I love that you and Henry did these videos together. Henry is such a wonderful human being and photographer. You and he have different approaches to producing images with both producing some wonderful results. I would love to see more videos with you and Henry.
Nice! Henry is the "Energizer Bunny' of landscape photographers. Reminds me of the late "Crocodile Hunter" Steve Irwin. Lots of enthusiasm. Nice of the hoar frost to show up when you needed it most. Carry on. 👍🥂 Merry Christmas! 🎄🎅🏾
Great to see you and Henry together, both of you have inspired me to come out of my comfort zone into a world I didn't have the confidence to try. Have a great Christmas
Lads day out having a fantastic time, thats what its about at the end of the day. What a bonus to see Henry, bet you were worn out at the end of the day as Henry usually likes to get a "wobble on" when he is on a mission.
Excellent outing! Happy to see you team up with Henry! Your videos are night and day different but I regularly enjoy both! Thanks for taking me along!!!
So enjoy your videos and it was delightful to see you out with Henry (who I also follow). Thank you for all your adventures. Look forward to many more. May you have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. xxx
I love to see collaboration with other photographers. To see such different styles from each of you is so beneficial to helping amateurs like me to learn . Love all of your work and find it truly inspirational. Great to see Henry too . He is a gentleman. Happy christmas to you and your family.
There were so many beautiful images it would be hard to point out my favorite. The frost really did make the difference. I look forward to watching Henry's story. Cheers from the States.
Nice to see you and Henry meet up Nigel given your respective affinity to the Lake District and loved the image you elected to print. Have a great Christmas and thank you for sharing your adventures over the past year, it really has been a pleasure
Thank you for another wonderful video. I really appreciate how you and Henry shared with us the reality that photography can be hard. It’s not just an endless series of successful shots in any conditions. It takes work. Seeing how you both struggled lets us amateurs realize that we’re not alone and that it’s important to keep looking for possibilities. So important!
It was great to see you and Henry (who i olso follow) out together. Great conditions but difficult to photograph. As usual yourself and Henry managed to get some really nice image's. Wishing you and your family a very Happy Christmas. Look forward to the next one.
Thank you for doing this video. It is priceless to hear a great photographer like you talk through the thought process, the frustrations, and the thrill of finding and making a great photo.
Nigel, thanks for all the great work and teaching and books you have done this year. I look forward each Sunday to this. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and Henry and your families!
Hi Nigel! Wishing you Seasons Greetings from Wakefield, Quebec in Canada. Always such a learning experience to follow you as you decide on your next shot. Appreciate hearing about your thinking behind the capture. Nice to hear Henry and you in discussion. Thanks, you two are the best. Cheers!
Nigel, your enthusiasm and excitement for photography are contagious! It makes me want to get out and explore with my camera no matter what the conditions are. Thanks for sharing! Merry Christmas 🎄
Nigel and Henry, what a double act. Two of the top photographers together, who could ask for more. You'll need to do this again Nigel it just works. 👍😎
A super partnership Nigel and as always a great video and inspirational landscape tutorial for us all. Loved the quick transition from landscape to wildlife shots. Have an amazing Christmas with the family and thank you for all your amazing efforts. Well Done

Wonderful video, thank you. As Henry would say: Get out, it always pays. Oh! And thanks to your Luskentyre book, I really enjoy it :)
Good to see you both out together again, love the Silver Birch image that you printed and the adorable Robin images 👌amazing how close they will come to you
Great video as always Nigel. Also watching 2 of my favourite photographers working together was really nice to see. Have a great Christmas and New year. 😊
Some more great advice for me when I struggle to find something locally. I struggle particularly with nothing in the foreground. Merry Christmas Nigel!
So glad you guys made it out. Always enjoy seeing what you get. Years ago when I was still shooting film, I went to Craters of The Moon in Idaho and shot some fantastic scenes in direct light. It didn't work. Side lighting really captures the textures doesn't it. (Nice to see you branching out again into wildlife :-) )
Merry Christmas and greetings from the Northwest Territories in Canada, above the Arctic Circle. Spectacular drone footage, great say out with a crazy upbeat landscape photographer. I've been subscribed to his channel for several years. I was out shooting mainly frost trees and bush stems when I went to the post office last week. It's or month of no sunrise, so we just get blue hour or a bit of burnt orange or golden hour light bouncing of the frost and snow.
I look forward to your videos and really enjoy them and learn a lot from you. Your photos are amazing. I'm going to check out Henry's page. Seasons Greetings from the U.S.
Great video, rather have those conditions than what we’ve got now! I know that area well but Can’t believe I’ve never been up Holme fell🤔, will have to remedy that. Happy Christmas to both of you.
Some random thoughts: Did you give Henry back his battery? :^) I'm really envious of your very long sunsets. Here in Arizona the Sun drops like a lead weight. Having lived in Minnesota most of my life those sunset shots really brings back the memories (well kept because they were frozen.....). Morton Hillmer would be proud of your Robin shots. I would certainly encourage you to do more bird shots. I can't recall if you have the 100-400 lens. If not - I think that is one lens that deserves your consideration.
This might sound really crazy, but when it's blue sky which where I live is a lot because I live in Australia I go with black-and-white. Much easier to do black-and-white Photography when you've got lots of light because you can create some nice dynamic range and some contrast as well but definitely I go black-and-white every time even if I do an image or overexposed it slightly I'll go with black-and-white for the edit because you can fix it
What would you do with completely grey days? Basically, everything is covered in snow and the sun is behind a 100% cloud coverage most of the month, so you get the flat boring light from sunrise to sunset and all you get is naturally monochrome pictures.. 😅
I don't find photography hard, I think finding the time to go out is harder. Also, blue sky's don't bother me like it clearly does with most photographers. I find it kind of funny.
great to see you guys out and about together despite Henry's preference to being on his own lol He does neeed company sometimes haha Just upgraded to the Z8 Nigel as I loved the D850 I had for a short time before my Z7 then Z7 ii What an upgrade to the D850! Loving it though only had it a couple of weeks. Trying to work out different settings for Action v Landscape through the use of the banks I use 64GB QCD cards; which SD/SDXC cards do you use? Cheers, Cenwyn

Thanks for a great morning mate and great photos all things considered! 👍🏼

Thanks for the vlog. It’s great to see such adventure and challenges met. Merry Christmas to you. May the coming year fulfill your dreams.
You captured some splendid images. Thanks for sharing the capture details. May you have a wonderful holiday season.
What an adorable little bird! I can never get that close...
Stunning drone work Nigel. Love the Robin shot! Merry Christmas !
Merry Christmas to you and yours!

You got a visit from the blue bird of happiness. How cool was that.

very cool to see a collaboration like this ... :)
Great video. I don’t feel so bad now about occasionally forgetting to pack a spare battery.
2 wonderful photographers Merry Christmas

Happy Holidays Nigel! How's your back? It seems all is finally healed and better than ever! All the best from Poland!
Whilst it's always good to make a great image from a day out, a very important part of the journey is to have fun and enjoy the experience.
Brilliant images?advice as usual, Thanks. May I wish you and family a Very Happy Xmas and Happy New Year. Not forgretting "Pebbles"!
Merry Christmas 🎄 🎅
Cheers from okanagan valley british columbia 🇨🇦
Nice video. I like these This-is-hard-I-am-struggeling-videos so much more than the This-is-amazing-conditions-videos because I lern so much more.

Not crazy at all. Use the polarizer to darken the sky and you can get great B&W images.
What would you do with completely grey days? Basically, everything is covered in snow and the sun is behind a 100% cloud coverage most of the month, so you get the flat boring light from sunrise to sunset and all you get is naturally monochrome pictures.. 😅
So funny, English Robins are very different than American Robins.,.. Some great shots. Looked to be a great day to be out.
I can see that 10:16 into the video, you managet to zoom to 200mm with a 24-120mm lens. I do no believe that the Z8 had a crop factor 😅
I don't find photography hard, I think finding the time to go out is harder. Also, blue sky's don't bother me like it clearly does with most photographers. I find it kind of funny.
С наступающим Новым годом и привет из России 🇷🇺 🤝
The tree was shot at 150mm 1/13s F7.1 ISO64, but using 24-120mm F4 lens?
Sporadic snow on the floor is never easy. Very bitty results usually.
Great video Nigel, but I have 1 question: how did you do this?😉 - Nikon Z8 l 24-120MM F4
150MM l 1/13S l F7.1 l ISO64
great to see you guys out and about together despite Henry's preference to being on his own lol He does neeed company sometimes haha

Good morning from Israel
Looks like a long lens day to me.
Merry Christmas 😊 Question… one of your hoar frost images has a focal length of 200mm on a 24-120 lens?
Must have used the wrong template. He said he was carrying the little 24-200mm during the video. :)
@@scarcesense6449plus Henry uses the 24-200 so he could have borrowed his in a pinch
What is connected to your hotshoe on top of the camera (when shooting the frosty scenes)
The robin image is very Christmasy.
