  • Catching carp at close quarters is the most heart stopping form of angling and can be used to single out large, individual fish. The thrill of watching a carp take your bait, before bolting away and the rod coming alive is something that is hard to beat!
In this instalment of TA|Insights, we join Steve Renyard on Junction 12 Lake, in the height of summer. The carp clearly love the hot weather and soon find their way into the margins, leading to some explosive action! Of course, being close to the bank, in a few feet of water, Steve had to adapt his tactics to suit, in order to trip up the wary, deep-bodied, scaly carp the lake is famous for.

Refreshing to see an angler that's still using the same rigs and that baiting stringer that I was reading about years ago and still destroying places on it

Hello, I am a new subscriber from Iraq. I wish you good luck. I liked your beautiful videos about fishing. I am also a fan of fishing, and I don’t have very good fishing equipment.

Amazing and insightful film to watch. As they say, find the fish…. Fish well and fish with confidence! A rig that have caught you fish and know that will catch you more fish….stick to the bait that them fish love and employ those tactics well tested and proven through the years. Simple yet devastating….amazing and top angling. P.S. Has anyone noticed the 2 big ones? Surely brothers or even sisters…..both beautiful mirrors, nearly same weight( difference of maybe 0.2 lbs),nearly same shaped big belly and nearly same lovely big scale around dorsal fin area…..yet clearly 2 different mirrors as the last one seem to have a much larger pecs and massive paddle of a tail and 2 big apple slices of scales in the tummy. Top class angling again Mr Steve R.
