I really appreciate that interviewers are now focusing on Mariah’s songwriting genius. I had a feeling about it, couldn’t even listen to it, had to buy it as is. Man, I knew every single track before anyone else. It was an amazing stroke of luck! I knew every song before Vision of Love hit and was kind of pissed Vanishing wasn’t the first single, lol. That album, smh. I remember dancing alone in an empty gym at night with the lights off to an 8 min Someday remix. I remember singing along, crying, to I Don’t Want To Cry. That album was EVERYTHING to me, sigh. Fan for life.

Her single "Emotions" was so lit and her high whistle notes makes me want to repeat that song for all the time.
The fact that she was the one who wrote "All I Want for Christmas" and the all other iconic songs she released makes her an icon and a living legend at a level occupied by her alone.
I was in a used record store the year that first album was released. No one knew who she was, the first single hadn’t hit yet, it was being sent to radio stations. I had come across a promotional copy of the album on cassette on the “new arrival” shelf. The cassette was encased in a box that was a replica of the album cover. I paid 5$ for it. I had a feeling about it, couldn’t even listen to it, had to buy it as is. Man, I knew every single track before anyone else. It was an amazing stroke of luck! I knew every song before Vision of Love hit and was kind of pissed Vanishing wasn’t the first single, lol. That album, smh. I remember dancing alone in an empty gym at night with the lights off to an 8 min Someday remix. I remember singing along, crying, to I Don’t Want To Cry. That album was EVERYTHING to me, sigh. Fan for life.

In the music industry it's almost impossible to start a career at your 30-40 because looks DO matter to people even though they won't admit it.
Also if you are around 20 years old your voice is still good and probably sounds young.
