- This is the Unboxing and full review of the Unagi E500 also known as "The Model One". Hey, does anyone see the "T" shape black plastic on the handlebar resemble the "Tesla" logo?
It is a breath-taking scooter from the design point of view and on paper it seems right too:
*Dual 250W Motor
*500W power
*1000W peak
*Aluminium and carbon fiber components
*IP 54 Water resistent
*25km/h top speed
*Max 25km range
The fresh, clean and unique design of the handlebar is in my opinion the key element of this scooter. I really enjoy looking at it and it is a very nice piece of technology.
In this video I will be unboxing this amazing scooter, take you on a tour of how it looks fresh out of the box, test the standard speeds, unlock the top speed (easy mod) and take it for a spin.
By the way, this is my first video in my new studio, created especially to make videos like this, for you guys. Hope you guys like it and let me know what you think. Also, my "assistant", Frank is the "critic eye" starting with this video.
Now, back to the video. The things I don't like about the scooter are actually two and big important aspects: range and ride quality.
When buying a scooter you need to get to and from your destination, so many manufacturers are going further and further with electric scooter's top range. We can see up to 90 km range, which can be a bit too much to hope for but a decent 30km should be ok. The Unagi that I have tested lasted me 9 short Km. I was not thrilled about this because my commute to work and back is around 11. So, in theory I couldn't go even to work on a full charge, which eliminated the Unagi instant from my list of potential owners.
Also, the ride quality because of the tires is poor, one of the bumpiest I tested. And no, I don't live on farms so I don't need to go off road, but for getting a proper test done for you guys to know what to expect, I felt uncomfortable.
One more thing I haven't really enjoyed about the Unagi was the lack of Application and Bluetooth. A lot can be done with an App, including Cruise Control, Regeneration for the breaking and so on. Also, with bluetooth you can turn on and off locking the scooter, a feature that the Unagi does not have, unfortunately.
So, I really like the Unagi, it is a great looking, sexy and futuristic scooter but it can leave some users unsatisfied because of the range situation and the riding quality.

Driven in both. Great in both areas. CA has more hills (at least where I am) so that slows it down sometimes
The range you reported is incorrect. It is much longer than that.
Will it suffice for a guy like me with 1km to my office? but also living 4 stories up at home.... and 1 story up at the office.
Been looking for some with removable batteries but the options is few, but the unagi seems quite light weight though?
Well, yeah & yeah. Unagi The One Model is one of the nicest scooter i have ever tested with few downsides, as reviewed. It is also very light so carrying it around should be no problem. 😉

@@Menalix You are welcome. 👍Most scooters have a protection for charging and riding. Segway Ninebot have a wide range of scooters that can be fitted with an extra battery for an extended range. Those, of course, have also the place to add that battery, while the Unagi doesn't. Also, modifying the scooter may void the warranty as you need to drill some holes to insert the cables to connect the battery. Moreover, the handlebar has a peculiar shape and the locking/unlocking mechanism is not one of the best I have tested. Adding more weight to it could change the scooter's handling. Now, haven’t tested this myself but I could only imagine adding an extra battery so don't take my word for it, i am just giving my opinion. 😉☺️
Because it's a bike to get people around, not to be all fancy and to go fast.It's just to get you around a city

Idk if I have the same model but mine is also unagi and my max speed was 33km but it’s cause I used dual motors and did the trick to unlock the max speed

@@williamcopp4438 ok, so first make sure you are on speed mode 3, if you want to check it’s the number below the battery bar on the screen, I forgot how to change it so just search it up.
Second, use dual motor mode, it activates by pressing the power button 2 times and it gives you more acceleration and torque.
Third is holding down acceleration and brake at the same time and pressing the power button 10 times. You will hear 2 beeps which means u will go 5 km faster
overall wait for Version 2 or 3?

Just got mine and it sucks!!!! I cannot unlock it as shown. When I fry to adjust speeds it moves at 4mph and that’s all. Tried it all and no luck. Guess it’s returning it.
That’s weird I just did it .. did you make sure it was on dual motor level 3 and then try to do the hack?

Your audio is annoying at best. Don't complain about this scooter. IT does EVERITHING it's designed for.👍👍✅☝️👽. You obviously didn't try for a hill ride.With duel motors it can easily climb 15% hills with good speed!..On rough surfaces it rattles your scelleton!!!⚠️⚠️👎👎
