I had lunch at the shokudo at 40:01 (with the car parked out front) in 2015 when I walked around Sagano area. I was the only customer, and there was just an old man working there who made the lunch. I had Kitsune Udon - it was cheap and delicious. He was curious why I was there but didn't speak a word of English, and my Japanese was very limited at the time, so we communicated through Google translate on his phone. Not much of deep talk, but still one of my fondest memories of Japan. Thanks for a beautiful video, takes me back. And Japan is beautiful in the rain.
Where I live is a nasty industrial town with no nice parks or even nice buildings, just squares and parking lots. I really appreciate these videos and gives me hope I can live in a beautiful place some day.
i absolutely hate it. laying here trying to passout, seconds away from falling asleep for the first time in days, then that thing comes out and i'm wide awake again, but now i'm in a bad mood
There is a Zen-Buddhism shrine on the opposite side of the river from the touristy area. It's called Daihikaku Senkoji Temple and it's my favorite place in all of Japan. After a pleasant 30 minute along the river bank you arrive at such a serene place. You sit down and look at the river and the mountains. And when it rains, everything is just perfect.
Rainy kyoto is so beautiful and calming, the rain sounds so beautiful and you took us to such serene places, thanks for the amazing escape and adventure as always. Love your videos! Also the little blower is so clever!
One of my big dreams was to visit beautiful Japan ... go with my travel easel and my painter's suitcase ... and portray moments of this beautiful and millenary country ... time passed ... then I knew that it had become a "impossible dream" ... but I never imagined that one day I would meet your beautiful channel, dear Rambalac, which in part gave life to that dream that I thought was extinct .... your perfect 360 ° frames that give us a finished sample all around from each place is like being right there, your beautiful cameras do the rest, they give us the perfect vivid sound and image effects ... thank you so much for this beautiful walk in the rain, your 360 ° in the holy park and the entire panorama with the beautiful mountains in the background ... that beautiful forest of bamboo ... these places that you show in Kyoto I never saw others show it and even less with so much detail ... Many thanks for sharing so much incomparable beauty of the beautiful and beloved Japan!!!
It's a gray rainy morning in NYC as I watch this. The rain outside matches the rain in the video very well. Almost feels like I am there. This is the perfect way to spend a calm rainy weekend morning.
thank you so much for sharing this, I haven't been able to leave my house in over a year now and getting these glimpses of relaxing outdoor walks really helps cheer me up 💜
We visited Kyoto almost two years ago and spent a day around Arashiyama area. The path was almost identical as in this video. Still remember the vending machines around 34:08 mark lol. I remember my wife and myself we were both hungry and most shops were closed. Then suddenly we saw this ramen shop Matsumoto, around 40:04 mark. The owner was a very kind old gentleman. Some google review said he was a baseball player before he retired and came here, opened up the restaurant. Anyways the food was really nice.. All good memories associated with this place. But just realised that on google map it says the restaurant is permanently closed.. With all this coronavirus thing I just wish the owner is safe and healthy.
( Thank you for the mug. I feel ridiculously smug every time I use it - no idea why, though ). If there is one video that feels like postcards have been thrown in our faces, then it is this video. I feel privileged to have had an opportunity to see this. There is nothing left to say beyond this: Japan stuns.
i visited japan several years ago and my trip to arashiyama was one of the most memorable aside from nara. thank you for giving me the chance to return even when travel isn't an option for me.
i know i’m two years late to this video but i’ve been using 1 specific video to fall asleep to for the past year (my mom was away for a couple months then) and it just comforted me to hear the voices and cars and rain and just being around people. i clicked this one tonight cause i was missing kyoto in particular today. it’s so beautiful !! i really love these videos especially since there’s character to them and they’re not just cut clips put together. thank you for making these, i don’t know what i’d do without them 🫶💫
Kyoto is one of the most beautiful places on earth. It is something else with a gentle rain. Thank you Rambalac for always giving us relaxing and wonderful walking videos of Japan.
I love it all. The architure (old and new) the landscaping, gardens, stonework etc. Most of all the people. And you bring it all to us time after time. Thank you so much. Blessings.
Hard to believe how quiet it is there without all the foreign tourists. However, it's a great opportunity to wander around peacefully with fewer crowds. Thanks for the wonderful video.
After seeing the devastation happening in my country due to covid, it was quite relieving to watch you walk in rainy Kyoto. I will definitely visit this place once in my life. Love from India.
Thank you so much for these videos. I loved the atmosphere at the beginning of the video so much, with the small food and snack shops in these awesome clean streets. The nice and cozy warm light and atmosphere that radiates from these nice places, perfectly contrasting the gray outside, creates just such a cozy and soul-warming atmosphere that brings me to peace. I hope to visit Japan someday :)
🤜🤛Thank you for the release, colleague, I have visited many cemeteries in different countries, I have been posting videos from cemeteries on this channel for 14 episodes, I want to say that I see a Japanese cemetery for the first time, it turned out to be very well-groomed and beautiful, well done, now my goal is to shoot cemeteries in Japan. I will be glad to new people on the channel. All goodness and health 😊❤
It has been a long time since you came back to Kyoto! The last time was in September 2017. (I remember, I was there at that time as well. I even saw you at the Tokyo Game Show! 😁) It's nice to see the bamboo forest of Arashiyama again! 😁 Merci beaucoup Rambalac !
This is exactly what I was looking for in the last days - an interesting rainy video. And to be set in Japan and made by my favourite japanese vlogger is THE bonus! Thank you man, please keep making this videos, really appreciated! Many greetings from Germany!
Waiting for the premiere and I can already tell I’m going to love this. Reminds me of my trip to Kyoto a few years back where we went to the exact places. Thank you for this ❤️🥺
hi, i don’t usually comment on videos but, i see a lot of people saying how much this helps them. i’m also someone that these videos help, i particularly love the rain videos. i used to use the sound of rain that iphone gave as an option for earbuds but they’d get lost and hurt my ears when i slept. using these videos on my tv is so much nicer. the locations are so beautiful, the sound is relaxing, i also love the human aspects of the videos (especially when you stop for the cats 😭💜). thank you for making these, it’s been three to four years since i’ve been to japan and seeing them is so soothing and they really do help me with sleeping 💤 (also sorry if this doesn’t make sense im starting to fall asleep 😂)
Perhaps now it is best time to film japan, because there are no tourists from all over the world. Just unique Japan and japanese people. It gives nice and calming reality escape like diving inside art work.
I absolutely love Kyoto, there is something special about that place, I think in one of my previous lives long long ago I lived there because when I see Kyoto I feel like it's home especially in the rain ! Thank you for all your hard work !
Thank you Rambalac. You have saved my life this evening (or my noisy neighbour's!). They are again having a party with loud music (despite Covid restrictions, but they don't care) and I needed something to help take me away from the situation. Then I noticed your new video! So, noise-cancelling headphones on, play this through the TV and here I am in Kyoto! Thank you for helping me escape
@EveLang1 How did you guess? Yes I am in Britain. There does seem to be a culture of "I don't care" at the moment. Thankfully these noise-cancelling headphones block out 99% of their noise. Plus we have Rambalac lol
The first 30 minutes gave me a strong sense of déjà-vu, since you walked the exact same route I took last year haha. Thank you for the video. Great as always.
please don't stop making these videos, they help me with anxiety before bed. thank you xox
same.
Same here
I hear you, Armando. I hear you, fella!
OMG me too!! I have CPTSD and it’s been terrible lately and videos like these make me feel so safe and at peace. I can’t wait to visit Japan
@桜光莉 why dont you reply to my comment??
The green, the rain drop sounds, the dark skies and the shop lights, Love all of this, Brings so much peace

that was nice episode.
Unfortunately that restaurant has closed permanently thanks to Corona.
Where I live is a nasty industrial town with no nice parks or even nice buildings, just squares and parking lots. I really appreciate these videos and gives me hope I can live in a beautiful place some day.
I always appreciate how Rambalac makes his chapter headers by what food he eats or what cats he finds. Those ichigo daifuku look spectacular.
That little air blower is the most frequently appearing character in these videos.
The best! I love it.
what does those blows do?
@@1028music Removing rain from the camera lens without smudging
The Kyoto Rain arc is where that character steals all of the scenes.
i absolutely hate it.

The temple between the mountains is fantastic

Cloudy and with drizzle, my favorite weather.
These are the kind of videos I love. The rainy day ones. So chill.
It's a gray rainy morning in NYC as I watch this. The rain outside matches the rain in the video very well. Almost feels like I am there. This is the perfect way to spend a calm rainy weekend morning.
After roughly 20 minutes of staring at my screen, I realized this might be the most beautiful place I have ever seen. I must travel there one day!
thank you so much for sharing this, I haven't been able to leave my house in over a year now and getting these glimpses of relaxing outdoor walks really helps cheer me up 💜
38:30 Lovely little restaurant. The definition you are getting with this rain is incredible.

These walks always start my day on a positive note. Thank you from the US, Rambalac!
Kyoto in the woods and rainy weather is the best.
I lived in Kyoto for two years, and boy do I miss it. Your videos take me there so I can feel a little more at home.

You finally visited Kyoto!! And the rain made the video even more interesting! Thank you!

I loved the green tone from this village. Such a beautiful houses and clean air. I want to live there.
God Bless you, Ram. 🇧🇷
Looks like Taiwan but cleaner, with low-key aestheticism. It soothes. thank you!
Observed and consumed each and every moment of it the sound of rain drop and the Shrien temple and most stunning bamboo groove unforgettable.

Lovely! The sound of the rain was really nice on the bamboo walk part - also, the bit at 59:53 was just INCREDIBLE! Like something from a movie...
Arashiyama was truly beautiful & calm
im waiting another Arashiyama video on your channel since 2017 😁😅✌

I open another tap and play some music. So it feels like I am walking in Kyoto and listening to music.
When I want to relax I watch your videos. Thanks for making them!
That was so fun when you stopped and bought that special daifuku!
Прекрасное видео, я впервые так сильно погрузился в просмотр...слушая в наушниках так вообще есть эффект присутствия, гениально!
Got a 4k tv just to watch these videos.. mind-blowing
