Such a bad ass song, album and band. The drum sound on this album became the standard go to for a lot of rock and metal producers when mixing. Brendan did a great job on here.
LOVE this band! This isn't one of faves of theirs but it gives a fair representation of what they're about. The title track and Cigarettes are the best from this album for me.
This track is like a bulldozer to the face...the song you crank the volume more and more. The obvious go to track would be "Dogman"...one of their best known songs, but I'm not sure how that song would hit fresh ears either.
Ok. PILLOW is my numero uno. I like Human Behavior, Happy, Julia, 67, Love and Rockets. Others like Complain, It's Love, Summer land, Over my head And others- Cigarettes, Life going by, Flies and Blues Skies, Pleiades. I like them all. I LOVE that insane heaviness. I have found it no where else.
you are more a Ty guy I bet... check out the songs Ty writes... Dogman was a bare bones cool heavy album... you might like "fool you" better from this album... but Ear Candy and Gretchen (to me) are far better... but also check out the new one Three Sides of one, total Meshuggah influence ... check it out. "Summerland" to me.. is one of the best songs ever written (the guitar riff and solo are just perfect). "groove machine" off the 'Tapehead' album is their show opener and is really a perfect concert opener.
Probably my favorite Kings X album. But Pillow is not ‘the one’ if you’re only listening to one song. I feel like you’re not getting the right requests. On this album…Flies and Blue Skies, Fool You, Cigarettes, Black the Sky, Pretend, Complain…listen to those when you can. Trust me…you’re going to click at some point and realize how much you love Kings X.

Black the Sky is a must listen to the guitar tone is incredible !!!!
Sadly underrated band. KING'S X!!!

Such a wonderful band under appreciated like UFO.
Great song, but live this song takes it to a whole different level. The crowd singing along really makes this one special.

SHOES why didn't someone request SHOES
Agree - it’s awesome!

Pleiades is one of my favorite kings x tunes
Try some later songs like "Higher Than God," "Jenna," "Marsh Mellow Field" or "Mudd." I suspect these will be more up your alley.
doug uses a 12 string bass alot
It’s Love & Pray
so fucking good
King's X is killer!

it's subjective.
Listen to Summerland

Visions
Try a reaction to Black The Sky it's heavy with a damn good groove
Dogman is a pretty good record overall, but this song was always a skip for me. Just down tempo sludge.
Just an ok song for me.
There are better songs on this album IMHO. I particularly like "Fool You," "Complain" and "Cigarettes."
Is an ok song. To me not even top 5 on this album. You're hitting their middle of the road tracks in my personal opinion.
The lead tracks on basically all their albums are better. You'll like It's Love off Faith Hope Love despite the Ty Tabor vox.
I agree, Dug’s got a great voice & I really like his bass tone. Without that, a lot of the songs would be forgettable.
