What makes me love GFRIEND is that that they are not a type of a cute girl group. They are not selling a boring and cutesy songs and acting childlish on stage while perfoming. Thanks to these powerful choreographies and quick tempo songs GFRIEND are not boring and you doesnt have enough to listen and watch them. Even tho that they are not popular becouse of their visuals(personally I found them very pretty but oh) they are still on top in South Korea while most of us now how its hard to gain attention from Koreans these days. I'm very proud of GFRIEND that they could achieve so many awards and recognation coming from so unknown company. :)

Navillera is my all time favourite Gfriend song and it's one of my most favourite k-pop songs. Like literally everything about this is perfect. SourceMusic nailed it about cinematography and dance. Lyrics are not that deep but they're so cute and warm. The song is full of details and it makes me feel like it's 30 second

Yes this does sound kinda like Rough or Me Gustas Tu, this does have the vibe but that's what make GFRIEND. This is their signature sound after all, at least they changed their concept now and not school girls anymore. They are slowly stepping out of their box, very slowly. Personally I think this is a pretty good plan since GFRIEND is still a young rookie. Powerful Innocence what they are known for. You don't expect them to change their concept drastically. People that are saying them to change their concept, what concept now? A total opposite, badass concept? They will flop if they do that. GFRIEND is still solidifying their place in the K-Pop industry. They have to mark their territory first. And those are saying that this is similar to Rough, sure it has the vibe, but having the vibe doesn't mean it's the same, it's similar but more upbeat. That's a change. Me Gustas Tu? This ain't cutesy and colorful like MGT. Look at SNSD or Apink or even Lovelyz from their first two years.

It's just that I guess SouMu just want them to establish their "GFRIEND Sound" that people will get to know them first before they experience something new and give more excitement. And as for a group that always get criticize for "copying" like GFRIEND, it's a pretty smart idea since this has become their sound and now they are only copying old "GFRIEND". They are still maturing so I'm sure that one day they will be walking straight across and out of their "GFRIEND box" and matured into a versatile group. As of now, many people still need to know them and once they hear a song like this, they will immediately think of GFRIEND (at least for a faction number of people). So it's a an achievement and you can see in this song that they are changing ever so slightly starting with the concept. That's why I always follow no matter what to see their transformation. They're really an impressive group. Hm, actually their company is impressive. The management for these girls is no joke. They were so well trained, the group itself was so well planned from the start! They have something that almost no group in k-pop has, not even SNSD (and I'm not thrashing them, I love them), which is: identity. Groups usually jump from concept to concept or are only cute or only sexy. Gfriend is neither, they have a theme rather than a concept. We know who they are. You can see, even tho they don't have a member that stands out in looks (at least for koreans, i, personall, find them pretty, but whatever) which seems to be so important for idols groups, they still managed to be at the top, simply because their songs are so good they're able to deliver it. Even the members who are vocally weak - and you can see - are in pitch and sound really good, not Mamamoo level, but still above the majority of the weaker singers in other groups, at least in stability. Tone alone there's nothing special, but that's what is interesting about these girls. Aside from Yuju, maybe, they're nothing special. They're the product of hard work and determination and it's so inspirational.

Gfriend did not come from a big company, but they produce one of the best and most unique music KPOP has to offer. I love how the Korean lyrics sound and everything they give is incredibly high quality. I'm looking forward to how they progress into more mature music and you can simply tell their progress through Yerin's different looks on the thumbnail m/vs. I think Gfriend can get many awards at the end of this year with their next release.
You are right about everything up until the last sentence. They may be popular in Korea but Twice, Blackpink and Red Velvet are the ones who will sweep the awards for the girl group category because their fanbases are massive both domestically and internationally. The most GFRIEND can win is probably only the dance category. Others are strictly off-limits frankly speaking.

What makes me love GFRIEND is that that they are not a type of a cute girl group. They are not selling a boring and cutesy songs and acting childlish on stage while perfoming. Thanks to these powerful choreographies and quick tempo songs GFRIEND are not boring and you doesnt have enough to listen and watch them. Even tho that they are not popular becouse of their visuals(personally I found them very pretty but oh) they are still on top in South Korea while most of us now how its hard to gain attention from Koreans these days. I'm very proud of GFRIEND that they could achieve so many awards and recognation coming from so unknown company. :)

Yes this does sound kinda like Rough or Me Gustas Tu, this does have the vibe but that's what make GFRIEND. This is their signature sound after all, at least they changed their concept now and not school girls anymore. They are slowly stepping out of their box, very slowly. Personally I think this is a pretty good plan since GFRIEND is still a young rookie. Powerful Innocence what they are known for. You don't expect them to change their concept drastically. People that are saying them to change their concept, what concept now? A total opposite, badass concept? They will flop if they do that. GFRIEND is still solidifying their place in the K-Pop industry. They have to mark their territory first. And those are saying that this is similar to Rough, sure it has the vibe, but having the vibe doesn't mean it's the same, it's similar but more upbeat. That's a change. Me Gustas Tu? This ain't cutesy and colorful like MGT. Look at SNSD or Apink or even Lovelyz from their first two years.

They're really an impressive group. Hm, actually their company is impressive. The management for these girls is no joke. They were so well trained, the group itself was so well planned from the start! They have something that almost no group in k-pop has, not even SNSD (and I'm not thrashing them, I love them), which is: identity. Groups usually jump from concept to concept or are only cute or only sexy. Gfriend is neither, they have a theme rather than a concept. We know who they are. You can see, even tho they don't have a member that stands out in looks (at least for koreans, i, personall, find them pretty, but whatever) which seems to be so important for idols groups, they still managed to be at the top, simply because their songs are so good they're able to deliver it. Even the members who are vocally weak - and you can see - are in pitch and sound really good, not Mamamoo level, but still above the majority of the weaker singers in other groups, at least in stability. Tone alone there's nothing special, but that's what is interesting about these girls. Aside from Yuju, maybe, they're nothing special. They're the product of hard work and determination and it's so inspirational.
Preach and yeah their company is small but can turn a group into u know like famous girl group. Pretty daebak hahaha

Gfriend did not come from a big company, but they produce one of the best and most unique music KPOP has to offer. I love how the Korean lyrics sound and everything they give is incredibly high quality. I'm looking forward to how they progress into more mature music and you can simply tell their progress through Yerin's different looks on the thumbnail m/vs. I think Gfriend can get many awards at the end of this year with their next release.
You are right about everything up until the last sentence. They may be popular in Korea but Twice, Blackpink and Red Velvet are the ones who will sweep the awards for the girl group category because their fanbases are massive both domestically and internationally.
