I'm not trying to be a wise guy full of hindsight, but here's a story. A long time ago I was sitting on the side of the road with a hub problem like yours. After getting towed to the shop, an old schooler told me to feel the hubs every time I thump the tires. He said some will be cold, some warm. You get to know what's normal. When a hub starts to run warmer than normal, it's time to change the bearings. I did this religiously for decades, and yes I replaced some bearings, but never had another breakdown due to a hub problem.
Note what he said, on the previous video, I believe , which was that the axle damage was caused by bearing failure, which was caused by a lower brake pads broken spring. Had the brake spring not broken while driving, and which was undetectable until he was stopped due to the drive tire pop, the bearing and axle most likely would not have been affected.
@@JohnHallgren true but he also said he continued to drive 20 more miles or something after he noticed the brakes smoking as he didn't want to pay for a roadside call/tow. Who knows, it might have already been damaged at that point but continuing to drive another 20 miles with the brakes smoking might have been what caused the final damage.
@@mojavedesert519 oh, I wasn’t saying that he didn’t potentially help cause the axle problem by continuing those twenty miles even at low speeds or that he might have missed checking the hub at that first smoking stop, but only that some problems can occur undetected while driving.

The Rolex certainly has sentimental value but he has no opportunity to wear it and probably wouldn’t anyway so why not make use of that asset for something he can use to make additional money with? The shop where the broken trailer is now essentially said it’s not worth trying to fix the axle when all the issues are considered.
Man this has to be a wake up call for you! You ran a truck and a trailer completely into the ground; working day and night; mile upon mile; and then when its time to replace them; the company account has no money; and your selling family heirlooms to survive. Bottom line your not getting enough per mile to pay the costs of rolling the wheels down the road. You've got to reevaluate your costs per mile and that includes a maintance/repair account that comes out of every check. If the pay per mile does not allow for a profit; you don't do it! Your not a charity; giving your work and your assets away. Put an hourly wage for yourself into the calculation; and for the work you do; the equipment you provide; the licenses and certifications; all that you bring to the workplace; you have to make more for yourself than a high schooler flipping frys at McDonalds. Man I feel for you; and wish you the best.

Thanks for the info
I would try to get the newest trailer you can something that'll last for at least 8 years. Hopefully things will work out for you.
Id rent a trailer for a few months until you get a little cash saved up and you can find the best deal vs needing a trailer right now. And I'd sell the old truck for the best offer you get long before I'd sell my dads rolex. I just know I'd never regret selling an old truck and someday I'd want that watch back. But thats just what I would do, you do what you want. Im am o/o I know theres hard decisions to make.
i dont no how u keep going/i would sat to hell with trucking/with all the shit going on to day/good luck
Check Riche Brothers auction you get newer trailer Good price
Looking into it
my advice is while you are in Texas look around down there & see if you can find a Mexican repair shop & see if they can fix it,,, throw yourself on social media & ask other truckers if they can help,, i know in Houston there's all kind of mom & pop shops that probably fix it for you,, your problem is getting the trailer there,, you'll have to go to tractor supply & by a chain to chain that axle,, as long as it is empty you can always say your taking it to a repair shop,,, run hell out of that rental all over TX make as much money as you can , but before you sell your dads Rolex watch i'd take a short term note against my house or property ,, or take a second lien on your tractor your gonna spend some time bob tailing but in the long term it will be worth it , you might want to think of putting the Coronado on market place & take bids on it,
The Rolex certainly has sentimental value but he has no opportunity to wear it and probably wouldn’t anyway so why not make use of that asset for something he can use to make additional money with?
The shop where the broken trailer is now essentially said it’s not worth trying to fix the axle when all the issues are considered.
My buddy been working with a 2006 trailer original unit for the past 3 years 😂
Talk to Tim Ghorley….Life is Good
Lease to Schneider you can gross 4-6k rn and no trailer payment and a load board you don’t need to talk to anyone
Any news?
Working on it
Man this has to be a wake up call for you!
Bowman leases trailers for like $250 a month
Thanks
Why don't you try SBA line of credit? Lending is a good company to apply thru.
Got a HELOC option I’m looking into
It seems Shippers dont understand equipment needs replacing at some point.
Hence the low rates…..
I hate to hear all this craziness. I'm waiting to hear if my driver's Cummins x15 needs a rebuild. He didn't let me know he was going through 1/2 gallon of coolant a day for about a week. By the time he did and got it to the shop he said he went through 3 gallons those last few miles.
There are so many trailers out there I still have no bites on trying to sell my 2022 Wabash dry van. Trying to get payoff of 24k
I’ll text u Tony. Might be interested
