful concert. It is my favourite together with her tour 9. It is not just her voice and performance. She has beautiful songs.
Great Job, as always!!! 👍👏❤️🇨🇦
That was fantastic guys and thank you Eric.
One day you can do her concert she did in Russia with Igor Krutoy,
Some of the songs in her performances with Krutoy, unfortunately, are lip-synced "Llora" being one of the more notable among a number that are faked.
Beyond beautiful but can we also give a big complement to the pianist !!
Yes!! His name is Pierre Grimard.
He was also the music director of the show.
For those who want to see Lara Fabian in a live concert soon , she will be in Bucarest Romania at the "Unforgettable Festival"
Sept. 13/15 2024.
She will be performing Saturday 14th, alone and on duet with other artists.
I guess I'll be there 😊
I'll be in Paris, December 2025. Can't wait.
@@mkevincop me too.. Already got the ticket since last April... Also because they are not too many left😊
AWESOME reaction as usual!!!
Her best concert of all her great concerts ❤ I have seen a lot concerts in my life but this one is so special- I have never seen something like this before and afterwards.
Thank you for this beautiful concert. Greeting from Belgium.
Magnificent . Lara just did an interview in English where she really demonstrates why she is hypersensitive .THANKS
Any chance you know how I can find this interview? Plz? 😊
Richard, Johnny and Eric - thank you so much for this lovely gift of sharing this concert with us. ❤ I hadn’t seen a couple of these performances and it was a joy discovering them with you. Feel better soon, Richard! See you tomorrow for Dimash! ❤
One of her best live for sure.. She really captivates her pubblic... She gets you deeply in your soul... Queen ❤
Lara...has the most powerfull and sensitive voice on this planet.
'..heart- _rending_ ..' *guts* _'wrench'_
Best concert Ever❤
French is the most beautiful language in the world
Lara is a director of the Star Académie in Quebec. You have to see her MasterClass
Great comments as always ! "Comme ils disent" was written by Charles Aznavour. He made an english version called "What makes a man" findable on YT, you'll see the differences in translation between Fr/Eng. For the duet with Johnny, just EPIC ! And if that can seem a bit over acted don(t forget they were in a stadium with 80 000 pers.
thank you so much for this❤
Did you see ... there's no mic in her hands on the acapella part of Je suis malade ?
There is but she keeps it at her waste to have the more dramatic effect

Queen 👸🏼
I love Barbara and already sponsored some reaction to her (bravo, voila, …).
You should also check Pomme, another amazing french talent.
Now if you want to know more about Lara, how she has become one of the most influential vocalist globally, here are some details:
Lara is recognized as one of the best vocalist ever seen on earth and all professionals list her in the top vocalist tier with Barbra, Whitney, Mariah, Celine, Aretha, Shirley Bassey, Lisa Fischer, ....
In my personal opinion, she is even the best.
There are a few vocal characteristics that are her signature: her famous resonance for instance that allows her to sing acapella without mic in venues with 10,000+ attendees. Her nickname in the singing world is "the ring" due to this. I would also list her amazing phrasing, breath management and her pleasant tone even when belting in her upper register.
So she is one of the best vocalist ever, but on top of that, she adds a few things that make her an absolute package with no equivalence:
• she speaks 2 languages natively (french, italian), and 2 others fluently (english, spanish), can speak a bit of dutch (and sicilian), and understand quite well russian and portuguese. She has sung in 12 languages in total
• she is an amazing songwriter and wrote lyrics for 200+ songs, in the 4 languages she speaks fluently. She often co-composes the music, and is at the source of the melodic line.
• she acts and performs on stage as nobody else, she colors and reveals the meaning of every single word in the songs, and her ability to emote, to draw you in is second to none
• she is the sweetest soul on earth, very humble, down to earth and benevolent. She likes to meet others, and her fans are always pleasantly surprised when this happens.
A quick background on her and her career:
She is belgian, her father is flemish and grand mother on father side is dutch, but she also has italian roots (her mother is from sicilia) and American roots ( the father of her mother is from Detroit). She had been raised in Sicilia first for 7 years then in Belgium so she speaks both italian and french as native languages.
She has been classically trained on vocal, piano and songs composition for 10 years ( from 8 to 18) in the Brussels Royal Conservatory.
She is still having vocal lessons and training several times a week today. She only moved away from opera to pop because she is first and foremost a songwriter.
After her Eurovision participation in 1988 (4th), she really started her career in Canada in the early 90s, more precisely in Quebec, the french-speaking part of Canada.
She had been living for years in Montreal and has also Canadian citizenship. She moved to Sicilia end of 2022.
She became very famous in Quebec in the early 90s with several double platine records and then conquered France in 1996/1997 (she topped charts there and some of her songs such as "Je t'aime" or "Tout" became classics of the french music).
In 2000, she was about to penetrate the US Market, with a lot of media initial interest. Her first english song (I will love again), a pop dance song, stayed number one on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart for 58 weeks in a row and was number 32 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Her Album ("Lara Fabian") was about to become a massive hit, and the concert "From Lara With Love" was recorded to be broadcasted everywhere in the US.
This concert is legendary, packed with masterpieces (covered by many great vocalists later on).
But a dispute with Sony on artistry directions, and the will from Celine Dion's staff to block her progress in the US, completely broke this plan.
She thus refocused back on Europe and made huge success there, extending her reach to Eastern Europe and Central Asia where she became an absolute superstar through her collaboration with Igor Krutoy during several years. She is absolutely massive in Russia for instance.
She is also a star in Brazil as her song "Love By Grace", used as the soundtrack for a very famous soap opera, topped the charts for months and become a recurrent in the local singing contests since then.
Many of her songs became classics and were covered by the other singing legends: Barbra Streisand, Shirley Bassey, Josh Groban (they are friends and he told she is a role model for him), Linda Eder, …
With her success in Europe, Brazil and part of Asia, she is the inspiration of the new generation of vocalists: most of them are coming from there.
Thru their covers of Lara Fabian songs, USA and many other countries are now rediscovering her.
She is Dimash's idol:
• I’ve read somewhere that, when he was a child, he was listening her songs every night to get asleep.
• He covered many of her songs, most of these were composed by Igor Krutoy and written by by Lara.
Out of my mind I can list:
○ Adagio (She wrote it and is the original performer),
○ Mademoiselle Hyde (she wrote it and is the original performer),
○ Love of Tired Swans (she wrote the song in French under the title "Je t'aime encore" and was the original performer of the french then the russian versions, Dimash covered the russian version)
○ Ascolta La Voce / Vocalize (this was a pure vocalization and she was the original performer, then lyrics were added for Dimash and it was rebranded as "Know")
• She also wrote the lyrics of Dimash's song "Your Love".
• And she covered "Love is like a dream" before him (song from Igor Krutoy originally performed by Alla Pugacheva).
• Finally, they also performed "Ti Amo Cosi" together, in trio with Aida Garafulina: this is a song that she performed originally with Dmitri Hvorostovsky and Sumi Jo then again later with Dmitri and Alina Yarovaya, before this new trio with Dimash and Aida.
Dimash is now also working with Igor Krutoy: Igor and Dimash connected after his Adagio cover, also endorsed by Lara.
Igor came back from retirement and composed severals songs for him after it.
Many other top vocalists from the current generation covered her songs, some have Lara as a role model and big inspiration (singers from every region in the world: from China and Taiwan, to Philippines, Indonesia, Russia, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Netherlands, Greece, Israel, Lebanon, Italy, France, Belgium, Norway, UK, USA, Canada, Brazil, Australia, Central Africa, …)

Lara is amazing ❤❤
I needed it so very much today. Thanks. Merci beaucoup !
hI FROM mONTREAL !
Yes! Yes! Celine was more nasal 😊that is why i love Lara more ( sorry😢) my fav from Celine & Lara is Lara for all my life❤
Thanks a for yesterday afternoon with Lara.
The english version is titled Tycoon but yes the french original is way better.
Thank you so much Richard and Johnny for your reaction on our Queen Madam Lara Fabian .

Love Lara
Love from Hong Kong❤❤❤21-07-2024
Lara is born in Belgium from a belgian father and an italian mother. She learned music in belgium and not in France.
Magnifique :)
She probably didn't watch Lara' s version and she thought she could have been doing it just better 😮)
Lara really made this song her own song even if she didn't write it.. And her Italian is just perfect, even the few words of Napoletano 's dialect that she uses..( "Surriento" = Sorrento and "Te vojo bene assai, ma tanto tanto bene sai" ... = ti voglio tanto bene... "Che scioglie il sangue dinto' e vene sai" = che scioglie il sangue nelle vene sai ).
Queen of interpretation ❤
You're so right. I looked at the version with Dion and Pagny and the two really managed to sing this song completely emotionless, very bad😕
The guitarist Eric mentioned plays the guitar during the credits where Bambina is repeated.
I knew I saw him for ETI, lol, thanks Bernadette 👍
@@ericsicard910Thank you Eric. I’m watching the ETI reaction again today. The playlist in this concert is outstanding.
Please react to "Quedate" a song in spanish
