    A very similar thing In Mexico its called vaso de elote (which is corn in a cup) Its bomb with all the Mexican ingredients that go into it🤤🤤💛

    • @risingstar9903
      @risingstar9903 2 місяці тому +1

      At least vaso de elote use fresh and aromatic ingredients, which as a Vietnamese I really enjoy. This corn snack if the Philippines I’m not a fan of because it’s like having those corn juice you have in the bottom of the elote cup with some additional processed powder cheese flavor.

    • @yess.....
      @yess..... 2 місяці тому

      @risingstar9903 oh 100%. The ingredients in the vaso de elote are not even close to being compared😅
      Damn I feel like taking a walk in my neighborhood just to see if I can bump into an elotero (a person with their little cart who sells corn) and buy some!!😅
      Even though I live in Tempe AZ, you can still find them here.

    • @risingstar9903
      @risingstar9903 2 місяці тому

      @@yess..... I’m from Chicago, back when I used to go to school. Every time school is over, I always stop by Mexican vendors and grab myself some elotes, request them to add in spicy powder and bought a side of those tiny bags of takis. My goodness! Those two pair together so well. Now that I’ve graduated from college and got a job, every time I drive and see any Mexican vendor or food truck. You know 100% I’m grabbing an elotes and a small bag of takis. Prob to you and your people for making some of most delicious food out there.

    • @yess.....
      @yess..... 2 місяці тому

      @@risingstar9903 aww that's so cool. I'm really glad you got to experience that when you were in your school days. Thosee vendors are always the sweetest and super hardworking. And trust me our people looove to share our culture and dishes with everyone!! We don't cry when we see others with "our" hairstyles or making Mexican food🤣

      Margarine in a pack - 11 pesos
      Cheese powder - guessing around 50 pesos
      Unless you want to make it every now and then-then just buy the ingredients you'll be able to use it for other purposes anyway

    Ugh, UPD memories...way back 2002-2006 I learned to skip my CASAA, Beach house and even Aling Lina meals so I have money for Warcraft 3 and Ragnarok Online. But I had to put something in my stomach after a long day in school. So after my last class I would go to Vinzons Hall where the uniformed Kuyas sold these in plastic cups for 10 pesos. I live for the sabaw, gurl, the sabaw which is the still steaming sweet corn water mixed with the cheese powder and the margarine. Then I was set for three hours of questing at the local computer shop. Ohh those hungry, happy days...

      @@user-pt5cl2ro6f There's this new electric can opener that my family uses every time we open huge cans for fruit salad. We just need to plug in the electricity, stick the can to the magnet, and everything's good. It helped me a lot from too much work, and I wouldn't need to use a knife anymore when our can opener breaks.

    For non-Filipinos:
    What she whispered while opening the smaller can: If you can't finish (all the corn), just add it to fried rice.
    "SABAW" means "soup"
    (cheesy corn soup = yum!)
    "MAISNACK" is her play on words. "Mai" (from Mairo-on) means "TO HAVE" + SNACK, and "MAIS" = corn.
