Beautiful, articulate and humble woman. Too many people have this negative perception of her as being vain and self-absorbed just because she has enough money to afford the finer things in life. I don't see anything like that here. I see a brave woman speaking from her heart and giving sound advice.
It is not because of her money or being fancy, it is because many times she shows herself as shallow, plastic and spoiled, most of the times just like trying too hard... Then it is almost impossible to take her seriously until u listen to something completely different like this which can change your mind (at least until her next tweet or entertainment news)... Just see how low profile her singing for the new show Mixed-ish has been managed...
@@McFred1065 All of her fans know the diva persona is put on she really isn't like that underneath even she says herself she does it for laughs. The truth is if she was as narcassistic and self-centered as many people make her out to be there's no way she would of set up Camp Mariah or gone out of her way to support so many causes and charities close to her.
I think it’s because of the fact that she has this diva image.. Yes, her true fans knows that’s not who she truly is. But, not everyone is a fan! Or actually watch videos like these that shows what she’s about! It is what it is

Not everyone is a fan and not everyone knows that he whole "Dahling, give me a splash of champagne, I don't know her, I celebrate anniversaries not birthdays, dahling" is just a character. So her fans look silly getting mad at people who don't follow her not knowing anything other than what SHE CHOOSES to put out there as her persona.

What I admire about Mariah is that people may oversee the fact she’s not only a singer, but also a songwriter and a producer of most of her catalogue since her debut.
Now, my guess is that the creative process behind music may have an even greater male-dominance. Good for her if she’s fought for that right throughout her career! Since as fans we get to see an authentic catalogue, guaranteeing Mariah’s creative input.
True, it's easy for people to assume she doesn't write and produce when Walter is lying on her.
I love seeing her this way. Beyond all the diva feats is a strong, smart and fearless business woman.
I was a huge Mariah fan when she first came out, and I still am to this day. She is SO RIGHT about the way women are pitted against each other, and how we simply need to refuse to play that game. Even back in the day when it was 'Whitney vs. Mariah' I refused to pick a side, I loved them both. This isn't a zero-sum game. There is room at the table for all the talented women out there.

I’m not buying that its men pitting women against each other at all. You can make it out to look that way, but every time a woman has been terrible to me, a man had nothing to do with it. I love having good men around because they can keep you safe from women’s nasty sabotaging and instigating. Women are not victims of this shit, they start it most of the time.

I'm glad to see more reflective, serious interviews with Mariah. Maybe media is finally noticing how smart, experienced, witty and wise Mariah is. Better late than never!

I like that she gave a bit of a shout-out to the behind-the-scenes people we often forget about.
If anything, Mariah was lucky to have written all her own music especially during her debut because back then a lot of studio heads didn’t like women writing their own music.
If anything, Mariah can't help it, she has been a writer since she was a kid.

A poised, assured, confident, and glowing woman, mother, singer-songwriter and human. I am so unbelievably proud and in awe of this woman. To see her move past her troubles from not even 3 years ago to be speaking so eloquently and to have re-taken the reins of her career and her legacy after a 2nd divorce and a horrible, manipulative management team make me so incredibly proud. She seems more in control as an artist and advocate than she ever has during her now 30-year career. I cannot wait to see what projects she has for her future and I will be eagerly waiting (and listening joyfully) all along the way.

I loved when she said I'm gonna do what I wanna do and no one is gonna stop me. I love that. She went after her dreams and her dreams came true. There were obstacles thru the course. But she made it thru the rain. She is unstoppable. To this day she is my fave singer of all time. Her and Britney Inspire me. They my faves.

What an amazing interview with this marvelous woman! Mariah is such a queen in every aspect! Such an articulate woman that has NEVER been given the respect she deserves. She has been through it all and is still making excellent music. Sure there have been some bad choices along the way (mainly Stella) but, she is still better than 99% of the younger artist today.
Artist should never be pitted against the other......there is room for everyone!
