    Elsa! piensas que si trabajo en finanzas y hago un master en big data ("potente") tendré posibilidades de aplicar a software engineer ademas de big data? me apasiona tu trabajo !

    • @ElsaScola
      @ElsaScola  Рік тому

      Hay muchas formas de conseguir un trabajo como software engineer.
      Si tienes claro que prefieres trabajar como software engineer en vez de data analyst creo que una opción más directa sería hacer un bootcamp. He visto a gente que proviene de campos de artes incluso y que con un bootcamp consiguen empleo como software engineer. Si no estás del todo seguro entonces puedes hacer un máster en Big data pero a la hora de encontrar trabajo tendrás que estar más pendiente de encontrar posiciones donde te permitan cambiar internamente de rol dentro de la empresa o intentar tener un buen portfolio de trabajos de software para poder aplicar directamente a una posición de software. Al fin y al cabo la programación que enseñan normalmente en los másteres de Big data está más relacionada con datos (obviamente 😂) entonces harán énfasis en SQL y Python por ejemplo pero no verás cosas como programación orientada a objetos, diseño de algoritmos y lenguajes como java o web (js,html...) que son nociones fundamentales para trabajar como software engineer. Puedes aprenderlas siempre por tu cuenta también, como digo hay mucho caminos para llegar al mismo sitio... Creo que el primer paso es entender exactamente qué quieres hacer :) espero que no haya sido muy lioso este párrafo jaja

      @@ElsaScola justo he visto el video de hoy y me he dado cuenta de que has estudiado el master de big data de CIII. Yo ojala pudiera hacerlo pero no creo q me cojan, trabajo en un banco de 8 de la mañana a 8 de la tarde en gestion de carteras y me acuesto a las 3 de la mañana estudiando programacion para ver si tengo oportunidad de poder entrar a algun master y que no importe que no estudiara ingenieria.. me gustaría hacerlo en big data porque puedo utilizar de complemento mis estudios en finanzas pero a mi lo que mas me gusta es programar en realidad.. por eso quiero cerrarme el menor numero de puertas posibles..
      me encantan tus videos!!

      @@asmf2605 muchas gracias :) entiendo...es una situacion complicada pero seguro que consigues compaginarlo al final. Por si te ayuda de algo te comparto esta otra plataforma que no requiere de tanta dedicacion de tiempo como quizas un master www.udacity.com/courses/all
      Puedes filtrar por cursos gratuitos y tambien los hay de pago con titulacion incluida, normalmente los emiten empresas grandes asi que pueden venirte bien para el CV o complementar tu formación. Yo misma me hice algunos gratuitos para aprender Android development. Mucha suerte! 🍀

    I live in a small country, I try hard to learn English but can't, can you help me with some tips.😓

    • @ElsaScola
      @ElsaScola  Рік тому +3

      I'd say the easiest way to learn English is to surround yourself with people that speak the language and try to practice as much as you can.
      Consuming content in English also helps (like reading and watching movies in English without subtitles), but in order to improve your speaking skills you need to actually speak with people to practice.
      If you don't know any foreigners you could also find people online and do language exchange :)

    I have a question or rather an inquiry "How I Got a Software Engineering Job at Amazon"
    I am a software engineer, I graduated about a year and a half ago (ranked 1st place in my university and 2nd in my country) , and my situation is almost the same as yours. I got an internship from a German company in my senior year, And before graduation, I moved to work in my current company as a Backend developer using Python-Django
    But I've moved away from DS and Algorithms a lot, and the web domain has become a chore for me. I've started searching and applying for another job using LinkedIn RemoteMore, Indeed, and a lot of other job sites, but so far I haven't had a chance to qualify for a job interview. they just rejected me before even the interview, and some of them don't even check my cv. I don't know what the problem is. But no company has yet wanted to meet me, even if the work is an internship or entry role.
    Sorry for the long post but I really need help
    And sorry for the inconvenience

      Hi Ali, I'm not Elsa, but I red your question. Applying for the company where you don't know people personally would be difficult for you because of your name. I'm Russian myself and I believe that nobody would hire me now in Europe. I understand why. I would not hire anyone with Russian first and last name either, If I personally don't know the person. Think about, if potential employer have 100 resumes, your definitely will go to the bottom. You need to find someone who is personally know you and can hire you or recommend you. You can contact your professors from the University where you ranked 1st. and ask them for help and references, or find somebody on your field who know somebody. And your nationality and name could be also great assets if you speak some of the Middle East language as well. I hope it was be helpful. Wish you best of luck and find job you dream about.

      Hi, I'm sorry you're facing so many difficulties to find a job... Have you tried getting a referral from someone working at the specific company you want to work in? I think that might be helpful to increase your chances of getting an interview. I'd also reach out to recruiters from companies you want to work for directly on LinkedIn.
      Wishing you the best of luck 🤞🍀
